Although Bauhaus is considered the legend, I've never really gotten to like them much except for the wonderful Bella Lugosi's Dead. The other songs I've heard were just too different from it, seems to me. And that kind of discouraged me from exploring more by them. From gothic rock I am convinced there are many better bands than Bauhaus [heretic, ha! razz ]. I love Fields of the Nephilim [this bands represents gothic rock and its specific fascinating sound and rhytm to me], Siouxsie & the Banshees [they're special to me, they were the first goth band I ever heard], Cinema Strange, some stuff by Sisters of Mercy. And from other genres/subgenres: Abney Park, Lacrimosa, Switchblade Symphony, Dead Can Dance, Enrique Bunbury, Héroes del Silencio, Autumn Tears, Dark Moor, Stratovarius, Ataraxia, Tierra Santa, Unheilig ... ...

Come with me and bless the night Let the darkness be your salvation Curse the day - escape the light Break the chains of imagination I love pretty much any kind of music my favourites include: Meatloaf, My chem, Muse, Msi, sex pistols, abba, queen, king blues lately I'm really getting into punk music
Come with me and seize the night Nows the time for some inspiration Leave the day and loose the light No taboos only new sensations...

Luz Melian Although Bauhaus is considered the legend, I've never really gotten to like them much except for the wonderful Bella Lugosi's Dead. The other songs I've heard were just too different from it, seems to me. And that kind of discouraged me from exploring more by them. The final line is a real mistake. Bauhaus are a really varied band, the the breadth of their work is key to their lasting-power in the scene. Pretty much EVERY sound and style to have come out of the goth scene was done by Bauhaus first. With that variety in mind, I don't think it's fair to make a statement about whether or not you like Bauhaus unless you've intently listened to all four of their original albums. Luz Melian From gothic rock I am convinced there are many better bands than Bauhaus [heretic, ha! razz ]. Not to be confrontational, but if you openly admit you haven't explored them much, how can you accurately state there are better bands?

I generally prefer dark cabaret, but I also enjoy classic rock, indie rock/pop, some alt rock/pop, classical(used here as a very broad term), and...whatever David Bowie would be considered.

Mostly Japanese, but really practically anything foreign. Although I am born and raised into an English speaking country, i dont like the way the language sounds... A few exceptions like Marilyn Manson or Madonna but:
Neo-Classical, Metal, Techno, Rock, Pop, Visual Kei, ect... Practically everything except most Screamo, Rap and Country...
GPKISM is my fave NeoClassical, SiSeN my fave techno, BLOOD my fave Rock, and Dir en Grey my fave Metal (although sometimes I get headaches from Kyo's screaming in most songs...)
I LOVE German and Japanese the most: Japanese sounds very elegant and flows whether its screamo or classic, and German just sounds so cool and scary, (Oomph! is my fave German band)

i like punk, a lot. sex pistols, crass, flux of pink indians, black flag, dead kennedys.
i like goth rock, and post punk, and anything along those lines. bauhaus (yes i've heard of them), siouxsie and the banshees, echo and the bunnymen, the cure.
i like new wave and any like classic alternative, you could say. the smiths, joy division, oingo boingo.
i really like rockabilly revival and psychobilly.
i like industrial.
david bowie, in his glam rock days.
punk cabaret. dresden dolls ftw.
and a bunch of other stuff that isn't really related to goth.
lots more that i forget cause of ADD.
i'm not picky. i have eclectic tastes.

I enjoy classic music and filk the most, and some nice Irish folk will make me happy anyday. Most of this "modern" music gives me headache, though. I simply can't listen to rock, pop, rap, metal or anything like that, or I'll have to live with painkillers the rest of the day...
