I rid my bike, use LED, get my water from glacier run-off, and sometimes hunt my own food (deer, fish, we own a few chickens, but we don't have a cow crying )

For suggestions you could -turn off lights when you are not there -take 5 min showers -not leave water running -turn your heat down when you re not home/ asleep -use CFL bulbs -use 'green' power (instead or with your current energy provider) -walk -bike -carpool -public transit -buy localy grown foods
and there are many more

Warrior of Metal BloodyxMarie We do the typical things; take public transportation; recycle; compost; bike when it's nice ect. But it's inevitable that the world is going to change. Take the ice age for instance. That happened without any of the pollution we have today. We would be able to slow it down, with drastic measures, but not stop it. Finally someone else who understands that the Earth goes in cycles. heart yes the earth does go in cycles, however we are destroying our world in other ways, not just the heating patterns. We are not using resources at a sustainable rate, cutting down forests, polluting, and all that bad stuff. (I mightgive more examples later, I have to go now)

I'm by no means the most green person. But from my end, I unplug my laptop and speakers and all the computer things I have hooked up at night. I run short showers, but that's more out of time-crunch than any impact on the environment. I support green energy when it is a cost-effective solution as well... for instance, CFL bulbs draw less power and can pay for themselves over time. I'm waiting for my current lights to burn out before I go crazy switching them, but it's easy to head for a green alternative when you have a need to fill. My family used recycled paper insulation when we went to insulate a bedroom. Cheaper (not necessarily easier) but also environmentally friendlier.
No, we can't just hold the Earth in one stage of its cycles. I think we all get that. The problem is that we're going to be out of the resources we rely on before my generation's kids really need them. So whether or not you're concerned about the environment, you should be looking toward the future we're going to have to live in.
While I don't agree with everything that comes out of Nine Inch Nails, Reznor has some sharp lyrics: "Don't give a sh*t about the temperature in Guatemala. Don't really see what all the fuss is about. Ain't gonna worry about no future generations, and I'm sure somebody gonna figure it out."
If it really gets in your way to be green, then tell me. But I think flipping the lightswitch to *off* when you leave the room doesn't stress you out much. And plus, in the long run, it's practical.

I have to say I have never heard of paper insulation before. Where did you get it from?

Once humans die out, there would be as much fossil fuels as there was when we first found it. Same with trees. There might not be the same breed, but there will be trees once humans are finally extinct. The earth will go back to what it once was, when humans die out.

I don't mean to sound like a pisser, but I have to comment on this. ReRe_is_sweet For suggestions you could -turn off lights when you are not there( I'm extremely paranoid of people breaking in, so I always leave a light and the TV on to make it look like people are home.) -take 5 min showers(Lol, I'm lucky if I can pare it down to 30.) -not leave water running(For the most part I don't, but my cats sometimes only drink running water.) -turn your heat down when you re not home/ asleep(I can't turn it down when I'm asleep because it's physically painful.) -use CFL bulbs(I believe I do.) -use 'green' power (instead or with your current energy provider)(I don't think I have that option.) -walk(Physically unable.) -bike(Physically unable.) -carpool(I don't know anyone lol, but I don't drive, either.) -public transit(I'm terrified of buses.) -buy localy grown foods(There aren't any where I live.)
and there are many more

Does burying our bodies in caskets and putting enblaming products into bodies effect this?
