"I-I'm not sure.. I mean I ran here, but how I got in the area I'm not sure..." Jewel said, quietly she licked her lips looking at the food. She could hear her stomach growl. She plopped down on the ground, she was so weak from not eating for so long. The odd ears, that really showed what she was, fell down hiding along in her dark hair. "C-can I have some of that?"

He picked up the fries that had come with the burger and gave them to her. "Here. Eat these for now. Let me go get you a whole one." He stood up and walked to the counter to order another burger. The burger that Adam had been eating was nearly done, there wasn't any point on giving her a half-eaten one if she was so weak. In a few minutes he came back with a burger and a drink in his hands.

Jewel's ears perked up as she was handed the fries, she scarfed them down, and licked her lips of every last peice of food. "Thank you." she said when he came back. Gentley taking the burger eating it, she felt less sickly and slightly stronger.

Candy sighed. Her ear was twitching. Then she looked around. She was on the ground.

Adam nodded and said, "You're welcome." He took up his already half-eaten burger and looked across the small food service area. It wasn't much, just a stand, some parking spots and trash cans. "You were there ten years ago.... Weren't you?" he asked quietly after swallowing a bite.
Janette opened her eyes and looked around. She thought she had heard someone nearby. She stood up, using the tree as support and looked around. "Hello?" she called out.

Jewel nodded, her mouth being full she didn't want to seem anymore like an animal then she already was. She swallowed the bite "I was probably the youngest they experimented on." she said with a sigh, she didn't remember much of her parents, and it wasn't that long ago that she escaped.

Adam nodded looking off into the distance. "I may not look it. But I was there too," he said queitly. He could feel the lion pacing within him.
"C'est une personne ici?" Janette called out. She shook her head and then repeated, in English, "Is someone here?" She started walking towards the voice, her wings pulled in a bit so they didn't get scratched.

Jewel's eyes widened in shock."Really? You seriously don't seem like it." she said, licking pieces of her burger, and ketchup off her hand. She licked her nose, her tounge was long enough to reach it at least.

A small grin appeared on his face. "That's because it was an internal change. Not an external one," he vaguely explained. He seemed recultant to say anything else, but if she asked, he would explain. "My name is Adam by the way."

"Jewel." she said with a small smile, hearing a fly near her head and snapping her teeth at it. "Sorry. Force of habit."

Adam smiled. "It's okay. It's nice to meet you Jewel." He took another bite out of his burger and swallowed. He felt something prickle on the back of his neck. Something wasn't right.
He started looking around slowly, nothing escaping his eyes. Was someone watching them? There wasn't anyone in the dining area, and the teenager at the counter could careless what was happening beyond his cell phone. So what was causing his discomfort.

"You got a lock?" John asked barely moving his lips to ask his partner. He sat back against the trunk of the tree with his left leg hanging over the side.
Alex frowned. What kind of question was that? Of course he had the lock. "Yes." was his reply. Looking through the target hole, he could see the parking lot, the picinic tables and the two Halflings at one of them. "Easy shot."
"Wait a for another minute then fire," he said preparing to jump down. He'd need to move fast before anyone could see.

"It's nice to meet you too."Jewel took a bite, eating the rest of her burger. She sighed, and her ears twitched slightly. She'd heard something out of the ordinary, her seemingly distant ice blue eyes, looked for the sorce of the sound, it wasn't completly untracable, but more difficult than others. She couldn't seem to find it, she felt some strange nerve in her body screaming at her telling all her muscles to run at full speed for it. Away from here, taking Adam and running as far away as possible. She easily ignored that nerve.

Checking once more where his target was. He was sitting at the table and Alex was aiming for his leg. "Allez," Alex said pulling the trigger.
At the signal, John jumped down. As soon as he hit the ground, the shot came to his ears. Seconds now. He sprinted to the tabels while pulling out his stun gun. Another shot, and another. Attention would be drawn in their direction.

The first gunshot caught him by surprise. Adam felt the bullet graze his foreleg as he tried to move it. He bit back a growl and rolled to the side, dodging the next two shots. "Run!" he roared at Jewel. He ignored the pain in his right leg and ran towards his motor cylce.

Jewel ran the opposite way of way she came from, she ran as fast as she could, she should've probably listened to that single nerve before that said to run. She got down on all fours running even faster, she didn't look back she was to scared, she stayed in the ditch close to the side of the road she remained hidden in the tall grass. Only being able to see her when her head occasinally came up to check where she was going, one ear remained in the air, listening for anything coming within close range of her, the other layed flat. When she was almost as far as her legs (and arms) would take her she completly collapsed, she was done for if they found her. She layed there, unable to move, unable to keep her eyes open and keep herself awake. She gasped a few times, trying to get enough air, then panted as she tried her hardest to stay awake. Her small body was nearly covered completly by the slowly thining grass except for one arm, that was just barely sticking out into the open. About 10 minutes later her breathing began slowing down and her eyes opened slightly, she groaned sitting up she looked around, "Adam?" she said quietly she got worried remembering he'd gotten hit by a bullet "Adam?!" she stood up, running back towards where she came from. She sighed and groaned, until she fell back into the grass, she layed there, unable to move.
