Gackt, Malice Mizer, Dir en Grey, Gazette, AnCafe, Miyavi, Nightmare, Sid, Kra, Plastic Tree, Kaggra, L'arc en Ciel, Janne da Arc, TM Revolution, D'espairs Ray....... thats all i can think of off the top of my head... i have a list of them on my profile.(i think that there are like two american bands on there though...)

MadTiger Kaidan Yeah, but who hasn't heard of them. Most Japanese people x: Most of my friends from Japan don't know visual kei stuff but they have all heard of Gackt and Miyavi. I have found that when those awkward silences appear or you need to break the ice you just mention Gackt or Miyavi. Anyways, Panic Channel(usually known as Panic CH*) is a good band to listen to.

PIERROT has always held a special place in my heart. What sort of j-rock are you looking for?
Because ALL j-rock is totally visual kei. rolleyes

Depends what you're into right now. Art-School and Plastic Tree are always good to start out with. I really recommend 9mm Parabellum Bullet if you're into a little faster stuff; they're intense but still have the alternative feeling.

My favorite bands are ; Asian kung-fu generation, Number girl,Bump of chicken, The pillows, and Base Ball Bear. Other bands that are really good are ; Orange range, , Ellegarden, Beat crusaders, Flow, High and mighty color, Eastern youth, Uverworld .
