Talli threw up his arm, using the side of it to catch Legede's wrist and keep the dagger from stabbing him. He stood there, keeping the knife just a few inches from him while remaining eye contact with the Captain.
"Your rage consumes you," he remarked, frowning. "But killing me will not change what has happened, and it will not win back Sario. If anything, you will never gain back her admiration."

Talli stood on his own now, hand over his throat where he had been held and pinned by. He didn't answer the question for a moment until he straightened, using his other hand to point at the door.
"There."

Talli's gaze swept across the room and he shook his head.
"I don't know. She ran in there just before you came," he replied.

Sario heard him call her name and panic began to set in. She tried to remain calm, knowing that he could feel her emotions and that would only make matters worse for Legede.
Picking herself off the floor, the woman made her way to the door. Instead of opening it, she just pressed against the wood, leaning on her arms to keep her steady. It was becomming difficult to breathe or to stop crying.
What had she done?

Sario closed her eyes, swallowed and called back in a quiet voice.
"I'm here, Legede. I'm here."

Why? Why?
Sario couldn't find an answer. It just happened in her eyes and yet she had complete control of her own actions. She could've blown Talli away if she wanted to.
So why didn't she do that instead? Why did she have to go and hurt the one person she loved? She hurt Legede, when she promised she would be there for him, that she would wait for him.
She couldn't answer that question, because it only brought a flood of new ones. All the same but left each excuse to be worthless.
Feeling sick again, Sario clutched her stomach with both hands, which caused her to fall forward against the door and onto her knees. The only thing she could do was sob back.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry!"

"I...I wasn't thinking and I didn't expect all of this to happen," Sario put her face into her hands, rocking on her legs again. "All I wanted to do was heal Talli...I didn't mean for this to happen."
How could it have escalade?


Talli stood a few feet away from Legede, listening silently.

"Legede..." Sario stood up and forced herself to open the door after his last remark, but found that he was no longer in the room. She turned her head to look at Talli, who was taken aback by her tear stained face.
He took a step toward her, watching her face fall and her shoulders shake with sobs.
"Sario," he called, seeming to break her out of the trance.
Instantly her green eyes flashed with fear and hatred. "Stay away from me," she hissed, "you...You've done nothing but brought pain to me and to Legede."
He held up his hands, blinking before he shook his head. "Calm down, luv. Don't be like him, just give yourself a minute and take a deep breath."
"No! Last time I did that you...You had no right to do this to me! You had no right!" she screamed, arms braced against the door frame as more tears streamed down her cheeks. "Now he has to suffer! And it's all my fault!"
He tried reaching out to her, "Sar...I only wanted what was best for you...I...I love y-" he was suddenly cut off, a bang sounding from the room as the rogue flew across it and into the wall.
"STOP IT! If you want to do something for me, then go back from wherever you came from! I don't even care if it's hell! You're healed now, and I want nothing more from you! NOTHING!" before she could have another breakdown, the woman darted out of the room and stumbled her way down the hall.
Talli was left alone now, his head swimming with the aftermath of what merely happened an hour ago.
