Yeah, I also thought they could've gotten someone better to play Edward, but He actually did a pretty good job in the movie. <3 Fit how I imagined him quite well and, though he could've done better during kissing scenes, matched Edward's persona. I enjoyed it. <3

New New Opinion - I think Rob will make a brilliant Edward, after re-re-watching the trailer a million times over, and watching the parts of Harry Potter 4 where he was on, I think he's up for the job. Now, I can't wait to see it!

I remember when I read Twilight for the first time - before I had access to good internet and found out about the movie - I remember picturing Edward as Robert Pattinson so I can't really say much about me disliking the choice, i think it wasn't too bad a pick actually. I kind of like the fact he was in Harry Potter too because I can say Ed and anyone who gets it can't be certain if I'm talking about Cedric or Edward, that's just my really corny, pathetic joke, lol

the reason why he was so quiet was because he didn't want to show his British ancient
but who would you have put as Edward? all the acttors who i would have picked where to old.

xXserenitys-smileXx covo Dark_Legend94 covo Well personally I thought Robert was a perfect choice, he actually looked very similar to the Edward that I pictured. So I'm very happy with the choice and after a saw the second trailer I was even happier. xD OMG! I always pictured him with an accent too! lol xd That's strange.... at first i did as well. It took me like two months to make me get rid of his accent. I think the reason he had an accent is because i find some accents sexy... and face it... Edward Cullen made sexy. He does...but whenever I pictured Edward in my head, for some reason he would end up with black hair instead of reddish-brown sweatdrop Regardless, I think Robert Patterson did a great job as Edward in the movie. I look forward to New Moon, even though he won't be in it as much as the first film.

Eh. Personally, Rob is too ugly for Edward. Always thought so, always will. My mum and I think that Jackson Rathbone(Jasper) should've been Edward. He's gorgeous!!!! And back when it was just the book, most people were either team Edward or team Jacob. But now that they made Jasper sooo super sexy, I've been seeing a lot of Team Jasper icons and such. When it comes to the character, I'm Team Edward. But when it comes to actors, Team Jasper all the way. Jackson Rathbone is a 'mega hottie'.

I thought Rob did a great job playing Edward. I'm really glade how he portayed the charater as more of a tourture soul type then the perfect guy. Because for some reason that kind of bugged me till the end of new moon where you find out why he's like that.

Rob is a decent Edward.
I don't think a lot of people will be satisfied because...well, let's be honest, everyone has their own version of Edward in their heads.
When I heard Rob was playing him, it didn't make sense to me at first.
But then after watching the trailer, I thought he was pretty darn good.
So, I like that he was cast as Edward.

I thought Robert was great. He had the pale skin, the hair, the lips.. Okay, the lips bothered me at one point, with their purple-ness. I don't think that anyone could have played it better. But when it comes to making a book into a movie, everyone has different versions of the characters in their mind. So...they couldn't make it perfect. I mean, when you really think about it, Edward did stare at her like that in the book. And trying to portray how drug-like her smell and everything was, that's kind of how you had to do it [especially for those who hadn't read the book]. Showing how irresistible drinking the venom out of her blood was... He did really good. I think he sang very well, also. xD
