Kureaa44 What is it with this series and the theme of "Eternal love"? Whenever a character falls for someone else (most probably Miaka stressed ), it's always this forever lasting, unconditional, irrevocable, Bella and Edward from Twilight type love. At least four character relationships in the series are like this, and in two of them, the lady of the pair is dead. 1. Miaka and Tamahome The obvious one, they'll be together in either world, forever and ever blah blah blah BLAH. 2. Hotohori and Houki Surprised? After all his talk about how much he loved Miaka, he seemed to get over her pretty quickly once Houki came into the picture. I mean, they got married pretty quickly, and Hotohori isn't the type to do somethign like that casually. And they did have a child together too, so he's obviously really devoted to her. 3. Mitsukake and Shao-Huan This one is really sweet. The fact that he never couild forgive himself for "allowing" her death really tugs at my heart strings. And the fact that he actually gave up his life healing a child who just so happens to be her reincarnation is more than just a sweet coincidence. It's fate. There will be no Mitsukake without Shao-Huan. Simple as. 4. Chichiri and His Fiancee You never do find out her name, do you? It's her apparent "betrayal" that leads to the tragic chain of events that leaves him with a scarred face, and even after she's gone, when he meets with Fei-Gao again, he says that when he dies "the three of us will be reunited in heaven". By this, he is implying that he will see her again after he dies and that, in a sense, she's the only one for him. He's like a zen master in his abandonment of earthly desires, so it's unlikely he'd ever get with anyone else (sorry ladies crying ) Does anyone agree with me on any of this? Yes, yes, yes and yes!

Nisa-chan666 personally i kinda disagree with the numbers 2 and 4. for #2, Hotohori only actually looked Houki's way when Nuriko's spirit nudged him in that direction. i doubt he would have glanced at her otherwise. besides, just because he has a child with her, doesn't mean that they're in love. for #4, Chichiri did suffer a real blow by her "betrayal" (sorry, couldn't think of another word, though it isn't really the right one), which puts their relationship on kinda shaky ground. that and he seems to be coping pretty well without her, harsh as that sounds. For one, Angelo and Yuki are gonna be really pissed when they read your #2. xd Second, Chichiri's just about as far as you can get from "coping". He didn't try to commit suicide at 18 for nothing!
