.R O L E P L A Y. [Where the Wind Blows] By Kuuroinochou After going out earlier that day, Kuu never would have expected to run into Devan by chance. Let alone meet Riyana in person, she was so adorable and cute. Albeit a little insecure of herself and her surroundings but it was to be expected. Maybe the lanturns didn't know much from their former life. That struck a cord in Kuu, if she were going to have T'li running around she wanted the little lanturn to be educated.
As she entered her home the sound of kids in their room drifted to her ears. "Kids?" Kuu called sliding out of her coat she placed it in the coat closet and brought T'li with her. Peeking into Sefu's room he was playing video games. "Its time for you to turn that off."
"Aww mom..." she smiled as she gave him the look and he complied. "Just this last stage?"
"Fine but when I get back your butt better be in bed." She closed the door knowing full well he wouldn't get off, it didn't matter too much, it was the weekend after all.
Peeking into Leiko's room produced the girl on the phone giggling and screaming. "No way...are you serious?" she spotted her mother and her conversation dimmed. "Yes?"
"Nothing just checking up. Where's Nailah?"
"I put her to bed."
Kuu arched a brow. "And why aren't you watching her?"
"Mom she's sleeps like a rock. I can hear her see..." she pointed to the baby monitor. Kuu smiled at her daughter well at least she was using her brain. Taking the monitor she kissed Leiko and made her way out.
"Don't stay up too late." she called, and was rewarded with a groan and smart comment. "I heard that." all was silent.
With baby monitor and T'li in hand Kuu finally went to her room but not before checking in the kitchen. She found Ramen sitting there his bowl was beyond cold; laughing she scooped him up and headed for her room. Placing Ramen on the dresser and T'li on her hook over the dresser Kuu checked on Nailah who was indeed sleep. "T'li dim your light just a tad." She complied bringing down the indigo hue to a softer blue shade.
With a smile Kuu got dressed into something more comfortable before sitting at the foot of her bed to talk to T'li and Ramen. "So you guys...still not ready to come out neh? It's alright, I'm in no hurry. But T'li I think you should be educated a little more on the world out here. Maybe that's what you'll need to feel more comfortable. Yes?" the lanturn flickered a little careful not to disturb the sleeping baby in her crib.
"Well then, we'll start with Ramen. He's going to be your older brother and he comes form a sushi shop not to far from where I got you. Like you he's got a spirit in him waiting to come out. Only difference he can't talk to us or communicate right now. You can...understand?" T'li flickered. "Good. If for any reason you decide to come out of your lanturn come find me. I don't want you to wander around and get lost. I'll always be close by so just listen for this..." she lifted her wrist to shake the little jingle bells she had tied to them.
"You think you can do that for me?" T'li flickered wildly in response. "Good girl. Now we'll need to find a way of teaching you things. I'm not so sure you can read books right now. How about I read you stories before bed?" T'li seemed to like this as her light glowed like a beakon in the thick night. "Its settled then, I'll put away some time for us to read together. You can learn about a lot of things that way too. So when you decide to surface you'll be plenty knowledgable about things in this world."

.R O L E P L A Y. [Awakenings] Tli & Kuu ...to be revised
Sitting idly as the television flickered in the darkened room, Kuu lay soundlessly asleep. The noise of the tv softly intruded upon her sleep but she was hardly resting as it was. Turning a few times over she kicked the sheets from her, the room growing awfully warm.
Sitting up, Kuu looked around her room noting her lanturn which she smiled at. "Are you awake?" she asked, strangely enough she wasn't sure if they slept in this state.
The lanturn flickered slightly as if tired but it was hard to grasp. "Yeah I can't sleep either." Kuu said standing to her feet. Yawning lightly she closed the distance between them reaching out to gather the lanturn in hand. "Wanna go to the kitchen with me. I'm hungry."
The lanturn flickered in response but nothing more. As she made her way to the kitchen with lanturn in had Kuu sat the item on the counter while she rummaged around in the pantry for something to snack on. "Hmmm..." was the only coherent phrases coming from the cat-woman's lips as she swished about her tail flicking too and fro.
It hadn't dawned on Kuu one bit as she could feel a slight presence in the room. Her cat sense slowly rising to the fore.... "What the?!" she whirled around in time to find a small colorful child batting at her tail which she quickly snatched away. "Who..." but the sentence was unfinished as she noted the lanturn was gone.
Taking the time to understand the situation she looked to the child suspiciously until she noted the color and the brightness... "Tli?" she asked already haven named the child before even realizing it.
"Hi!" came the chipper voice of the small spirit as she bounced into Kuu's arms. "You are my mama, yes?"
"Uh... yes." Kuu gulped stepping back slightly but she wasn't sure what she was so scared of. The child was so darling cute. After a moment of composure Kuu knelt down to embrase Tli in a warm inviting hug while brushing the girl's long bangs from her face. "So cute... you're too cute. I'm Kuu, your mama."
"Mama!" the girl exclaimed once more to confirm her earlier suspicion.

.J O U R N A L. [Lanturn Counciling] By Kuu Okay that's just too cliche. However, I've decided to keep a journal of things to come. I've also instructed Tli to keep a journal of all the events that has happened in her life. So from this day forward, I hope to keep an up to date dairy of what I've learned about the young lanturn spirit.
Thus far she still the same. That's to be expected on my part. I've been preoccupied with a lot of things and just haven't spent much time with her. Tli seems to be doing okay otherwise, but I'm pretty sure my busy schedule has put her at a disadvantage.
There have been times where she had wished for me to read a book to her before bed. I tried but ended up working so long into the night that she tucked herself in for the night. By the time I realized what I'd done, I'd rush to her room to find the book laying at her side. Its getting really hard to keep up with the young lanturn and my work. I don't want to neglect her but it seems the only thing I'm capable of doing is hurting her.
I've went to the lanturn shop and found they have a counciling service. This is a relief, I'll have to talk to Hakari about some counciling. Seeing as how the usual cheerful Tli isn't as upbeat as she used to be.
A few of the other guardians suggested I spend a day out with her and go shopping. That way we'd have some memories to build on. They said Tli might like that, just spending a day out with me. I think that would be fun so I've managed to find some time next week to set that up. She's really excited about it.
I've also learned that there are some quests of which I'll have to undergo with Tli in order to help her development. I don't want her to stay the way she is forever. No parent would for their child. She needs to be pushed further into the fray, meet other lanturn spirits and hopefully make a place for herself in this world.
So its settled, I'll go to this counciling session and find out what I need to do more. Then I'll work on getting her ready for a quest, provided Hikari or Potato Lord will be willing, I think they will. They care about the spirits just as much as each of the guardians. Well I have to get a few things done before I take Tli to the park. She was so eager to go, so I'm going to make the first step.

.J O U R N A L. [Reflection] by Kuuroinochou Well after much needed counciling I think I have a direction of where I want to go with Tli. She's been neglected for far too long which could result in her personality being quite reckless. She might not reach for the hand that I hold out to her but I can't let that stop me.
I just hope it isn't too late for me to be the parent I was suppose to be. She's locked herself in her room a lot lately, not coming down for any food or interaction. Usually I drop by the lanturn shop but she shies away and we end up coming back home.
Its strange but the lanturn I had expected to have is completely different from what I've gotten. When she first came to be she was so happy...I think I killed that light that shown so brightly in her. Its about time I try to bring it back before its snuffed completely.
I just hope it isn't too late...

.R O L E P L A Y. [Rekindling the Flame] Kuu & Tli Kuu stood in front of the door sighing lightly as she knocked on the wooden door. There was no immediate reply as to be expected. With the sound of little feet hitting the floor Kuu waited, and waited....and waited. "Tli can I speak with you a moment?" Kuu called from the other side.
She could see the light of Tli's existence shining in various places throughout the room from under the door. "Tli! Open the door." Kuu said sternly knocking once more.
She tried the handle but the door was locked, another expectation. "I won't ask you again you open this door right now!"
===
With a soft click the door was opened. Inside the room was dark the window blinds shut along with the curtains which were a soft shade of indigo had been closed as well. The only light in the room was from Tli who sat on her lazychair watching television. The light from the tube shed and eerie glow throughout the room along with Tli's own light. "What do you want?" Came the child's barely audible voice. It was remote of any laughter or kindness. To anyone it would sound sad, remorseful and filled with contempt.
===
Sighing Kuu entered standing in front of the television. She turned it off after looking between Tli and the tube, disgusted with how she had neglected the girl to the point of her relying on such a contraption for companionship. Reaching out for the girl she picked her up in arms and sat in her place on the chair. Letting Tli sit in her lap. "I wanted to tell you that...I'm sorry. For being too busy to play with you, or read you books at night... or even being here to listen to your problems. I know its not enough but I want to try again. I want to make things right." Kuu breathed petting Tli's head.
===
"We were suppose to go to the park...there was a picnic..." Tli said gruffly turning her eyes away from her guardian. "We were suppose to go to the library and check out some books for you to read me at night. You said you'd teach me how to make a cake...that we'd pick a day to back sweets. You promised to take me to see some of your friends and that I could spend the night at one of the other lanturn's homes or that I could have a sleep over part....you promised..." the girl stopped choking up with tears as she looked up with hurtful eyes. "You promised so much and never delivered...I hate you!" Without another word she jumped from Kuu's lap and rushed to the other side of the room covering herself with a small blanket.
===
Kuu sighed standing to her feet and closing the gap between them. She hugged the girl tightly even though she struggled against her. "Shhh...its okay. You can hate me for now, I even hate myself. For being so neglectful of you. I have no right to ask this of you but can I start over? Am I not allowed to make it up to you?"
===
"How? You already promised me so much there's nothing you can do... I hate you.. I don't want you to make it up. I want you to hurt like I have...cause it hurts." Tli struggled against Kuu trying to free herself but after a while she grew too weak from crying. Exhausted emotionally she collasped against Kuu in tears.
===
"Then I won't promise you anything anymore. From now on I'll just do it. No matter what it is, I'll just get you up and we'll have a picnic or go to the library for those books. I'll even cook sweets even if you weren't expecting it. I' have a lot to make up for so I won't make any promises in doing it." Kuu held Tli close standing to her feet and scooping the child in her arms. "For now I want you to rest. Just relax I have a lot of things to take care of but you are my top priority now...and I'm sorry for neglecting you for so long." Kuu said laying her on her bed. "Just rest."
===
Tli sniffled as she snuggled into her warm bed. She looked up to Kuu noting the haggered and worn look to her features. Had the woman always looked so tired. She wanted to apologize suddenly for being so hard on her mama but it just wouldn't come to her. Closing her eyes at the gentle kiss, Tli hide a smile under the sheets wondering what had turn her mama so worn.
===
With that part out of the way Kuu felt a little better. She turned to leave the room closing the door behind her. It was then Kuu leaned against her door and sighed in exhaustion herself. She'd been through a lot, it didn't make sense to take out her frustrations on the child. With tears in her own eyes, she made her way down the hall to her room deciding a mid-afternoon nap was what they both needed.

.J O U R N A L. [First Steps] by Kuuroinochou I made the first step with Tli today. After an exhausting and emotional afternoon we both took a much needed rest. I later got myself cleaned up and woke Tli up to take her out for some ice cream. She seemed skeptical at first but lightened up when we got to the ice cream parlor.
Even though I didn't have any money to buy her things we stayed in the market place and looked at all the interesting shops there. Tli seemed quite interested in dragon trinkets. She even liked kitty products too considering I used to have cat features. That was a long time ago.
We did managed to take a walk to the park and sit near the lake there watching the swans. They were quite beautiful... that's when I told Tli about my children. How we had gone on a journey...I lost them to my ex. He killed his own children in a fit of rage but I managed to seal him away and now...there's nothing left. Just Tli and I; I'll protect her from anything no matter what.
At any rate she seemed to understand why I was gone so much but it didn't change the fact that she had been left behind. I have a long way to go before she'll trust me fully with her heart but I'm working on it. There was good news as well. In my journey's I got side tracked and managed to relocate a few friends of them one proposed to me...so I'm getting married. And on top of that I may become queen.
Tli was excited about that. The thought of moving into a castle and being a princess sparked her excitement. I expected as much so I'm planning a trip to see my fiancee again and taking Tli with me to meet him. I do love him so much I just hope Tli gets along with him. There' only one way to find out.
Here's hoping...
