Yeah I remember seeing that somewhere. You'd be better off just getting the DVDs you didn't already own on DVD or video. I really only seek personal favorites myself.

Naito Oh? So I'm guess you don't recommend it, huh? There aren't enough monster actions, but certain fights in the movie are still good. I just thought it was a waste for some monsters showed up just for few seconds. I'd say watch it anyways.. just don't expect too much from it.

Final Wars looks kinda cool. I'll give it a watch whenever I get the opportunity.
I'd like to watch all the Godzilla movies, but I'd only bother buying my favorites.

Dire-Blade Final Wars looks kinda cool. I'll give it a watch whenever I get the opportunity. I'd like to watch all the Godzilla movies, but I'd only bother buying my favorites. If you haven't seen it I recommend Godzilla X Mothra X King Ghidorah: All Out Monsters Attack. Haven't tracked it down on video or DVD yet but Sci-Fi did air it once so I know it's available stateside.

I didn't watch it (just a little bit, since my mother rented it), but my little sister was like, 'That is so cool!' and, 'Oh, the bike is so awesome!' With my brother commenting, 'Hey, the Stalin guy!' The mixture of Japanese and English (how the hell do they understand each other ?! ) made my brain almost explode crying
I find it ironic that Kitamura always plays the bad guy roles (well, except in a Dorama called 'Tiger and Dragon.' Kind of not bad-guy role...). Then again, his face is always evil-looking, so to me it's no surprise.
Well, I was kind of disappointed that they didn't have much features on the US released DVD. Right now, I'm waiting to get my hands on the Japanese (pre-recorded) DVD version of Final Wars at my local Japanese market. This, was at my little sister's request crying

I liked Final Wars as a send-off. Yes, many of the monster scenes were little more than cameos, but that's because they were showing just how badass Godzilla is, and I can totally get behind that.
The movies always seem to struggle when dealing with the humans, and this film did a good job with making the characters important in their own right. It went a different direction from most Godzilla films, and it worked for me.
Of course, I'm a fan of Ryuhei Kitamura, Tak Sakaguchi, and Godzilla, so it's pretty much a given that I'd like a Godzilla movie directed by Kitamura and cameoing Sakaguchi.
GMKG is still a better movie (and arguably the best since the original), but I enjoyed Final Wars more.

Naito Good luck. *looks at Seger's sig* What a snazzy dresser... Thanks. Already saw it, too. Oh, and that 'guy' in my sig, is actually a comedian by the name of Hard Gay razz He's pretty creepy, so I figured that I'd make a sig, and scare the kiddies around here XD Anyways, saw the DVD, but it didn't really offer much in the extra department (options were seeing the scenes of certain monsters, and trailers). Then, they had the option were the guys who spoke English, was dubbed into Japanese XD I kind of didn't like the 'Matrix' fighting really...just felt like it was one of those Hollywood mimics... Ahhh...and the mix of Japanese and English really confused me ><; But, yeah, I really enjoyed seeing all the kaijis from the previous series. Makes me want to go out and rent/buy them!

I bought Final Wars yesterday. I watched it today. I'm confused with the title. Why does Godzilla's name show up in it?
I was watching a high budget japanese rip of several hollywood action movie franchises. It was the "Japanese X-Men Matrix Independance Day Saturday Morning Cartoon turned real Movie".
From x-men: Mutants, and the constant use of the letter X
From Matrix: camera tricks. hero is a japanese look-alike of Keanu Reeves. when he "awakens", light climbs up in strings like matrix code. he stops lasers like Neo stops bullets. he does a few other Neo things too.
from independance day: suicidal pilot flies into ufo and destroys shield core.
Black Hawk Down: the mutant force gunning down the enemy in a very yellow wasteland style city scape.
Saturday morning cartoon: basic plot, villain freaking out like a kid throwing a tantrum.
Godzilla (american version): they had the computer model of the american godzilla, or a look-alike, and totally trashed it. Japan's way of saying, "Ours is better and you Americans can't do anything about it." Kaiju Patriotism. I still like the monster suit better than the american version.
All around giant monster action was directed much the way the Ultraman series was. It didn't feel cinematic. It felt very television, although special effects were high. Compared to Godzilla 2000.... it just wasn't too great.
I regret spending money on it.
I still want to watch Tokyo SOS and Godzilla X MechaGodzilla. Worth buying those two, yes or no?

I still haven't seen Tokyo SOS & X MechaGodzilla yet so I can't really say. I just know I like the origin of Kiryu's creation.
