Well, in the opinions of many in m area (There are a lot of automotive parts manufacturers here), we'd be in less trouble if the damn auto industry had been paying into the pension "safety net" thing... Can't remember what ever the official name was. At least that way, half the bail outs aren't going to pay pensions.

Around here also, though, they've been trying to hand out some money, but in a fairly ineffective way. They've ripped up all the roads and decided to replace and install piping, just so they can pay the construction workers for it. Problem being, the constructions workers that are doing, were already doing fine, considering some of those buggers make more money than should be allowed. But a lot of the companies aren't local, they're from out of town, so the money they're trying to give to our city, is really just going out to Toronto or wherever else.

I think it should really be a semi-equal balance: Give some money to small businesses, but put it out evenly, and save more for the big auto industry guys, since they employ thousands. Maybe if the UAW didn't have their heads up their asses, things would be better.
