My husband wanted to buy me a large engagement ring, but he wanted me to pick it out, to make sure he got it right. Fortunately he hadn't bought it yet. I told him I refuse to wear blood diamonds and also that I didn't need something flashy to show that he loves me. So I have a plain wedding band, no engagement ring, because to me the vows he made are much more important then what size rock he could afford.

Okay this annoys me. Ed sent a air force coin inside of his letter as a gift with his last letter. And apparently I saw a clever small slit in the side of the envelope...someone stole the coin. o-o;
Gar postal men! stressed

Ohhh that sucks!!!!! Maybe he can send you another? You should tell him to wrap it up in a paper so its harder to detect.
Oh before I left, Chris gave me an envelope with something in it. When I opened it, there was a letter and money inside. He said I could do whatever I wanted with the money. He gave me $400 =)
Soo I bought my tiara, veil, and wedding shoes. The rest of the money will go to my wedding dress 3nodding

Yeah I think that's why he had two extra sheets of paper in the envelope. I didn't even notice another slit in the letter till I read his letter and realized that was probably what happened. Oh well. xD Apparently people collect them and they are valuable, it could of happened anywhere. I also noticed he put three stamps on the letter and my mom was all, "Uh dang stamps are 42 cents...why is he putting three on there? That's expensive." I was a little confused. I feel really bad D=, but there isn't anything I can do really. No use, he made it yay that's a amazing gift. x3
Aww how cute. Be sure to pick out a pretty dress. x3

I'll be getting my Valentines Day gift sometime soon. lol. I told him I didn't care about Valentines Day because its a stupid holiday commemorating the death of St. Valentine(even though there are three that were martyred) and it had no real purpose because I didn't need a silly gift to prove to me that he loves me. He apparently decided that April was a better day for St. Valentines Day and that I was getting a silly gift.
He told me a story about Red Beard the pirate leaving his one true love and that was supposed to be a hint as to what was inside the package. I still have no idea.

You were still kinda disappointed that he didn't send you anything then. And its a pirate costume, he wants you to wear it to pick him up.

Only because he said he got me something. I got all worked up thinking I was going to get something that wasn't rugs and then... nothing.
I swear if it is a pirate costume I'll wear it to pick him up. I'll even get the required accessories. A jug of rum, an eye patch, and golden doubloons.

What if he just sends like the eye patch or such, will you get the rest of the outfit?

Since he's been deployed its just gotten worse, he's always getting something he doesn't need. DVD's, games, civilian clothing, and just about anything else I think he might like. Its ridiculous. For Easter I sent him 4 boxes full of stuff.

Steven's always been good at making me little things like little notes and drawings.
For Christmas he got me a stuffed panda and he got me the most awesome jacket ever.
When he was in a-school he would send me shirts that he thought were cool, then he sent me stuff for Valentine's Day, right before he left for Japan. It was a huuge stuffed bear (life sized) with some cute clothes, a caduceus pin, my favorite snacks and he gave me his dixie cup from boot camp. heart It's all dirty and has his name stamped on it and everything.
Now that he's in Japan he send me cool little Japanese things all the time. x3

It contained a Russian doll which was in Traditional Muslim garb, a spy glass(we're pirates:]), a rock heart from Ireland that matches his, and a map of Iraq. He told me the map was so I would know where to look with my spy glass. : ]
