Lightly placing a cup of hot tea in front of the guest she replied with a tiny smile. "No don't worry about it, you didn't." She knelt down herself before continuing on about the Goddess. "Hmm.. I can see her and other spirits too. It's a heredity, being in a family of priests and all... And yes, there are others like her, called the Ancients. There are ten of then, all of them being her children. They, along with Kalista, created Silver Lune over a period of time. Where they come from is still unknown, but Kalista still comes from time to time to visit us; it's quite often, really. As the deity here it's her job to cleanse the valley of its impurities and help the villagers prosper and stay happy. The sprites of the forest help her out, as well." Mei paused a moment, realizing that she usually never talked so much. Her expression went blank for a second, waiting for Natsumi to ask other questions.

Natsumi thought in amazement, Kalista watched over the valley. The ancients are her children. And there are sprites that live in the forest... "Wait," Natsumi spoke with a low tone, "If everything here is so protected, is there anything, that is considered evil?"

"There's a witch called Hilda who lives in the valley, and she's supposedly evil and wants to ruin Silver Lune. Thankfully, she hasn't been a serious harm to us, so she doesn't seem to pose too much of a threat to the village." Mei gently sipped her cup of tea. "And if she was, we don't have to worry because we have Goddess Kalista to protect us. Although, another threat that could hinder Silver Lune..." Mei's face seemed to mellow out and she sighed. "... would be if nobody believed in Kalista anymore. Then she wouldn't protect the village anymore because she won't feel needed, then, of course, we'd be exposed to danger..."

Natsumi slapped her hand on the ground making her tea shake, "I believe in Kalista! She has to stay if even only two people believe in her!" She placed her hand back in her lap, then took a small sip of tea, it was still hot.

Mei gently smiled, happy to hear that one other person believed in Goddess Kalista. "I'm sure she'd be grateful to hear that." Mei placed the cup to her mouth and washed down another sip of tea. Mei paused and closed her eyes. She seemed to tense up, and after a few minutes she let out a deep sigh. "Ahha, sorry. Trying to sense if Kalista was in her shrine. She's not here at the moment though. I'm sure she would've liked your visit."

Natsumi starred in confusion, "Does she live here?" She asked in wonder, did she live right here, did Mei get to talk to her? See her? Would she be able to see Kalista, maybe even talk to her?

"She usually stays here, but sometimes she likes to explore town to check up on villagers. If they reach her standards of good citizenship and whatnot, she'll grant you her special Lunar Blessings." Mei shuffled her legs a little. "Occasionally though, she doesn't come back. I'm not really sure where she goes..."

"So, then if you find her in the Valley, you could talk to her?" Natsumi was excited, she could meet a goddess, not very many people in the world could do that. But what would she say, how would she react.

Mei looked amusingly at Natsumi. She was so full of energy. "Not exactly. You don't find her; she finds you. And you won't get a full conversation out of her, just an exchange of words mostly." As Mei turned her head to look out the window she noticed a small yellow bird perched on the window sill with a small note attached to its leg. "Excuse me for a moment." Getting off the floor of the tea room, she approached the window, opening the window for the little bird to come in, along with a slight breeze.

Natsumi felt a little disappointed, but if she did live up to the expectations, she could speak to the goddess even a few words. She took a sip of her tea, it had cooled down. She felt the breeze, it felt nice. Looking at the little birdie, she wondered why it had paper on it's leg.

"Hey, Hibiki..." Mei said, a happy tone heard in her voice. Hibiki flew onto Mei's open arm without hesitation. "Natsumi, this is Hibiki." Hibiki fluttered its arms and chirped. Mei unfolded the paper wrapped onto its leg. Leaning out the window, she stretched her arm out into an empty bird cage that hung on a sturdy plum tree, where Hibiki hopped off onto the bar and chirped again. "Rest up, okay?" Mei cooed at bird as she closed the window. She went back into sitting position in front of Natsumi as she slid the piece of paper into her pocket. "Sorry about that. Hibiki helps me and my friends in the city exchange letters, you see." Mei touched her cup, realizing that the tea had gone lukewarm.

Natsumi smiled, "What a clever bird, I have two kittens, the smartest thing they could do is use the bathroom outside." She sipped her tea again -- er more of slurpped it. She stood up and walked to the window, looking outside at the bird, "Hello little Hibiki."

Hibiki chirped again when it saw Natsumi at the window, greeting it. It fluttered its wings for a few seconds before settling on the bar to take a nap. The trip from the city to Silver Lune is quite the distance. Mei smiled as Natsumi went to say hi to Hibiki and went back to the stove to refill her cup with fresh tea. "Would you like another cup, Natsumi?"

"Yes, please Mei." She sat back in her place, "So whats it like working at a shrine?" She asked in wonder, she had only really been to them on New Years, so she wasn't sure what it was like.

((lmao i totally lost track of it because the episodes feel like fillers. i'm reading the manga atm, though, since it actually follows the true story line. My anime addiction is KHR, now. ))

Mei picked up Natsumi's cup off the table at poured more tea into it. "It's quite fun, but that's probably a bias opinion, since it's my obligation. Here you go." She placed the cup in front of Natsumi and went back to the stove to fill the kettle with more water. "It's fun helping people out, and I enjoy the thought of people coming to shrines to make wishes. Another event at shrines that fill me with joy are the weddings." Mei smiled as she sat back down in front of the guest. "They feel... I don't know. Magical, I guess." Mei couldn't help but feel silly and chuckle.
