Tyran:

He was slightly confused to find that she was just trying to trick him into saying something that she could possibly use against him later on, but he couldnt help but smirk at her intelligence...he would have to be careful as he knew he was not the greatest of minds. He followed her noticing her keen leadership, all the elves seemed to treat her words as law watching as she graced by them. He was surprised to see yet more warriors smaller then he even this close to teh castle...he would have thought the more skilled and veteran troops would show up eventually.
That is when he saw the small girl bother the princess with such trivial problems.....perhaps she was family? regardless Tyran couldnt help but see the contrast between his own family and culture. To have a child so young away from training seemed strange to him, perhaps that is why all the soldiers he sees are so small and ill trained.
"Tell me Sacred Vessel....how much does your king know of me and my tribes?"

Natasha giggled as she looked away from Tyran. "He calls you a funny name Princess," she said as she rested her head on Selene's shoulder.

"Yes, I know little one," Selene said as she kissed the top of Natasha's head softly. Her gaze turned to look over at Tyran, her hand gently rubbing the little girl's back.

"I am not sure how much my father knows about you and you tribes. I have not asked him, and he did not tell me." She shook her head slightly. "I was just recently told of this--our--arranged marriage."

Selene continued to walk down the hall. "I suppose I did not ask him any questions because I was angry with him for doing this without asking me how I felt. Now I see and understand why he arranged this marriage. It is for the good of our people, and I will do what I must for their well being."

She stopped in front of a large door and turned around fully to look up at Tyran. "This is it."

Tyran:

He heard the small girls comment and felt the need to explain.
"little one.....in my lands women are sacred since they give new life...in my lands even you would be considered very valuable and respected."
He said his foot steps thunking on the ground as he followed her.
soon they were approaching a large set of doors leading into the castle, the design unlike anything he had ever seen...and he had besieged many castles in his life time.
While he listened to her however he realized something that changed the entire situation......she had no knowledge of this marriage...at least not as much as he would have liked.
"wait do you mean you have only recently found out about this agreement?....well do not worry......if you do not know of my accomplishments that i will prove myself to you in another way" he said before stopping in front of the two large doors.

Selene watched Tyran for a moment before giving a small smile. "Yes, I am sure you will find other ways to prove yourself to me." She glanced at the door that they stood before.

"When you are done speaking to my father---why don't you come and find me? You can tell me more about yourself and your culture, and I can tell you more about our culture here." Selene turned her gaze back to the man. "I will be out in the gardens. That's where I always am."

She stepped away from the door slowly. "That is---if you do wish to speak with me."

Tyran:

He nodded and took her hand in his for a moment, a small gesture of respect and promise to meet again.
"i would have preffered you bare witness to my discussions.....as you are indeed a large part of them.....but if you wish to leave so be it" he said walking in following the large coridor deep within the castle untill he witnessed the man he had traveled so far to converse with.
He did not drop to one knee as he had done with the princess....she was to be respected, but this man..this king was no more then another ruler to be conquered and that meant he would gain no more respect then any other man Tyran had met before.
"I am Tyran Five- Kings.....commander and warlord of the 7 tribes and there armies.....conquerer of all the ash lands and the people who live there......i have made my introduction...i bid you introduce yourself..so that we may continue onto the matter i was sent here for....one of peace..a word my people do not take lightly." he said is his load masculine voice.

Selene was slightly surprised, although she did not show it, at how gently Tyran took her hand and spoke to her. Her delicate fingers brushed against the back of his hand lightly.

"I would stay, but I know my father and he would not like it too much when this is your first meeting with him. Besides--I have promised Natasha that I would help her with a task."

She watched as Tyran walked through the doors and down the halls. She turned back around slowly and began to walk away with the little girl still cradled in her arms. Selene had expected to feel nothing but anger when she had met this man, but she didn't feel anger. She oddly felt respect for him. It was not easy to travel from so far so fast and to kill that large of a wolf.

"There he is! There is Micah!" Natasha said as she spotted the boy in a corner. "Let's get my doll now please!"

Selene smiled as she looked to Natasha. "Okay--let's go."

"Welcome Tyran Five-Kings; I am Amras King of the crystal elves who dwell within the mountains." Amras sat up straight in his chair. "I welcome you to my home as do my people."

Tyran:

He watched and listened as the small man introduced himself and spoke on behalf of his people, clearly the throne is not taken by battle and contest as was in his lands....how else could a man so small take the kingdom....then again compared to the other elves he was no shorter. Tyran soon gave up in his thinking, it was simple that elves must just be a small born race.....perhaps that is why they try so hard for this peace.
"Great king..i have come a long way to speak peace with you...however i am impatient when it comes to words....i am a man of action and so are my people." he said shaking his long fur coat revealing his numerous weapons for only a moment, no threat intended.
"my father has already discusses terms with me.....and as always he makes only one offer only ounce....my nation and its armies....shall never war upon the lands you own now....should you gain lands in the future.....or lose lands however small or large.....we will not consider them in this agreement....not without further negotiations.
also....our nations armies are bonded by a single favor.....should my lands need your soldiers or your aid in a conflict.....although unlikly you are to respond to the best of your ability.....as our armies will do the same for you.
lastly.....we are to trade upon the agreement......a price we have already decided upon...You are to give your daughter to me in marriage...on the condition that i prove myself to her by completing a quest of her choosing......should i succeed i am to marry her....should i fail the rest of the agreement stays true, except that i shall leave and never return." he said giving the conditions exactly as he had memorized.

Amras listened intently to Tyran as he spoke. He nodded slowly at the other man's words. "I hear your terms and I agree to them." Pushing himself up from his seat he smoothed out the wrinkles in his clothes.

"Long have I desired to be at peace with you and your people and now that the opportunity has presented itself, I am taking it." Amras stepped away from his throne.

"Tonight a feast will be held so that we may all eat together. Now--you must be wanting to meet my daughter. I am afraid she is not very happy with me, so do not be surprised if she barely speaks to me."

Tyran:

He listened as the man agreed to his terms so quickly, it was clear that stories of the slave kings armies traveled further then he had expected. Tyran simply nodded at the mans admittance that he had wanted this peace for some time and his announcement at a feast.
"i do not think your daughter is as angry at you as you would think...i met her before and after speaking she says she now understands your decision......however there is still the matter of the rituals my people undertake......i must complete a task of her choosing....without your imput" Tyran said walking with the man.
"whatever the task may be, i expect it to be challenging even for a grand warrior like myself....i have earnt my status through years of grueling combat and war....there is no enemy i will not face for your daughter" he said smiling thinking of the mulittude of possibilities, who knows what great adventure he would have to undertake in order to please this women....he hoped that this story would be one he would be remembered for.

Amras nodded slowly as he walked down the hallways with Tyran. "That is a good thing to hear. I am glad that my daughter is now more open to this union." He clasped his hands together as he watched the others move out of their way.

He stepped outside and immediately went towards the gardens. Amras stopped when he saw his daughter sitting by one of the many small ponds. "I will---leave you to speak with Selene. I must go and see how my people are doing."

Amras turned and looked to Tyran. "I am almost positive what my daughter will ask of you, and you may find it---not what you thought it could or would be." He smiled slightly. "Until tonight then." He quickly walked away.

Tyran:

He was curious as to find out what it would be she would ask but figured that he could easily ask her now. He walked through the garden filled with foreign plants as well as many many small beautiful colored plants. he had heard someone call them flowers, however they looked nothing like the small burnt colored plants that were scattered on the ash-land plains.
He knelt down and picked one and examined it before walking up to Selene.
"Hello Sacred Vessel, i have spoken to your father and we agreed upon the terms....i trust you have been notified that i am to earn your hand in marriage by completing a mighty quest given by you?"
he asked excited as to find out what truly great feat she would have him undertake.

Selene turned her gaze slowly to Tyran and a half smile formed on her face. "Yes, I have been notified of that, and I have been thinking about it." She turned back to the pond and ran her fingertips over the top of the water. Ripples flowed across the surface creating different designs that soon faded away.

She sat there quietly for several moments, contemplating on what to say next to this strange man. Selene could tell how excited he was about a quest, that he wanted something big, something grand, but she didn't really have any big grand things for him to undertake.

"You know you don't have to stand? Why don't you just sit here next to me for a little while so we can talk and maybe get to know each other a little better?" Selene turned her eyes once more to him.

Tyran:

he was inpatient since she had not told him what the quest may be, instead she wished him to sit with her. he of course did as she had asked and sat down next to her, fiddling with the delicate little flower in his hands.
"your flowers are strange here" he said accidentally crushing it in his armored gauntlets. "in my land what we call flowers are small hard black colored plants.....yours are small and fragile....it seems like everything here is soft and helpless." he said looking around.
"everything is so very green and alive, it is far different to my own lands.....i have been to places like this before...but only during war so i have never had the time to look around like this" he said before turning back to Selene.
"tell me, what is the quest you will bid me to complete for your hand?"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 21, 2008 1:07 am

Selene listened to Tyran silently as he spoke. She smiled slightly. "Yes the flowers are delicate; they are supposed to be so that you handle them with care." Her hand rested lightly against the ground, messing with the grass. "And everything here isn't soft and helpless. My people may look small and fragile to your eyes, but we are remarkably strong and able to take care of ourselves."

She sat there quietly for a moment, turning her eyes to meet his. "To tell you the truth--I don't know what kind of quest to give you. Never before have I had to do this for someone."

Her head tilted to the side slightly as she abruptly changed the subject. "You have been all over these lands, yes?"

Tyran:

He paid attention to what she was saying, how she explained that her people could be strong despite there appearances...he made sure to note that. he also heard that she didnt know what sort of quest to give him, something that worried him greatly as a quest for marriage was one of the most important rituals of his people.
However her sudden change of subject told him that perhaps all she needed was time to think, which he gave her if only so as to not rush her decision.
"yes i have been to many places, conquered many kings. My name denotes my accomplishments, Tyran Five - Kings, as i have personally taken the crowns of five different kings who live upon lands that surround the ash lands."
He said standing back up and looking off into the sky.
"i have marched to the tops of the volcanic mountains and i have crossed mighty desserts, crossed the lakes and rivers and spilt blood on the valleys." he said listing his accomplishments.
"you see, i am the grand commander of all our armies, i am on the front lines of battle and lead all the assualts, i have raided many castles and destroyed many armies....i am the greatest Ash-lander warrior there ever was...and i have carved legends and stories throughout my whole life.....i am carried by grand stories.....i was hoping that the quest for my marriage would be equally as impressive." he said looking back at Selene.
