I started reading the comic and so far it doesn't seem anywhere near as graphic as the movie (but we'll see what's to come)... I'm really enjoying it. It's amazing how exactly the movie producers tried to duplicate the settings, and I'm also loving the mixed medium - the "novel excerpts" are just as interesting as the illustrated parts.
Also, wtf Rorschach jumps out of Moloch's fridge! XD

Waltz for Luma Also, wtf Rorschach jumps out of Moloch's fridge! XD I liked that part with Moloch, especially what happens later when Moloch looks in the fridge with a gun and sees a note that says "Look Behind You" and then Rorschach is RIGHT BEHIND HIM.

I've not read the graphic novel, but seeing the movie yesterday with my best friend it was a good movie.
I was actually expecting more blue p***s in the movie, but all it was was a blue male nudist. And it only had 5 or 6 shots with the danglely bits so it wasn't untasteful at all.
Rorschach was just awesome every seen with him in it was great. The kidnapped little girl scene, the prison scene, everything. I loved the prison scene the best. 3nodding
Only thing I didn't like was Ozy's Purple Lion thing didn't have much screen time. sad

According to the estimates it dropped 67.3% leaving it with $18,070,000.
That's the 89th biggest drop of all time. To give an idea of what company it keeps with that, the drop is a little bigger than X-Men 3, X-Files 2, Matrix 3, The Simpsons Movie, Golden Compass and Fantastic Four 2. But the drop is less than The Village, Saw 4, Saw 5, Alien Vs. Predator, Punisher: War Zone, Barb Wire, Cloverfield, Elektra, Hulk, Hellboy 2, Eragon and Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. So it avoided complete embarrassment by leaving at least 5 comic book movies that dropped worse.
It's still rare though for a movie that opened this big to drop that much. The only other ones in the top 250 biggest 2nd weekend drops that opened above $50 million are Hulk, The Village, X-Men 3, The Simpsons Movie, Fantastic Four 2, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Sex and the City, Harry Potter 3, 8 Mile, Twilight, Pirates 3 and Spider-Man 3.

Yeah it's sad. When I seen it yesterday beside my friend and myself and 6 other people the entire theater was empty. Great seats for us but sad for the movie of being a great hit. crying

I think it just shocked a lot of people who were expecting the next Batman or Spiderman flick. I mean, it wasn't really an "action" movie. About a third of the theatre walked out when I saw it the night it came out.

About a third of the theatre walked out when I saw it the night it came out. That was way better than Spiderman. Batman was good for what it was.... (epix as it were) ...but I would seriously probably choose Watchmen over Batman. omfg I know, right? no wai.

I'd choose Watchman over Batman as well. Batman only got it because of Heath's last role partly anyways in my opinion.
Watchman is just awesome. pirate

I saw it last night at 9:45 and the theatre was practically empty, but I just chalked it up to the fact that it was 9:45 on a Monday night. *shrug* I know a lot of people who went to see it opening night/weekend, and I haven't heard anyone say they didn't like it - the only negative things I heard was that there was a naked blue guy EVERYWHERE.
I didn't honestly notice his nudity that much - I watched his face more than anything, 'cause his eyes looked ridiculously cool. I couldn't take Silk Spectre II seriously...I just kept thinking "you were mildly annoying in 27 Dresses."
Rorschach was wonderful. I just wanted to hug him.
I haven't read the graphic novel, and really hadn't even ever heard of Watchmen until Reddy did a Rorschach cosplay a while back. I'd like to read the graphic novel, though, after seeing the movie.
