((Yeah, that's true. Well, incorporate him as you will~))
Sothe and Edward made their way up to the castle, all the guards frozen in stone. The thief paused a while to look at a few of them before making his way up the spiral staircase to Micaiah's room. Opening the door slowly, Sothe looked around, spotting a note on her desk.
Sothe-- I figured that you would come by eventually and knowing you, you'd figure out some way to get passed my guards. In this case, I have left a note for you. I am in a village out by the Daein-Crimea border. The people there have been impoverished and are in need of help. I have gone to do so, but will send a messenger upon my return. Stay safe~ ---Micaiah~
Sothe sighed, "Great..."

"Crud." Edward said as he saw Sothe's expression. "She's not around, is she?" he peeked over his friend's shoulder and looked over the note. "Well, let's head for Crimea then. Maybe we'll find that Ike guy you always talk about!" He turned around and left her room, making his way through the Keep out to the streets once again and finally into the country, turning west toward Crimea.

Sothe followed along behind him, rubbing his arm nervously, Micaiah's note in his back pocket. "Ike is a wonderful leader, don't get me wrong, but Micaiah's never been much of a fan of him. Maybe seeing him isn't the best idea."

Edward stopped dead in his tracks, spun around, and glared at Sothe. "Look around, idiot!" He waved his arm through the air. "Remember what we've seen in the towns and villages! WE CAN'T BE PICKY ABOUT WHO WE FIND. I know Micaiah isn't his biggest fan, but we don't have much of a choice about it right now! Would you rather go to Begnion? You know they're not the happiest with us right now! And what about Queen Elincia? I remember hearing she is a very kind and just ruler." He turned around again and kept walking as the grief of what had happened to the world crashed down on him.

Sothe sighed, walking up next to the boy, ruffling his hair again. "Yeah, you're right. And just so you know, Elincia is a good ruler. She's very kind and understanding. Although she can also be a pain," he added, remembering a time he tried to filch something from her pegasus' saddle bag.

"Okay. That's cool." Edward looked up at the sky, seeing as the sun was setting. "We should probably cover as much ground as possible, but there's no sense traveling at night. So we keep going now and stop soon?" Crimea would be a couple days' walk at least.

Sothe laughed. "What? Is the little boy afraid afraid of the dark?" he mocked, knowing that thieves worked all their magic in the cloak of darkness. "But yes, that works as well. We don't want to tire ourselves before the battle begins," the rogue commented, fingering the hilt of one of his many daggers strapped to his hip.

Soren sighed, feeling depressed at the lack of life around him. He felt like he was the last creature on the continent as he slowly made his way through Crimea until he found a shelter of trees and rocks. "Whew. I suppose this is as good as any other place to stop for the night..." His stomach growled, reminding him he hadn't eaten since that morning.

"What's to be afraid of? Everyone's been turned to stone, remember? But I'm tired and, to be honest, my feet are starting to hurt. We've covered a lot of distance between Nevassa and the border." Edward stared at Sothe's hand, resting on one of his daggers. "Just promise me you're not going to slit my throat out of nowhere." He laughed, and continued on.

Sothe loosed a bark of a laugh. "I wouldn't waste my time killing you kiddo. I could just as easily kill a jack rabbit," he joked, adjusting the collar of his shirt. "Besides, I don't have any more polish for my daggers and without that, they'll rust if any blood remains on them."

"That may be true, I think... but think about how fast a rabbit is. I'm faster than that. You'd have to catch me first! And besides," he unsheathed his sword and flipped it in his hand. "Rabbits can't fight back." He grinned.

The rogue raised an eyebrow, grinning. "You think you can take me? We'll see when we make camp. You can take me on then," he said, watching as the sun began to fall, creating an array of pastel colors. Sothe smiled softly. Micaiah would love to see a sunset like this.

Edward, out of nowhere, tackled his friend and stared in disbelief. "You! Are! Smiling! Who are you and what have you done with Sothe?!" He stood up and nearly doubled over laughing. "Sorry about that." He looked at the sun's position. "We can probably move on a little bit longer... Unless you want to stop now."
