Well I'm putting this weeks up a bit later, figure I should start at the beginning and save the finales for the end.

I got all of those on my Ipod so I won't have to buy any episodes lol. good thing too.... only have 2 bucks on my account o.o;

I picked that too because it's my favorite premiere *nods*
And it was the first episode of Supernatural I ever bought for my ipod. I remember I was catching up on the SPN I missed when I first got into the show and was reading the summary's of the all and i was like "an episode with Aean in a coma? Hurt!Dean!!!! Yayz!" *buys*

Oh yea and guys, i'm gonna be pretty busy this week so I may not make the discussion. I dont know for sure, we'll see.

Because me and my mom got to hurry up and finish painting and reorganizing/cleaning one of the rooms because my uncle is staying with us for a few days next weekend, starting Friday and we want to be finished by then.

So just to let you guys know just in case I dont make the discussion or get a chance to rewatch the episode. But if I have free time I will definitely try to make it!

Yay! Today is one of my off days, so I can actually watch the episode and discuss it with you guys tomorrow!

Watching reruns over the past few weeks has made me hungry for a musical recap.

God, that was a horrible cliff hanger for season 1. I'd almost forgotten about it.

I love Sam's confidence and determination to save people. In this episode, you can see it with how adamantly Sam tells his father that they'll find a way to save Dean. In the season 4 finale, you saw it in how he charged (blindly) forward, even taking a path that he knew he couldn't come back from in order to save the world from the apocalypse.

I like how they started to pick at Dean's confidence in this season. Dean starts to doubt wanting to be a hunter for the rest of his life, and this episode is where it begins. There's his admittance that he gave everything he has for his family and for his job, while also thinking his dad didn't even care if he lived or died. Then there's the very end where his dad gives him the news that makes him wary of what might happen to Sam for the rest of the season. Of course, just like in the rest of the show, in this episode, what pulls Dean back to hunting is the fact that people are dying and they need his help.
*sigh* I love Dean.

So here's a question: We know from Faith that reapers stop time. So why do the clocks still work in the hospital?

I love Tessa as a reaper. I'm glad we got to see her again.
I also really love janitor YED. He was awesome and I really miss him.

Sam: We were just starting to be brothers again.
God, this show just tears out my heart. Sam's line here is even more heartbreaking when you know how much crap the brothers' relationship goes through between this and season 5.

I wonder, in what sense of the word was Meg YED's daughter? Did he turn her into a demon? When he was a human, was Meg his human daughter? Was she like an adopted daughter? How does that all work?

YED: There's something else I want as much as that gun, maybe more.
Wow. I always thought that YED just hated John. Maybe that's not what it was all about. Maybe what he wanted more than the gun was for John to go to hell so they could try to break the first seal with him, thus enabling him to use his favorite special child to raise Lucifer.
I know Kripke has known where he wanted the show to end since the beginning, but did he have John's role in hell planned out at this point! How much of this fits together because of Kripke's genius, and how much is just coincidence?

I always wonder what Dean would have decided if YED hadn't shown up. I honestly don't know. He was torn so much in both directions. It almost looks like he was about to agree to go with Tessa, but then I think about how strongly he refused before, and I'm not fully convinced that he would have gone with her, but I'm not fully convinced he wouldn't have either.

Dean really is the one person who holds that family together. He's the one who brought Sam back, he's the one who took care of him and knows him better than anyone. He's the one who always looked after their dad, and he's the one who stuck with his dad when everyone else left. He's also the one who saw Mary through her ordeal of meeting the yellow eyed demon back In the Beginning. It's so sad that he loses everyone before he dies (of course, he gets Sam back, but that's besides the point).

Oh, and that look on Dean's face when Papa Winchester tells him he might have to kill Sammy. That right there is a testament to both Jensen's amazing acting skills and Kripke's evilness (since we don't find out what John said for like 9 episodes).

Mmmm . . . . Such a good episode.

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow to discuss this with everyone, but I'm helping a friend move and I have to choreograph a whole new dance for closing programs with some of the other counselors, so I don't know when I'll be on.

OK so I watched last night at 11 but I was sorta sleepy so I forgot all the thoughts I had. I'm watching it again now lol ><
Alright firstly... Sam kept hearing Dean. Several times he turned to where he was standing and he even quoted him once. I'm not sure if all that is because he could actually sense him, or if Sam just knew Dean so well that he just knew what he'd say and said it. But even after saying "Just find some hoodoo priest to lay some mojo on him" Sam made a face like 'wtf did I just say?' O.o
Just wondering if Sam could really hear him or not with the psychic stuff. John didn't seem to sense him at all and Dean was practically screaming at him confused

Secondly, looking at the wreck of what was left of the Impala, I'm thinking.... it's really unrealistic Dean fixed it in two weeks O______O
Just saying lol. My dad's a mechanic.. I know these things take a helluva lot of time... plus you can't exactly just walk into a auto shop and find parts for a 40 year old car.

Third, I agree with Garra, this was the episode that Dean started having doubts about hunting. It all started when Dean took his frustrations out on John. Poor Dean sad

fourth, Sam was really being hard on John I must say. I mean I can't blame him but in the end.... John had it all figured out to trade himself for Dean's life and yet Sam did nothing but believe John cared more about stopping the YED than saving Dean. Then again, so did Dean. They both were hard on John sad

fifth, for gods sakes, WHY didn't they think somethign weird was going on when the glass magically flew off the table? sorry, that's always bugged me lol.

Question... why didn't John set up ny devils traps when he called the YED? Seriously, he could have trapped him and his henchmen, and made him do whatever he wanted to save Dean, and THEN killed him. Happy ending lol. Or why didn't he go to the crssroads? John might have gotten at least another year or ten. Better deal than what he got confused
I know he said he didn't want to trap him... but wtf John seriously.

Hm... wonder what Dean would have chose to have done.... gone with the reaper or stayed. For some reason I imagine him staying and holding on, but i don't know why. Dean just strikes me as the 'I don't want to be a rest' sort of guy. He'd keep trying to fight even beyond the dead imo.

I wonder how long John has known about the children and Sam. In the Origins comics Lilith tried to kill Sam when he was just a kid and John was supposed to kill Sam when once he got back him back from Lilith but he couldn't do it. Makes me wonder if that is one of the few times the comics really connected with the show.

John died at 10:41..... 40 is the number for death remember? Cute Kripke, very cute wink
