Legolas knew he had promised Aragorn that he would see if he was still well, but carrying Sallia to her room and worrying about his friend had drained the prince of what little strength he had. He was still recovering after all and, without much of a thought, he slipped into bed next to Sallia.
He held his wife to him as he slept, falling into the dreams of Elvenkind.

It wasn't until later in the night that she awoke, eyelids opening abruptly. She was silent, doing her best not to tremble. She kept dreaming of fire and flames, of Eden Cuil burning... Being back didn't help any.
She laid awake and deep in thought, suddenly aware of her surroundings. She was in her room? The last place she remembered was the hall... Legolas. He was holding her close to him, which made her smile some; so he had taken care of her. She didn't move an inch, looking around the room; the moonlight seemed to cut puzzle-pieces on the walls. Already she could imagine it in flames.
What did it all mean? Certainly, she was mistaken, or it was from the battle she had to face....
**You've been having these for the past two months, dear....** she corrected mentally. So it wasn't the war.
She knew that part of it had to be her fears. She couldn't stand the thought of losing any of them.... It terrified her. Whoever it was they were up against now, they had to be taken out. She couldn't let that happen.
She moved to snuggle closer to Legolas, finding it hard to fall asleep after what she saw.

Legolas felt her movements. He blinked his eyes, letting the glaze fall from them, as his gaze rested on his wife.
"Sallia?" he whispered, wondering what had woken the woman.

Sallia blinked twice. Right on the money. She had barely moved an inch and he was awake.....
Talk about a light sleeper.
She paused for a second, trying to think of an excuse. Already anything she said would be tossed aside as a lie. She was stuck. But she could try.
"I was cold for a moment there, meleth nin." she whispered, moving closer. "I thought that the balcony was open." She hardly made eyecontact, burying her head in his chest. "I think I was mistaken."
No, she was already caught, she could tell... or was she? Legolas knew her better than that, but it sounded logical, didn't it?

"Sallia, it is not cold enough outside for you to feel it from here. I stood on the balcony earlier in the evening and, though the wind was harsh, the temperature was hardly even noticable." Legolas replied, "What is wrong?"

Totally busted. What else could she expect from him? He knew her better than she knew herself sometimes.
Knowing she would have felt guilty about lying to him anyhow, she came out and told him about her dream in explicit detail; the raids, the fire, the deaths of certain people.... She was calm about it; she had gained more control over her emotions as of late, but it still disturbed her without fail.
"I've been getting it for months..." she finished, looking up into his eyes. "I think it's just that I'm afraid, at least that's what I'm hoping. We need to destroy whoever it is we're up against... I have a bad feeling." She moved closer to him, craving security, something she hadn't done in a very long time. She was usually more confident and assured about these things, but Legolas could see right through her. For once, he was her protector, instead of herself; she didn't mind in the slightest. After all, in a sense, she was his.
"Will Nufeniel be tried tomorrow?" she asked quietly, meeting eyes with her beloved once more. "Do you think she'll be executed?"

"Do we even need a trial?" Legolas asked, his voice taking on a hint of iciness. "I have yet to decide wether to execute her, or simply keep her locked away for all of her immortal days. If we do the latter, we will have to find some way to keep her from speaking. And, while I do have some ideas on that, none of them are too pleasant." he sighed, closing his eyes for a moment. "But your dream worries me, meleth nin. Tell me again, who was it you saw die?"

Sallia closed her eyes, wincing a bit. "Legede....Decapitation. Sario....Stabbed. Legolia, beaten, burned. Your father was overtaken by orcs... You were shot with an arrow, but you were fighting someone... It wasn't a clean fight. He stabbed you.... You fell..." She was finding it harder to speak as she continued. "You were deeply pained, but still alive... A sword through the back, and into the ground... Spears from all directions.... Through you, piercing the earth. They decapitated you, and raised your head towards the army... Eden Cuil fell.... Your head was tossed into the fires. Civilians were burned alive..." She was beginning to feel sick. "I don't know where I was watching this from... I was overtaken as well. I remember screaming.... Shanra and the woman I know now as Alandis were holding off attackers from the Healing Wing, but the doors won't hold...I...I..." One hand moved to her mouth, and she was doing everything in her power to control her tears. "Vala. They took Vala, and he was screaming for you, for me, for Thranduil or anyone... Xarik'n saved him, but was wounded...." She looked up at him. "Do you think it a premonition, meleth nin?"

Legolas suddenly felt very cold. He held Sallia closer to him as he sighed.
"I... I do not know... My dreams have been dark of late, but nothing compared to your own. Perhaps it would be wise to strike sooner rather than latter?" he asked.
"Or... perhaps it is already too late?" a feminine voice spoke from the shadows, laughing and taunting.
Legolas looked to the spot it came from, but suddenly it seemed that all the walls were mocking them. Standing, the prince helped Sallia to her feet.
"Run..." the blond Elf whispered to her, nodding toward the doorway. "I will not have you fall. You are too exhausted."

Sallia wasn't sure what to do. She was tired to an extent, but she couldn't just leave Legolas....
**Xarik'n...Emergency...** she thought, hand clenched around the hilt of Nazaroth's sword. Shoving Legolas out the door and into the hallway, she refused to leave him while saving herself; he had just gotten over the poison, and she'd be damned if she had spent 3 years in the wilderness only to run now. "GO!!!" she shouted, continuing to push him ahead as she ran, careful not to knock him over. "Find help!!!!!"

But the shadow blocked their path, falling upon them and turning into Melkor.
"Foolish Elves..." she smirked, standing tall enough to fill the doorway, bettwen the couple and the hall. "I come with words or parley on this morn... I come with a truce... for now."
Legolas shook his head, now standing in front of Sallia, "Why should we trust you?"
"Because you have no choice, princling... you have no choice at all." She smiled, "But come, let us speak like civil beings. I wish for my servant to be returned to me. If you do this... I will stop what is to come."
"To come?" Legolas asked.
She nodded, "Death comes, for one of your friends. In fact, it has claimed this one you hold dear just this night. But death comes yet again, and not by my hand. If you agree... I will left this one live."

Sallia was silent, glaring at the woman. Where was Xarik'n?!!!
**Xarik'n....**
"Who do you mean?" Her voice was a low growl, fierce, defensive. "And what do you mean when you say, not by your hand?"

"Right now, a feud rages between three members of this household." Melkor said with a smile, "Two will try to kill one another, one will succeed. If you hand over my servant, I will save that one's life and destroy the other."
Legolas shook his head, "How can we believe you?"
But the woman's smile simply grew, "You can not... But I tell you now, if you refuse my offer, I will strike hard at you once more and, worse, I will let this one die."

IT was then that Xarik'n and Sario appeared in the room, courtesy of Xarik'n's Dimension/Teleporting Ability Service....
He was starting to feel like a bus.
"Wow, you weren't kidding..." He glanced over to Sallia, brandishing his staff. "Do you have any idea who this is???"
She didn't say anything...so...no.
"Melkor... It's been a while since I've seen you. What brings you around these parts?" he asked, focusing intently on the woman. "Same thing as always??? Couldn't you be more original?" He raised an eyebrow with a small smirk. If anyone held a chance against her, he probably had the best of them.....Though, needless to say, it still sucked. And protecting these three? Tough. "Regardless of who lives or dies, you're still allowing one to die, and one to live..." Xarik'n pointed out, carefully analyzing her words. "Your deal might be more appealing if you saved both of them."
Sallia was edgy. There had to be a way.... She glanced to Sario, eyes widening slightly.
**The necklace...Sario, either keep the necklace or give it to Xarik'n... Don't let her get that, alright???**
Even if they did escape, Melkor was still here... As were over half of the people in the castle, peacefully sleeping. Was this her nightmare materializing...?
She began to debate; if she could figure out who it was she was talking about, she might be able to find them, and heal the one meant to die. She wouldn't have the energy to sustain herself, though... Another problem. There weren't too many options they could make in this situation.
She glanced to Legolas, waiting to see what he would do, as well as Xarik'n. They each knew more about this opponent than she did...

Sario stood slightly behind Xarik'n, her eyes focused on Melkor. She was confused at the words, having just come in on the conversation.
But then Sallia's voice entered her mind. Looking to the woman, the Maia shrugged her shoulders, waving her hand over her chest. After that, she mouthed one word to her.
Legolia.
She didn't have the necklace, so they were safe.
