Vanness: (Speaking in Japanese) Hello, everybody who's watching Chichin Puipui and Sumi-san (the program's host). I'm Vanness.

Vanness: (Speaking in English) My name is Vanness Wu and I'm here to promote in Japan for our new drama. Hope you guys'll enjoy it.

Vanness: (in English) Thank you very much for this gift. This is really cute. I do really actually like it. The character's amazing. Also, I heard that Kansai is the hottest area in...Osaka? And probably because right now you guys are the one who's promoting us the most and I really appreciate it. And I really really thank you from the bottom of my heart and hope to see you guys soon. Thank you.

Note: Actually, Osaka is a city in Kansai region, not that Kansai is in Osaka as Vanness mentioned.

(Sunday Special: Vanness & Aisa's Music and Talk)

The venue is PARCO (probably a department store) Sapporo branch. The weather was quite hot.

The program started with MC (master of the ceremony) talked about the drama "Meteor Rain" (the special episode with Vanness & Aisa). Then Vanness and Aisa appeared.

Vanness: (Speaking in Japanese) Hello. I'm so glad to be here today.
Aisa: Hello, I'm Aisa.

MC: Please introduce yourself.
Vanness: (in Japanese) I'm Vanness.
Aisa: I'm Aisa. Nice to meet you.

MC: Vanness, you had a long hair in the drama, but now your hair is short.
Vanness: I don't know. Do you guys like long hair or short hair?
MC: (to fans) Who likes long hair better? Then, who likes his current hair style better?
(Seemed like there were more fans who liked his current hairstyle).
Vanness: I should like short hair. Long hair looks too much like a girl

MC: Who think Aisa is cute?
(Fans screaming so loud)
Aisa: Thank you.

MC: Is this the first time you come to Hokkaido? Have you tried any food here?
Vanness: Yes. This is my first time in Hokkaido. It's very beautiful. (I ate) Crab, shrimp...EBI (shrimp), UNI (sea urchin), SASHIMI (Japanese raw fish), BIRU (beer). (Later part he spoke in Japanese).

Then they turned on the song "Can't Lose You". (F4's song) After that Aisa was talking about the drama Meteor Rain.

MC: What was the first Chinese word that you remembered?
Vanness: I don't know. Maybe..."I'm hungry".

Then they turned on the song "Who do you love if not me". (Ai Bu Ai Wo Ai Sei - Vanness's song)

While Vanness was introducing the tune, there were fans screaming "We love you" and Vanness shouted "I love you back".

MC: Is there anyone coming from other places than Hokkaido? (Sapporo is the capital city of Hokkaido).
Fans: Yes!!
Vanness: Where are you from?
Fans: (Shouting their cities' names)
Vanness: (speaking in Japanese) Thank you so much (for coming).
MC: Is there anyone from Taiwan.
(Vanness raised his hand ^ ^" )
(There actually were fans who came from Taiwan, so Vanness said hello to them).

MC: Speaking of music influence on you...
Vanness: When I was young....Michael Jackson. Now there are a lot of music genre that I listen to. For Japanese artists, there are X-Japan, Luna Sea, Love Psychedelico.

MC: Your first album (Japan edition) will be released in Japan soon.

MC: I like the 7th song, SICK. I heard that you helped with the lyric too.
Vanness: If you practice rapping a lot, you could also do that. (I'm not sure about my translation of this part - JewelChan)

(Then Vanness introduced the new tune that would be broadcasted)
Vanness: Next is the 6th song in my album. It's called Lonely Mall (Ji Mo Guang Shang). This song expressed my feeling when I started living alone in Taiwan for the first time. Let's listen.

During the song, Vanness took a break and had some water. He offered his water bottle to fans but didn't give it out.

The weather became hotter so MC asked fans if they were okay and they said they were alright.

Vanness: Is it hot?
Fans: It's HOT!
(So Vanness offered his water bottle to the fans again, so fans were screaming loudly).

MC: You grew up in California, there aren't any snow, right? How do you feel about a city that has snow like Hokkaido?
Vanness: Actually, even though there aren't much snow in California, but I went skiing a few times already. I was so bad at skiing that I would fell off in no time.

Next was the Q&A session (Some questions were answered by Vanness and some by Aisa)

Q1. What's the meaning of you name?
Vanness: There's no meaning. I wanted to change it while I was young because it sounded like a girl's name, Vanessa. But now I really like my name.

Q2. What are your favorite Japanese comics and anime?
Aisa: Doraemon. I was learning Chinese in Taiwan and I watched Doraemon everyday that I became a big fan.
MC: I heard that Vanness is also a big fan of Japanese anime.
Fans: (screaming) Gundam!
Vanness: Gundam is big. Big like Gundam (^ ^). Other than that, I also like Evangelion, Macross, Akira, Full Metal Alchemist.

Q3: Do you use perfume? What kind?
Vanness: I used only Versace's Dreamer when I was younger but now I didn't use anything. (Then he sniffed himself). (^ ^)

Q4: If you have to do self-analysis, what kind of person do you think you are?
Aisa: I'm not losing easily and I'm positive. My bad part is...hmm...I'm too shy...
Vanness: This is not true!

Q5: In Meteor Rain (Meizuo's special episode), after Aisa went back to Japan, how do you think their (Meizuo & Aisa's) relationship would be?
Vanness: For this, you have to ask the scriptwriter. (- -")

Q6: Please tell us about Taiwan's good point.
Aisa: Taiwanese people are very nice. They have warm hearts. "Xiaolongbao" is also delicious.
(Xiaolongbao is a Chinese bun that has soup contained in it).
Vanness: You can play games at Internet Cafe, like 8 hours in a row. (- -")

MC: It wouldn't be good to your skin for playing games like that. How do you take care of your skin?
Vanness: Exercise, drink lots of water, or go to my mom's spa. (^ ^)
Aisa: Drink lots of water.

MC: What is your favorite Chinese word?
Vanness: Wu (His Chinese last name). (He was just kidding, then he answered another word but I don't know what it was- JewelChan) It was the first Chinese character that I remembered (how to write) when I learned Chinese. When I could remember it, I was so happy. Now, I could even close my eyes and write it.

Next, a restaurant from PARCO served Curry Soup to Vanness and Aisa.

Vanness: (after trying one bite) Do you want me to eat this in front of everybody?
(Then he copied Aisa's words in Japanese)
Vanness: (Speaking in Japanese) I'll eat then. It's delicious.

MC: I heard that Vic (Zaizai) really like Curry. Don't forget to brag to him.
Vanness: If it was Zaizai, you wouldn't have any Curry left now. He would enjoyed eating till he forgot that he was on an interview. (laughing).

Then they played the song "Searching For Juliet" while Vanness was eating.

Vanness: Others (fans) haven't eaten yet, how could I eat this alone.
Then he put down the spoon.
Aisa: They all have already tried this soup.
Fans: No.
Aisa: Oh, why?
(some fans said that they were from Tokyo. This Curry was probably Hokkaido's cuisine)

So Vanness offered the soup bowl to fans so the fans were screaming again. But he took it back and ate a little more.

MC: How do you feel about today's event?
Vanness: I'm so happy. Thank you everybody for coming even though the weather was this hot. Thank you very much.

MC: How about your upcoming work?
Vanness: I was in L.A. for 3 months preparing for my second album. I hope it could be released next year. My schedule for October is not certain but my new movie "Dragon Squad" will be out in November.

Then the event reached the end with Vanness saying thank you to everybody.

The program started with F4's song "Season of Firework"

DJ: First of all, is this your first time in Sapporo?
Vanness: Yes, first time and I really enjoy it. Everybody is really nice and very polite. I feel very at ease over here.

DJ: It's such a rare chance that you're able to be here to meet fans in Japan. How do you feel about your popularity here in Japan?
Vanness: I feel very lucky and I feel really blessed. And I'm just happy that everybody here in Japan are showing us such a gracious welcome. I just really appreciate everything. Thank you.

DJ: Your album (F4's album) was once ranked in the Top Ten chart, which was really great. So, not only your drama is popular here in Japan, but also your music, how do you feel about this?
Vanness: Yeah, I heard it was released over here and it's the first time any non-speaking Japanese artist was to be able to be on the billboard. And like I said, it's unbelievable. It's like a dream comes true. At times when we first started we said that it would be great if one day we can go to Japan and meet the fans over there because the comic book was from Japan. And here we are today. It's just amazing. It's been a wonderful time...

DJ: You will also have your solo album (Vanness's "Body Will Sing" - Japan edition) released in Japan. Is it different working on solo album compared to F4's album?
Vanness: Well, because the good thing about us four is that whenever we come together, what we bring to the table is four different individuals. Our characters are so different but at the same time, so same. So, when I do my own music, it represents a part of F4 but, yet, also not. It's my own personal liking. And that's why I think the four of us when we come together, it just works out the way it does.

DJ: How did you feel at the time you made that album?
Vanness: I was very excited and very anxious to hurry up and do it. When it all came together, it was very exciting to release it and get up on stage and to perform the songs to see the fans' reaction.

DJ: I hope you will have a chance to perform like that in Japan, too.
Vanness: Most definitely.

DJ: We will continue talking about Vanness' album. Did you write any song in this album?
Vanness: Yes, I wrote the lyrics in the first album. Actually for Meteor Rain album, for the English song that I did, I wrote the lyrics for that. And the second solo album that I'm working on right now, about 90% of the lyrics, I wrote with many of friends.

DJ: So you already prepared your second album?
Vanness: Yes, the past 3 and a half month I've been in L.A. recording my second album and just practicing, singing and dancing. And hopefully sometime in the near future I can show everybody.

DJ: What kind of concept is it (for your album)?
Vanness: Right now, it's kind of like a music diary of my experiences, my friends' experiences, about my life.

DJ: So it will give a feeling of a very personal album?
Vanness: Yes, very personal.

There is the translation of F4 interview that was on the Japanese magazine "MINA"
issued on 8/20.
Let me translate real quick only for Zaizai answers.

Q: (There wasn't question for this question, but there was the comment about his first love)
Zaizai: My "first love" was a classmate of my freshman year of junior high.

Q: What kind of the girl is the ideal type for your girlfriend?
Zaizai: My ideal girlfriend is who can handle the housework,
and who takes good care of parents.
But the most important thig is someone who is kind and sweet.

Q:What present do you want to give your girlfriend, and what present do you want
your girlfriend to give you?
Zaizai: What present do I give my girlfriend? Um... It depens what she wants.
But I would give whatever she wants!
What present I want from my girlfriend is breakfast, lunch, and dinner
that she cooks!

Q: Are you good at cooking? What can you cook?
Zaizai: I can cook some easy stuff.
Especially, I'm good at OMURAISU and KATSUDON.
I even cook them for my friends sometime!
**I don't know what OMURAISU is in English, but it is the dish that fried rice is rapped with egg, and we put ketchap or other sause over it.
Also, KATSUDON is a that deep-fried pork is cooked with egg, and put them over white rice.

Q: When(how old) do you want to get married?
What kind of husband do you thid you are going to be?
Zaizai: If I get married, I will take really good care of my wife.
Also, I will help with houseworks, and make effort to be a house-husband smile

Q: What is the thing you don't what a girl to do?
Zaizai: Not telling me what she is worried about or what kind of trouble she has.
I want girl to be hoest with me all the time, because it is not good to take all the trouble by herself, and not talk to people what she is trouble about.

Q: What is your character is like with the short words?
Are you aggressive for love?
Zaizai: My character is not what I look like.
I often to be said I look like quiet and depressed, but in fact, I love to talk and laugh.
About love..... it depends on the situation, so I can't say anything about that.

Q: Do you want to say anything for Japanese fans?
Zaizai: I will do my best to show you more than what you've ever seen,
so please come to see me on stage!
