I like cosplaying Orihime from Bleach, we have the same length and colour hair. The food I eat consists of weird stuff, like she eats too. I'm a bit ditzy, as is she.
Also I like cosplaying Mello from Death Note, I love his clothes, and I have an insatiable love of chocolate.
I too cosplay the characters I love the most. Albeit some might not be that well known.
Might have to cosplay characters that wear glasses, then I won't look silly wearing them when the character doesn't.
oh well..

Hmm... I've tended to cosplay characters that have personalities opposite of mine... Kadaj, Darth Vader, (soon to be) Kisame and Kabuto.... I guess I have a thing for villians.

Height. (Haha XD) I'm very short, so I go for smaller characters. I'm also a detail whore, so I go for those that have waaaaay too many decorations to be considered practical. :3 I tend to do characters I can relate to, also. Most of them happen to be guys, though. XD Yaaaaay crossplay~!

The more detail the better, in my book! it makes things more interesting and the cosplay more fun to put together!

xinitia The more detail the better, in my book! it makes things more interesting and the cosplay more fun to put together! Yes that is also true, but I find that the characters with fewer details are harder (more fun) to get "just right", because of their simplistic beauty, where even the slightest error or inaccuracy shows greatly, because each detail is, technically, a larger percentage of the whole design. ....That makes sense, right?

i guess that's what i kinda meant, too. there is detail in simplicity, so if a costume is simple, that is a detail in itself. i guess i didn't make that very clear, did i? sweatdrop

Heh...my first cosplay was Road Kamelot from D. Gray Man. I threw it together the day of Tekkoshocon, and not only was it a closet cosplay but it was from other people's closets. Epic, but I did it terribly, because I can NOT be a petulant twelve-year-old, no matter how I try.
I needed a Earl. HEAR THAT? SOMEBODY MUST COSPLAY THE MILLENIUM EARL!!!!
I did manage to take L's lollipop, though. whee :

What do I have in common with the characters I cosplay? Well, usually, it's their excellent taste in clothing, mainly...

Lets see-
Sailor Chibi Moon-we're both short?
Konan-I like origami
Chii-just like some of her outfits
Itachi-Don't Know
I don't usually have much in common with the characters I cosplay. I just pick characters and outfits that I like really.

i tend to crossplay the more quote-unquote "EMO" characters.
some examples: Sasuke-Naruto Zexion-Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories(even though he's not really that big of a character in the original GameBoy version of the game) Gaara_Naruto(there was a point in time where i was pretty much just like him...not like crazy derranged racoon mode, but calm, but if you mess with me i WILL break your face.)
you get the drift? Good.
I guess it's more of who do i think i could pull of, and could i be in character enough that it's good. The thing is though, i tend to create my own character of the character. Like my Sasuke is very conceited and perverted(kinda like Sai, but a bit nicer), my Zexion is(don't kill me...please?) Emo. Like with the music, and the tight pants, band shirts, studded belts, the whole shebang.
did that make even the least bit of sense?

While I like to be physically similar to my characters, there isn't much I won't do to protect the authenticity of a cosplay(i.e. contacts, cutting and dyeing hair, losing/gaining weight, ect.).
Personality wise, I tend to choose characters who share my ideals. My favorite ones I've done are Tifa Lockhart(FFVII:AC), Jill Valentine(resident evil), and Sakura(naruto). Like me, they're all girls who kick major a** without sacrificing their feminity.
I'm going to try to change it up a bit by being a "helpless" character this year. I'll be Sakura from Tsubasa:Reservoir Chronicles.

I always tend to go for characters that are a bit eccentric or are at least slightly out of their mind xD; Like Inner Sakura, Tamaki (he has his moments, don't deny it), Youji, L, Beyond Birthday...
Either that, or characters that are always all " stare ", like Allelujah, Haruhi (Fujioka), or Zexion ^-^' Sarcastic and/or sadistic characters are always fun, too.
Now, what does that say about how I act? (Insane sadist, lolwuuut?) XDDD
