Star_Lily I think River is such an intriguing character because she's broken. If she wan't crazy, everyone would be like "she is such a Mary-Sue" and no one would like her at all. exactly. how often are we allowed to see a 'broken' character? it's as painful as it is fascinating.

AldreaOrcinae I swear the guy with the Wash avatar sounds just like Wash would. It's hilarious. Star_Lily I think River is such an intriguing character because she's broken. If she wan't crazy, everyone would be like "she is such a Mary-Sue" and no one would like her at all.

Well, I think in roleplay, Mary Sues can be seen as a form of godmoding. No one is perfect. But I do agree that characters don't need a really big character flaw. I think with River, because she has all these amazing abilities, she needed something crippling to balance her out.

Some people do get a little over sensitive when rping, or whatever situation brings it up.

If Joss could take the story further, do you think having the secret of Miranda broadcast will help River be not as crazy. She'd still be crazy because Blue Sun stripped her amygdala.
