Just like the old saying: Anything "too good to be true" always is. It's totally not worth doing so. Those forums are damned right. Even if it weren't for those trojans and whatnot, I doubt the service will work; that or it's extremely complicated, with tons of fine print and such. I'm sure some of these can affect Macs, too. Don't waste your time.
I'm just enraged that Gaia linked to third-party bullshit. I knew immediately that there would be hell.

unfortuanately for most of the memberbase... microsoft is the killer here....
mac actually has way more and is eqquipped with a much better base virus system.... microsoft doesnt. well to be even more plain microsoft doesn't even have one...and has sometimes used it's members as dummy systems for new viruses..
in my experience as a hacker (no i won't do anything to your computers i have FOR the government on behalf of GD) take that guys advice... however what he said only scratched the surface (yes i did more backround sniffing) there are worms and logic busters in every single one of those site... forget the trojan horse... if any of the worms get in it's good bye private info say so long to your identity as well...however if a logic buster gets it's way in...
say good bye to your computer and if you backed up anything and it's still connected it'll travel through there...and there is no way to get your computer up and running because logic busters affect the zero sector (if any of you don't know what it is it's the most crutial part of the computer that holds all of it's precious data, consider it the heart of the mother board)
also if youre backing up something on a drive like a removable or an external, then it'll infect that device like a leech and infect every computer it gets attached to...
becareful guys... oh and i suggest a timely sweep of your computer like every month or every 3 months there are free virus free programs out there that will allow you to scan your computer and get rid of things that'll either just take up space or have virus potential.

I did try one – Napster.
So far so good, I was actually thinking of joining as Itunes is getting mighty expensive.
I’ve not had any spam, although my sister signed up and cancelled once she got her cash & has gotten Napster’s monthly newsletter.
