It's true that lavender is not for everyone.
It causes headaches and migraines for many people
-myself included-
Many people cannot tolerate a strong lavender scent.
Oh, so glad it isn't just us. OUr city planted lavender along the street where we walk and now I have to carry feverfew everywhere I go in town. -_-

Oh...I bet that's horribly inconvenient.

Ours puts out potted plants, and changes them once they die. It's a horrible waste of money.

Come april or so, it's going to be tulips. Everywhere, as far as the eye can see- tulips. *shudder*

I like tulips, though they're hell for people who have allergies. *completely allergy free*

Eh...my teddy bear's head died. oO;

Oh, no... it isn't the flower I hate. It's the tourists that come with the bloom. *shudder*

Our tourist season is coming up. It's peak is the first weekend in December, when our little town of 20,000 perminant residents swells by having 70,000 visitors. All for a bunch of stupid electric christmas lights, and some fireworks.

I'm trying to be out of town again this year.

Chamomile can be effective crushed or burned. Mugwort will give pleasant dreams.. try mixing rosemary, a little lavender and chamomile, (that way it wont make them too drowsy) a pinch of peppermint and mugwort for pure comfort in a bear...

I made a big heart shaped betty boop pillow for my mom with herbs in it a few weeks back... if the intended recipient has pets of any furry kind, leave out the catnip, as my mom's Shi'tsu decided the pillow deserved to be ripped to tiny pieces, lol..

XD!!! So make a pet-pillow minus the catmint, huh? We put cedar in the dogs beds, it's the same idea, right? Does cedar aroma have any benefit (besides the anti-bug properties?)

Probably both. XD Chamomile is a soothing scent, and teddy bears are just... so nice. ^_^

This is probably a little random. But some how, while I'm in math class and have nothing to do but geometry problems, I get ideas.

Would it be possible to make home made teddy bears, like I'm learning to do, and stuff them with herbs?

Which kind of herbs?

I got the idea from dream pillows. I forget where I read about those though.

Hehe, maybe -- I think everyone has their own random moments at times, though.

I remember reading about dream pillows, too... I think it was in one of my mothers potion books. Can't remember for sure! sad

Yes, that's a great idea -- my family has been doing it for a while, and they are really very handy things to have around. biggrin

Stuffing them with lavender, along with buckwheat hulls works well. Lavender can be used for a relaxing effect, but be careful -- not everyone has the same reaction. You can use other herbs, too. Here are just a few of the ones I've used; thyme, rosemary, basil, marjoram, and many more.

Anyway -- great idea! Have fun!

my sister was in a car accident the year before last and was terribly stressed afterwards and losing a lot of sleep. So i sent her a pillow that has a pocket in the centre that was filled with lavender, i did want to get a different herbal blend that i saw , which contained hops and other sleep inducing herbs aswell as lavender, but the website was down mad so she only got the one frangrance, ahe said it smelled lovely though. 3nodding
