"Wow, people sure seem to be coming here quickly." Natsumi called as she entered the seed shop. "I guess spring is just starting and everybody wants vegtables."

Tyson peeked behind Mei and noticed Natsumi. "Looks like this place is crowded. Hello Natsumi."

Mei returned the smile and replied.
"Hey Tyson. I'm doing okay. How's your farm?"
Suddenly she heard the door open and turned to find Natsumi coming in.
She stared blankly at her and waved in acknowledgement.

Tyson smiled. "I have a few patches finished. Just enough to have a some vegetables growing. It's a start at least."

"Hi Mei, Tyson I didn't know you ran a farm." Natsumi said she started to look at spring seeds, she only had 50g so she had to make it last until she got more money.

Tyson chuckled. "It's not a big deal. However it is a lot of work. The sooner I get the farm going the better it will be later for me. A farm is not a farm until there is an animal or plant growing."

"Thats true, I'm just getting some seeds for a little garden, I've only got 50g so I'd better make it last." She was probably really poor compared to the other villagers. "Are you the same Mei? Just wanting a little garden?"

It's not like she had any other options though.
She had no intention of crossing over town towards the city just to buy food.
Not only that but she wasn't the type to ask people for things, and she was no where close to asking Ren and Ran or her parents to ship her necessities.
Growing her own food was an obligation to herself.

The two boys had finished sorting the unsorted seeds into their little plastic covers, and Mrs Summerfield was holding even more seeds.
"'Scuse me! Coming through!" Timothy and Marcus gently pushed past the waiting customers and put the seed packets into their table-cartons that they belonged in.
"Everyone takes the seeds they want from the boxes, and then you go to Daddy." Timothy announced.
"Over here!" Dad waved. He turned to the first customer, "And yes, you can have anything you want in this store, as long as you have the money."

Tyson looked at the packages and then turned to Mrs. Summerfield. "Excuse me. I have a couple of questions. I'm new to planting. Could you help me and give me a few tips."

Mei walked over to the seed boxes, finger to her cheek.
She didn't want to get too many seeds, but she didn't want to survive on only cabbage for an entire season either.
"Hmm... may I have a pack of strawberry, potato, and turnip seeds?"
She asked, looking at the two little boys.
She pushed her hand into her pocket, rummaging for her money.

"First of all things, you need to have these things; watering can, a hoe and some land. You need to dig up the land so that the moist soil comes into view, then you put in the seeds." Mrs Summerfield replied, "It's best if you put in your seeds at even spaces so that the plants have some equal room. And when you're planting the seeds, plant them DEEP underground so that they have room for their roots.
She combed back her hair with her fingers, "Anything else you need to know?"

Timothy and Marcus fetched the seeds that the customer wanted.
"10 plus 10 plus 10..." Marcus mumbled. He knew that he could add 2 numbers together, but three?
"30G...?" Timothy wasn't so sure either. He gave the customer her seed packets.
Usually, their parents were the ones doing the maths calculations.

Tyson nodded. He had another couple of questions. "What are the selling prices and who do I go to for selling them?" He asked.

Mei smiled and thanked them.
"Thanks guys, you two are really helpful."
She took the packs of seeds in one hand and 30G in the other.
She walked over to the counter where Mr. Summerfield was, but at the same time footed her direction towards the door.
"I just need to place the money in your account right?" Mei asked, ready to hand him the money if he said no.
