I say no "shoulds". People ought to act the way they are the happiest to act. I think anything else is denial. Fortunately I've been there and done that in a lot of ways. I have a pretty good idea in a lot of ways of what a healthy man and woman ought to be doing. I'm speaking in general terms. I cannot even imagine the creativity any person has the ability to manifest.
Feminine means creativity, masculine means action, not women and men. Happiness is about love. Loving who we are. Love is about doing the things what fulfill our needs. Like having integrity, self esteem, compassion, kindness, attitude, being clever, being nurturing, etc etc. Being a guy or girl is about doing those kinds of things in a responsible and relatively balanced way as to meet our inner needs and serve our well being. Its not about having set roles. Our roles matter depending on what we need to do for ourselves to take care of ourselves. Guys are strong physically, we make better hunters in a lot of way, but not always. and vise versa. Its not about proving something or acting correctly, its about our well being and happiness. Being nurturing and taking care of the home feels good, its to take on that role "relative" to whatever. Its about relating to ourselves as we stand. Gender is real. What works is different for each person, each gender. Still we are more similar than different. We want to honest with ourselves so we can be caring to ourselves. Trying to fit roles for the sake of acting like a guy/girl "correctly" is out of balance relative to our real self. Its self mutation. IMO. Society is pretty abusive to the "Self" IMO. Do a loving thing for your self, work to heal your inner relationship with yourself.

Zebulous Kino D As for girls liking feminine men, well, that's their choice, isn't there? I don't understand why any guy should have an opinon on that. Attraction isn't based on logic. And like already stated, those 'natural gender roles' are no longer necessary. NATURE created those for a PURPOSE. THAT PURPOSE DOES NO LONGER EXIST. Gone. Fossilized. It has ceased to be. Outplayed gender roles with no practical purpose are just that: Outplayed and without practical purpose. So out of what you said, this part pertains to the thread, and the rest is directed to Tony or could go in a thread about homosexuality. I think society's view on various sexual preferences and their ways of life is relevant to a thread about gender roles. Could be wrong though. Couldn't care less. And @Zeb: The vast majority of gay men don't act like women, or anymore 'feminine' than other men. They're completely at ease with their born gender. Only the ones with an actual preference for gender-bending acts like the opposite gender. Few gay men are dumb enough to act in a way that'd only cause society to look down upon them even more than before, especially if they have no actual preference for it.

As an opening statement I'd like to state that Humans are messed up to begin with Society makes us think what gender roles are. Women that are called sluts for sleeping around was started by women to be able to keep a man so they can survive easier you get the food and protction and I'll that care of things here it is a win-win stituton for most people. It would be totally different if women where stronger than men.
