Tasaaki went wide eyed when she saw the hybrid jump... only to land in a cave that had... a 10 foot drop to the ground. Wincing, and hoping she had the strength, she nudged her brother forward. "Hisoka... stand here, where she said to stand."

Hisoka paled when he saw what the hybrid did, and then when Tasaaki pushed him toward the spot. He watched as she backed up, and charged... straight into him. That gave him a head start, and he landed a bit clumsily, nearly falling flat on his face.

Taking a deep breath, Tasaaki charged at her brother, giving him a start. Then, standing in the same area where her brother and the hybrid had once stood, she crouched, and with a breath, leapt across, barely making it as she scrambled toward the cave entrance. "We... made it. Let's go," she panted, and with her brother trailing after her, they followed the snow-coat colored hybrid into the cave.

She was mildly pleased when they entered the cave, but did not show it. She sat in front of a small but warm fire, already having laid out meat and berries, and anything else they might want, on the dry ground of the cave. It was indeed a cozy little dwelling that she had made for herself - and it always had extra food in it, just in case she did not wish to go out an hunt. It was spacious, yet not too large - she only liked wide-open spaces on the most rare of occassions.

"Help yourselves." she said simply, lowering her top half to the ground so as to lay down and watch them over the fire, her golden eyes earning an even richer hue as a result of the red-orange light. "And I would like to know the name of those I have chosen to assist, while you're at it."

Tasaaki bowed, Foxen style. "Thank you for your hospitality. As you most likely know, my brother and I are Foxen. My name is Tasaaki. This is my younger brother, Hisoka." Tasaaki sat and watched her brother. "Go ahead Hisoka," she whispered gently.

Hisoka bowed in the Foxen style as well. "Um... Th-Thank you for your hospitality, Regal One. I am Hisoka, the squirrel upon my back, Tsuzuki." He quickly moved over to the meat and began to eat, although he ate slowly and politely. This was that hybrid's cave home, after all.

Tasaaki followed suit with her brother, watching as Tsuzuki flitted over to the berries and all began to eat. "I hope it's now rude..." she began, looking over to the hybrid, her ruby eyes meeting the glistening gold eyes of the hybrid. "...but, what is your name, and... what... what are you?"

Tasaaki and Hisoka...fair enough. She watched them carefully, making little mental notes about the foxen...seemingly ignoring Tasaaki's questions. Ah, but she heard her, and planned on responding - but on her own time.

Normally, whenever she met others, they were too intimidated to question her in any way. Understandably so - everyone fears that which they do not understand. But younger creatures were more receptive, not holding the unnatural fear of certain things that life tends to implant on one's mind. This was evident in the actions of the two Foxen in front of her. Well...it could be - they might just be hungry, though. Whatever the case, the fact that they didn't seem too afraid of her was good...

Not that fear was a bad thing. Reverential fear, at least.

"I am called Phaidra." she said finally, dipping her head a little and closing her eyes. "And I do not know if it will hold any significance for you, as you may not know what I am even if I tell you...but I am an Aviandra."

Tasaaki looked up from her eating. "An Aviandra? I've never heard of your kind. Are you the only one, Miss Phaidra?" Tasaaki looked into the hybrid's golden eyes curiously, her own scarlet colored eyes sparking with interest. She had led her brother far from their usual territory--Mikel might be worried about us..., she mentally winced--but she felt safe here in the Aviandra's home. "Are you... a Guardian?" she asked, knowing that a "Regal Hybrid" would be called one, or at least that was what she'd heard.

Hisoka simply ignored the entire conversation. He was far too hungry to actually pay attention anyway. Oooh... rabbit meat, delish... he purred quietly to himself, thrilled and happy.

"I do not know, but if there are others, I have not met them as of yet." she answered. The cat-like creature stared directly at the fire...but not for any particular reason. The fact that she could be the only one of her kind did not phase her as it might most - so what if she was the only one? Less competition. More time for herself.

"That I am." she said, "I ensure that this frozen land never be harmed by anyone, Hybrid or human." Especially the latter, she wanted to add. But instead, she added this - "As such, I care not for Houses or Clans. I do not protect this for the Clan currently taking residence here. I protect it because it is my duty, and I assure you that any Clan or House or human or hybrid that does harm this land will fall by my talon and by my power."

Her words were just as before - calm, not threatening...but powerful. Bold statement? Incredibly. Did she care? Not in the least. She dared one of the leaders to harm her land. And she would make that public if need be.

At least...that's how she felt right now.

Her eyes shifted downward to Hisoka, who seemed...quite content. Immediately, her demeanor switched, holding no remnant of the seething, daring words she just spoke - instead, an air of slight humor. "Well I see that you're quite happy, young one."

Tasaaki couldn't help it. She was the beta for her Clan, so she felt just a little cautious. She relaxed a little as the demeanor of Phaidra shifted, and also looked to her younger brother, to whom she rolled her eyes and a small, slight smile could be seen.

Hisoka finished eating and blinked his sapphire eyes up at the Aviandra, then smile happily. "Yes, Miss Phaidra!" he said cheerfully but politely. Hisoka then noticed that Tasaaki was also watching him, the coloring of her eyes making it seem as if fire was dancing within them (well... flame WAS her element, right? Darkness was his...) Hisoka's eyes began to feel droopy. "Uh... sorry, Miss Phaidra, but I'm feeling a bit sleepy now..." he murmured, and promptly fell asleep, warm, comfortable, and full.

Tasaaki gave a soft laugh, and lay down next to her brother. "Forgive him, Miss Phaidra. He is very tired, with the warmth of the fire and the comfortable atmosphere--including a warm stomach--he fell asleep. I hope you don't mind him taking a small nap?" Tasaaki herself was feeling sleepy, but wanted to stay awake so that it wasn't anymore rude to their hostess.

"It is quite alright. I'm glad he's comfortable enough to sleep here - you two are safer in my presence than you are anywhere else on this tundra, so please, make yourselves at home."

Her rather...abrupt change of personality was noticable, but completely smooth - almost natural, like a cloud passing over the sun. She barely even noticed it herself. Would it last? Not likely, but that was fine - these Hybrids were obviously not too phased. And on that note, Phaidra decided she liked these two. These ones, she decided, deserved her help in the future, should they ever need it..and should she be in the mood to help. Shoulda woulda coulda. Regardless, yes, she'd have to make a mental note of that....

"Tell me," she said suddenly - noticing the slight weariness of Tasaaki, but disregarding it for the moment - "why were you two out alone? Empty and barren, perhaps, but this place is dangerous in its own right."

Tasaaki blinked at the sudden question, but answered nonetheless. "Yes, it is dangerous," she said, loud enough for Phaidra to hear, softly enough that it didn't disturb her brother. "My Clan just came here from the upper North. It has more game, but as we went hunting, my brother and I got seperated from the Clan in a fierce snowstorm that came about suddenly. It could not be helped: my brother and I got lost, which is why we were up late the night before hunting for food and for our Clan. I do hope that the Clan is not too worried, though..." she whispered, before her eyes drooped to a close. "If you want, the leader of my Clan is called Mikel. He is our alpha... I am the beta. Thank you for your hospitality again, Miss Phaidra." Tasaaki promptly fell asleep.

Phaidra closed her eyes and smiled, chuckling from deep within her throat. Kids......well, they could sleep for a while. After that, she decided, she would take them back to their Clan - perhaps she could find out the state of those living in her territory, find out their intentions...make sure they weren't harming her land. Yes. If she still felt like it, that is. Maybe she would, maybe not. For their sake, she had better be.

She let her head rest upon her paws, watching the fire, thinking, from that point on. She did not move, she did not tsleep - the statue, the stone saint was still again.

Tasaaki yawned quietly as she opened her bleary, ruby eyes, blinking when the world showed her a blurry view instead of a clear. Standing up and shaking herself to wake up thouroughly, memory surged through her mind as she recalled the past few days events. Hunting with the Clan, the blizzard, seperation, and then Phaidra the Aviandra... Was it pure luck that we landed in her paws of safety? Tasaaki thought, watching her brother.

Hisoka snored softly and then gave a small, quiet whimper. Restless, he woke and yawned quietly, then looked around to get his bearings. Ah! That's right! he thought, and looked up to see Tasaaki watching him. "Uh, hi, Tas," he said awkwardly, a little embarrassed as he remembered the last few days.

"Good morning, Hisoka," Tasaaki said, amusement in her tone. She glanced over to Phaidra, who looked like a statue... she hadn't moved, hadn't blinked, nothing. It was a bit creepy...

((I hope you dun mind me doing this >.> If you do, just ask me, and I'll edit the post..but I really wanna try out the abilities that the See-ers stone gives her XD Just for a smidge))

It was as if she suddenly came to life. Almost..naturally, her motionless eyes just flicked t'wards the two as they awoke. She became animated again...sort of. Her fail flicked, and her eyes moved - that was about it. Eh, she didn't feel like actually moving yet. Hmmm....she could-...well, why not.

Hunting with the Clan, the blizzard, seperation, and then Phaidra the Aviandra... Was it pure luck that we landed in her paws of safety?

Ah! That's right!

What could she say - the male was a little bland.

Either way, she could have a little fun. The strange stone seemingly 'a part' of her body let her have such fun....she didn't even know its name, but she knew what it did. The colorful, shimmering, predominately-blue stone let her see into the minds of others, into their deepest thoughts, the ones they would reveal to no one else....

...gave her a rather bad outlook on most Hybrids, too. One could only guess why. Hah.

Of course, it also let her comment on those thoughts that she found - implant her own imput into the mind of her 'victim'. Quite handy...quite irritating. Everything had two sides, at least. Anyway.

"It's amazing how often luck and Fate coincide. And it's even more amazing how, when they are independant of one another, people have a hard telling which is which." she said...not even looking at Tasaaki, but speaking directly to her mind. Why? No reason, really, though there are those that could contest that fact.

That being done, she spoke normally, verbally, as if nothing had happened. "You two may eat breakfast if you'd like. And after that, if you'd like, I can escort you back to your Clan."

((Do as you wish. X3 This is interesting! I wish I could have Tasaaki find a power stone. I'm not sure how to go about it though.))

Tasaaki blinked as thoughts not her own entered her mind in rapid succession, It's amazing how often luck and Fate coincide. And it's even more amazing how, when they are independant of one another, people have a hard telling which is which. Shrugging off the strange thought, Tasaaki focused into the real world so that she could respond to Phaidra. "Good morn, Miss Phaidra. I hope you had a peaceful night? And again, thank you for your hospitality." Tasaaki began to eat, surprised that she was still hungry even as she had eaten her fill the night before.

Hisoka watched the exchange, useless and innocent thoughts bouncing about his head. He let it be that way because he liked to protect his innermost thoughts, especially in the case of someone able to mind-read... but that still didn't keep him from thinking, Okay. I swore I heard Phaidra's voice in my head a minute ago. Does she had a particular power to read minds? I hope not. It means she might be dangerous... no. I shouldn't that. She gave us food and shelter, and for that I am grateful. I should be thanking her, not acting like an idiot... actually, maybe I should keep acting like an idiot... Chuckling mentally at himself, Hisoka, too began to eat his fill.

((Sapphy made it sound as if they would be available in the store, eventually ;O Maybe j00 could get one then! <3))

"Good morning. And I did...and you're welcome." she said, a grin threatening to cross her features. It did not manage such a feat, though - it was rare that she actually smiled anyway. Not because she was gloomy or something...she just didn't smile that much. One shouldn't have to smile for others to know that they were happy, after all.

She choose not to pry their minds any more than she had - it got irritating rather quickly. Still unmoving, she watched them eat, waiting patiently for them to finish. She herself...was a little hungry, but she wanted to hunt in the lands further south, get some different meat this time, and fly it back to her snowy home. T'was easier in the warmer areas, anyway, as much as being 'warm' irritated her. An Aviandra with the element of Sacred Snow didn't belong in warmer climates; Phaidra would visit them, sure, but live there? Highly unlikely. No - she'd stay here, protect and better her territory, and make sure that those of the Clan these two belonged to would do nothing to hinder her progress.

((Methinks you better fix your post. X3 Really? I hope so. Tasaaki's been named beta of Elsin Clan, and I'm not sure exactly what my job is yet... or rather, Tas's job. X3))

Tasaaki finished her meal, and then closed her eyes for a few minutes to let it dijest in her stomach. She was torn in her decision between letting Phaidra see her Clan or escorting Hisoka and her to see the Clan. It seemed to her like a lose-lose situation, for Phaidra would see the Elsin Clan one way or another. Her Clan only came for more prey, and from the way Phaidra acted, she would make sure her Clan hindered not the Aviandra, for she would be a fearsome opponent indeed.

Likewise, Hisoka finished his breakfast, and stretched, his way of digesting his food. "Are we going now?" he asked, blue eyes looking from one to the other. He was full and content, but he didn't want to seem too eager to get going. He didn't like staying in an enclosed space like this. Okay, so he was claustophobic (sp?) but it didn't matter to the others, now did it? He kept such thoughts to himself and waited for an answer.
