Too Old, Too Dangerous, or Just Right? A Lupin/Tonks thread

Poor Remus has had a hard life being a werewolf. This has lowered his self-esteem the tiniest bit. His status has made him, atleast in his eyes, 'too old, too poor... too dangerous...' for a love life.

This, I believe, is the reason why Tonks has fallen in love with him. Remus has a lovable nature and is humble to the last grey hair of his head. And yet, somewhere there is that Marauder personality that no doubt Tonks has recognised.

I believe that Tonks and Lupin both want each other, and Remus believes he is not good enough for her, as shown in the quote, "I am not being ridiculous," said Lupin steadily. "Tonks deserves someone young and whole."

I believe that Lupin DOES like Tonks, and was not merely trying to shake her off. Lupin, if he does not want Tonks, would not 'refuse to meet her eyes, staring at the floor.' He wants her, but will not admit it. Not only that, but:

'Tonks, her hair miraculously returned to vividest pink; Remus Lupin, with whom she seemed to be holding hands;'

Tonks would only regain her metamorphisis powers if the thing that was blocking them was removed. Her love for Remus, I believe, and his apparent rejection of her has driven her close to insane-ness. (And they were holding hands.)

I rest my case.

And - please add me to the ship's roster!

Fantastic Beasts seems to shut down the multicolored werewolf pups theory: "Humans turn into werewolves only when bitten." (page 41)

But will they be Metamorphagi?
And I think that need to be in the Fenrir Greyback thread as well.
Although then how did the first werewolves come about?

Metamorphmaguses are extremely rare so the chance of Remus and Dora having multicolored werewolf babies is nearly 100% impossible.

Jo has once again changed some legends and made the curse pass only through a bite as according to Fantasic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander, so unless Remus bites his children on a night of a full moon (and let it be said that werewolves are more likely to go after family and friends than they are strangers so he'd probably just eat them anyways) there aren't going to be any werewolf kids for Dora or Remus.

Also, do you think perhaps the ministry might, along with law against werewolves getting certain jobs and holding so much in there possession? I believe I read a fanfiction that gave such a nice list for laws against werewolves that included not being able to marry, have children, own property or items including clothes, books, etc. that totaled more than 200 galleons, among other various laws that brought to mind Nazi Germany.

I don't know about you, but it seems like if there were a chance of the curse being passed onto children, the ministry would forbidden werewolves from having children, so we have another point against the multi-colored werewolf babies.

As for the Metamorphagery...it is an extremely rare ability that makes Dora so very unique what with her eyes and hair changing with her moods. We can count that out as well.

Finally, the first werewolf initiated a change in their physical form by using potions and other such things given to them by the Devil. Of course, this is according to some books that I have read about werewolves. Jo changed that most likely. Perhaps it would be best if someone asked her.

Also, as a piece of random information, in most cases a werewolf can pass on the curse through various means, including semen, saliva (as Jo has it), and blood (sort of like HIV, really, though saliva doesn't work in that case) so in most werewolf literature. (A quote I remember is, "There's no such thing as safe sex with a werewolf.") If indeed these two are all in lovey love with each other and happily ever after, Dora could end up as a werewolf maybe...but I doubt it because...this is children's book (do not fear the sarcasm).
