How much longer do you think you'll be buying CV games for?
I'll be old and wrinkly before I give CV up!
  Hmm, maybe 50 years tops?
Probably for the next 25 years and I'll be done.
I doubt I'll still be buying them after 10 years.
I might still buy a few good ones for the next 5 years.
I'm just gonna keep playing the ones I got now.
What's the use? The world's gonna end in 2012! lol

Since we reached a new page and the previous question was pretty much settled, I think it's time for a new question:

Do you have any CV pet peeves?

Mine are quite a few but I'll list only the most important ones or the ones I can think of right away:

1. I hate how some games have been made to have horrifically high difficulty levels. I have never been able to finish the following games because of it:
* The first CV game on the NES.
* CV Dracula X on the SNES
* Rondo of Blood (from the chronicles game for PSP)
* The remake in 2.5D of Rondo from the same Chronicles game.
* CV Legends (I tried a ROM and I couldn't even get to the first boss)
* The Nintendo 64 games. The camera on the first one was awful and I always fell to my doom! And the Legacy of Darkness game got waaay too tough on the scene where there was nothing other than molten lava everywhere and some stupid blades and spikes making things even harder than they needed to be.

2. I hate how the extra modes of play in most of the recent games are so... what's the word? That's not so important, the point is that they make things less interesting and much harder by not allowing use of items, no menu screen and most of the times, lousy endings. I don't even want to mention Axe Armor Mode in PoR, I totally hated that one! stressed

3. I hate that the ones in charge of the saga and the story line keep removing characters without consulting the fans. Just look at poor Sonia Belmont! IGA just went ahead and removed her as if she was nothing! Not to mention they never seem to re-release games that truly deserve it like Simon's Quest just to name one.

4. And finally, I completely disliked how they made certain characters look. First it was Juste being an albino (that was really creepy and unsettling for me) and then it was DoS being released in anime form. I hated how most of the characters looked in that art style. I didn't mind the ones in PoR as much but, I do dislike the art of the characters in Judgment. Especially Dracula and it's not exactly anime, is it?

That's it for me, does anyone else have any pet peeves or share my own?

Jinzouki
I've seen a continuing trend of Dracula stealing their bride/wife/fiance/friend/children/teacher and in some occasions brainwashing them into evil/corrupting them otherwise. So in short, most are out for revenge.

I've noticed that as well.
I'm starting to wonder why women even bother going around the Belmonts at all!

Well I'm just surprised nobody seems to have any pet peeves other than the ones I posted. eek

Hey Mistress! Maybe the Belmonts have super sex appeal that allows them to attract women instantly. That's how they are able to preserve their line, you know? After all, life would be very boring for Dracula if he didn't have a Belmont to fight with. mrgreen

He-he, I wouldn't say that... After all, combat can also bring out the worst out of people, you know?

Say, why not ask another question like the one you wanted to ask a while back?

Do you like CV games better in 2D or in 3D?

I, for one, don't mind whether it's one or the other, just as long as they are well made. I hated the games for the N64 cuz of the lousy camera on the first one and I disliked Legacy of Darkness cuz it had waaaaaay to many jumps. I just couldn't get past the stage with all the spikes, blades and lava around.
However, I liked LoI and CoD cuz they were done in a much better way. I didn't miss not having death jumps at all! In fact, it was a blessing not dying from stuff like that. 3nodding

Like you, I don't mind if it's one or the other either. Just as long as they are well made.

I actually really enjoyed the games for N64 though, especially Legacy of Darkness. The reason I enjoy those so much is also the reason why you hate them, haha. They had a lot of platforming elements, which is what the classic Castlevania games had, so I was fine with the difficulty. But like you said, the camera wasn't that great and I wished there was more to the combat system.

I enjoyed LoI somewhat, but I really didn't like CoD that much. I felt both had really bad level design and the stages were very repetitive. I hated the story of CoD though, which is probably why I didn't like it so much. Overall though, I did enjoy the music, look, and atmosphere of both games.

I always thought, and still do, that if they mixed elements from the N64 titles(such as the platforming and level design) with the PS2 titles(like the overall look and prettiness) then we would have a really great 3D Castlevania game.

He-he, that is quite funny Koru. I might have enjoyed Legacy more if it didn't have as many blades on that particular stage with the lava.

I am hoping that the new game for PS3 and X-Box 360 will be a mix of those. I would have enjoyed CoD even more if it had some of the elements from Legacy like the vampires who turn you or the element of fear that you felt after being chased by that invulnerable enemy with the chain saw. That was pretty cool!

If anybody feels like answering any of the previous questions, they can still do so. 3nodding

Is that a question? xd

Cuz if anybody does have a question they'd like to ask everyone else then it would be preferable to do so in the following fashion:

1. Think of a question that isn't help related.
2. Put it in "bold" so we can all notice it and if you want, change the color of the font so it will be even more noticeable.
In order to "bold" your post, just encase it within these characters: "[ b ][ /b ]". The thing is, you have to eliminate the spaces or it won't show up in bold.

I have some ideas for questions but I feel as if I should let others post for now. 3nodding
