Exotic_Memories going with what you said Rochili, when friends say they know what I am going through cause one time their boyfriend went on vacation for three weeks. Omg -_-; That would frustrate me. When my husband was in AIT I lived with my family and my sisters boyfriend lived about 45 mins away and she would complain about how she never got to see him during the week ( she saw him every weekend.. ) It frustrated me to no end.. xD Even though I know it's just AIT but still..

My friend compared her boyfriend going to college in another state to my husband being at NTC, then to him being deployed. My favorite was when my step-mother said she could sympathize with being separated from your spouse. She and my father haven't been apart for more then a week or two since they got married almost 18 years ago.

It just seems they have endless complaints. Were as in the military we have to learn fast to get over things otherwise we just break and it isn't pretty..

My current catch phrase is Adapt and Survive. If you are luck, Adapt, Survive, and Thrive. Along with my standard Everything ends ok, if it's not ok, its not the end. actually, I have a lot of mottos.
My step mom is difficult to get along with on the best of days I FIGURED IT OUT. My step mom is my largest pet peeve. She told me I seem more normal now, since I went shooting with my step brother. Apparently liking guns makes me normal.

My in-laws are my biggest problem.. omg.. Honestly they irk me to no end!
They just always seem.. to find problems with EVERYTHING, and to top it all off it's never their fault... I was just raised the exact opposite of how they are as people.. so it's so difficult for me to get along with them ever. talk2hand
I try and keep my husband up beat and what not or if he emails his mom about training.. she's always upset about it. Once he talked about deployment around her ( I think it was his family day in basic graduation..) and she just blurts out " well lets hope that never happens.. "
Denial is awful. I just looked at her for like 5 minutes with " are you really serious? " face..

My in-laws are pretty cool. My mother in law is a bit too much of a health nut for me, but she's cool. They are very supportive, but then again, my husband has been in the Army for almost 5 years now. He is on his second deployment and his brother is on his first deployment. She has been through it before. She's pretty cool though, whenever we are at their place she tries to cook for my diet, even though its annoying and difficult at times. Though, I did feel bad when my husband told her we weren't coming home for R and R because of money. She emailed me offering to help pay for the ticket and I had to be the one to tell her it was also because we needed alone time.
When it is time for your husbands R and R, do NOT let them bully you into spending it with them if you don't want to. R and R is not like a normal vacation.

Omg I know their going to try. Their already bothering him about coming home for pre deployment leave. Which already bothers me, I mean he IS coming home, they shouldn't be complaining about when. I never got along with them.

You will need to put your foot down about that, so will your husband. My friend and her husband went down to his families for R and R. Actually, shes watching the thread, but can't join in until a mod accepts her to the guild.

I already have. Hes kindda " babying" his parents through this entire army thing and him being deployed will hit them hard. But he already has said he doesn't want to spend his entire PDL with his family because it doesn't want it to be to overwhelming.
Oh yeah, how about those commissary prices? Another thing that bothers me.. not their prices.. but when I can't make it there in time and have to shop off post.. and end up spending alot more then I wanted. Ladies, please I insist if you aren't shopping at one, please please.. make time to do it. You will save so much.

I live off post and I'm on a restricted diet, the Commissary rarely carries gluten free food. My diet is expensive either way, so for me, with the cost of gas, its cheaper in the long run to shop off post. My friend would tell you the exact opposite.

We shop off post we found this Mexican type store and the prices are so much cheaper then the comm. My husband said even when we move on post in April we will still shop there. But we do buy gas on post or at sam's club because its expensive anywhere else in Fayetteville

Or if you have a membership at Safeway's, for every $100 you spend on groceries, you get $.10 off a gallon. I wish they had their gas station last summer when gas was $4.44 here.

I loooooooove the commissary. They have the vegg food I like and its always cheaper. Plus the fruits and veggies are very decent. At least from what I've seen in AK.
Pet Peeves.
-People who think that because I married young that I have children and the only reason I got married was because of said children.
-Comparisons of my husband being deployed and my friends girlfriends or boyfriends going away for break/college/ect.
-Colored toilet papers bugs the crap out of me.
-My neighbor parking right in front of the sidewalk and the extension cord from her car being in the sidewalk making me trip over it when its dark and I park in the front.
-DVDs that are not alphabetized unless they do them by genre in which I do not care. I also don't care if books are alphabetized because people generally don't have a lot of books.
-People who assume I love PETA. I don't.
- Women who say their FRG is stupid and won't go to one meeting. Women busted their a** back in the day so you could have the things you have now! Thats just a slap in the face to them. If your FRG is a bunch of assholes who gossip, this is different. But, refusing to go for no reason just ticks me off.
I have more but this is super long. lol
