Aaaawww.... it may be next weekend or the weekend after that before I get to go see it. So very little time! gonk

My MIL saw it, but she seems to like the three previous movies better than this one. But she also hasn't read the book either, so that may be why she wasn't too impressed.

I'm still waiting to go see it. Maybe soon though!

I've read all the books and now have seen all the movies and own the ones out!

question Do you mean like WATCHING the actual game to see who wins? because they show Ireland vs. Bulgaria at the beginning. At least they show the teams coming in and whatnot. I think they don't show the games in full because if I remember rightly they're like EXTREMELY long.

I am a huge HP fan too, and follow the rumours here in the uk smile its easier to follow them here, with the books being english and all!

I LOVED the new movie. I must say, it is my least favourite of the books, but it was the best movie in my opinion, which is bizarre!
Jeffrey and I were lucky enough to see it in london, at the big movie theatre where the premier was held! I have a pic of the big goblet of fire outside and stuff, it was amazing in the dark all lit up in blues and whites!

I was very disappointed in the prisoner of azkaban movie, it let the book down in my opinion.

I find that reading the books does alot more for me than watching the movies does. They tend to miss things out (I agree about missing out the world cup, I was excited about seeing that!)

Which was your favourtie HP book out of the set?

I finally saw GoF today and I have to say that while I thought the opening rocked and set a nice tone, the rest of the movie really let me down. GoF is my favorite HP book out of the series because it has a great plot, wonderful characters and some of the funniest scenes out of the entire series. But the movie was so anemic and even the character personality portrayals were HORRID in this one, totally not how they are depicted in the book. I can usually stand cutting out events and such, like I understand why they didn't go into the stuff about houselves and Winky and adjusted for that, but for the love of all things, don't mess with their personalities and make them totally different characters then they're supposed to be! scream That is what made me most angry of all. Almost all the main characters in that movie were not acting in the least how the book portrays them.

And seriously, they totally left out veelas...you get to see a leprechaun firework display and then the Bulgarians just plowed through it and they don't at least let you know who WON the match.

The original idea they had for releasing that movie would have worked much better: release it in halves so it could have been longer without killing an audience so they could have tried to keep the plot and characters better intact. It just moved too fast and breezed over everything and then came up with weak reasons to explain it all and hoped it would work. GoF isn't exactly a book where you can skimp on the details. It's all connected and that's what I've always liked about the HP series: the further along you get, the more devil is in the details and you'd better pay attention.

YES, I understand it's just a movie and movies never measure up to books, but I really feel they could have adapted this better and because so many people hyped it up for me, I was all the more dissappointed when I saw what they actually released.

So I finally broke down and started reading the books. I just couldn't stand the fact that there is so much in the films they never explain. Boy are they easy to read and very enjoyable. I'm through the first and half the second. I just can't wait for the third and forth that is where it gets confusing. Anyway yippy books!
