Day One:
Kari stretched, sitting up in her bed as she did so. She took a minute before getting up to look around her new home, still trying to get a feel for her new life. The room was so small, only big enough for a bed and a dresser, with one window looking out into the wooded area behind her house. There was a small pile of old clothes in a basket by the dresser, obviously awaiting the wash, and a small jewelry box atop it. It was an old rustic wooden box with delicate roses carved into its top, a small piece of Kari's past and it holding deep rooted memories for her. She then got up and after bathing and getting dressed she walked out into the second room, a mix between a medium sized living room and a small kitchen, there only being three rooms in the house all together. One bedroom, a bathroom, and this larger room filled with two full bookcases, a beat up old couch, an antique desk, and all things involved in a functioning kitchen. Kari just sighed, wishing she'd had money for a bigger place but knowing that her parents insurance wouldnt cover anything more than what she had. Her just sitting on the couch and grabbing a book from the end table, flipping half way through it and reading for an hour or so as she was halted by the growling of her stomach, Probably should eat something now.. she thought to herself, sitting the book back where she'd gotten it and walking to the other end of the room to start breakfast

Kari sighed, tending to a pan atop the stove as she looked into a book on the counter, a cook book. She smiled happily as she took the spatula and finished the hash browns, putting them onto a plate before walking back over to the couch to eat. She didn't take too long to finish them before walking back to the small kitchen area and washing her plate, then sitting it out in a rack to dry. Kari then stretched her arms out over her head, yawning slightly and stretching her back and neck before walking over to the door and taking her coat. She then put it on and opened the door, walking out and locking the door behind her. Kari smiled to herself as she took in all the beauty of the wooded area around her small, quaint home. After a moment she walked over to the dock, kneeling down and washing her face in the small pond behind her house, then walked over to the flower garden as she took some pruners from her pocket and started tending to her roses, wondering if she should go into town and meet her new neighbors or just stay here in the peace of her own homestead and just take in the wonder of the forest.

Marie strolled along the path, hands behind her head. She sighed. "Where the hell is anything here?!" she groaned and her black cat, Lucy, mewed. "Well, there aren't any supermarkets, or anything..." Marie trailed off, thinking of all the different things she left behind in the big city as Lucy dashed behind a bush and came out, proudly holding a mouse in her mouth. "Oh, ew! God, Lucy!...At least you can find food..." Marie looked around and fixed the hem of her dress then spied a house. "I guess we can go see if anyone's home there, huh?" She questioned to the cat, who was too busy gnawing on the small bloody corpse. Marie rolled her eyes at Lucy and walked up to the door, hesitantly knocking on it.

Kari blinked, getting up from her flower bed and brushing off her knees as she put her pruning sheers on her work belt, "Over here." she said, waving over at the women at her door before walking over and holding out her hand to shake hands, "It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Kari." she smiled widely and warmly, tilting her head slightly and involuntarily closing her eyes.

Marie smiled and walked over. "Sorry, didn't see you there!" She looked at her hand, a bit deterred by the dirt, but shook it. Then she quickly reached into the bag slung around her shoulder and took out some sanitizing liquid and used it. "I'm Marie. And I'm new here, obviously...What is there to do here? And more importantly, how do I get food?" she laughed hesitantly and played with her dress hem.

She blinked, taken aback as she saw Marie washing her hands, sweat-dropping and laughing slightly, "Well you actually left the main town a while back, but as for food if you want i can fix you something to hold you over until you get back to the town or your house." she said warmly, not sure where to get food in town as she was rather new to Silver Lune Valley herself.

Marie laughed shyly "Oh, no, I don't want to trouble you!" Lucy pranced over to Marie's side, still licking her lips from the kill. "Oh, this is Lucy, my cat. She's already eaten if you can tell" Marie grinned and picked up Lucy. Marie looked at Kari seriously "You mean, that tiny square was the /town/?! That was hardly even a court!" Marie groaned, wondering how much of a mess her parents got her into. She then sighed "well, I guess I'll just have to get used to it."

She laughed slightly, "It's no trouble really," she smiled warmly and walked to the door, unlocking it and walking into the house, holding open the door for Marie to enter as well, "It's a rather small town and it does take some getting used to... Where exactly do you live anyways?" she tilted her head, blinking and looking at Marie curiously before softly petting Lucy.

Lucy purred. "Down by the town square... They said I'd feel most at home there." she scoffed at the thought of some meager town being anything like her beautiful and hectic city. "You have a nice house." Marie grinned, "Mine's still full of boxes, I've been too lazy to clean everything out. Not to mention half the boxes are too heavy to lift!" she laughed and showed Kari her scrawny arms. "Curse my lack of muscles!"

Kari smiled, laughing slightly and closing the door as Marie walked in, "Well if you'd like i can always help you with some unpacking." she offered happily, walking over to the kitchen and looking in the fridge, taking out a small tv diner from the freezer and looking at Marie as she held it up for her to see as well, "This okay with you? It's fast and about all i have at the moment."

Marie smiled "that's perfect! Really, thank you for being so kind to me! I really appreciate it." she wandered to the kitchen slowly, soaking in her surroundings. "So, anyone else I should meet around here or am I set just with knowing you?" she grinned, hoping this woman would be her friend.

"Well theres a few more people living around here, and its always nice to make new friends." she smiled, already thinking of Marie as a friend, "But if you need anything just ask." she smiled warmly at Marie and put the dinner in the microwave, setting the time and waiting for it to get done for her.

"Likewise, although I doubt I can be much help." she laughed weakly. She knew she wasn't very handy with many chores and certainly was new to all of this farming and living off the land business. "What do you guys do for fun around here, exactly? Any get togethers so I can meet people?" she smiled and laughed. "Any cute guys or girls around?" she winked playfully.
