MK Judging by your attire, You'd probably like to get some rest while I look into things, hmm? There is a bed in the small room behind the reception desk that you are free to use if you like. Nobody else but myself is on base at the moment, so you can make yourself at home while you're here. There is also a thermostat nearest the light switch. The receptionist always complained about it being cold in here, though I don't know why...

She frowned again, but nodded.
"I guess I'll try to sleep--how long do these stupid storms last? I can go home when it's over, right?" She glanced over his way, eager to get the pleasantries out of the way so that she could snuggle her feet into a nice warm bed.

MK Well, let's see... Day nine of the blue sun... I'd give it a day, maybe two. The storm is normally about three thousand miles from one end to the other.

She groaned again, then let out a frustrated sigh and started for the room. Maybe she could just sleep the next few days into oblivion.
It wasn't too hard finding the bedroom, and once inside, she hurried to the thermostat and turned it way up. It was like she was inside of a fridge or something. Even drafts would've been cold in this dump! With that out of the way, she threw herself onto the bed, climbing under the covers (there weren't enough blankets for her taste, she noted in dismay) and trying her best to warm up and drift off.
It took a lot of tossing and turning, but she did eventually sink into a deep sleep, cuddled up to one of the pillows and snoring lightly.

MK *The scientist made off down the right-hand corridor, disappearing for some length of time to go charge up an additional power core for the Warp Portal. Returning back to the reception area, he set the core down on the desk and crept quietly into the room. Making well note that the woman was asleep, he moved over to the ventilation shaft. Prying open the cover, he placed a small flask with an orange liquid inside. Lifting his mask up over his face, he popped the cap and replaced the shaft cover. He walked back out of the room with a devious grin, and quietly shut the door. Sure enough, she had activated the thermostat, and it kicked in quietly. An odorless vapor was wafted into the room, and soon, a new experiment would begin...*Sleep Tight...

The girl woke up with a jolt, drenched in sweat. She felt feverish; her head was pounding, and her body felt like it was being weighed down by fifty bags of sand. She tried hard to roll over, her first instinct screaming for her to get a drink, though being entangled in blankets so tightly wasn't helping her already-difficult cause. When the girl finally managed to get onto her side, she began fumbling with one arm, searching for her water. Her eyes were open, but it was like she could barely see. Everything was fuzzy and out of range--she kept missing the night table altogether, as though it had been moved a few feet away. After several more attempts to reach it, she felt too weak to continue trying.
With a frustrated groan, the girl noticed a clock on the wall. She squinted hard, trying to make out the time as she propped herself up on one wobbly elbow to get a better look. That couldn't be right...she stared for a while longer, wondering if the numbers were mixed up...daylight savings? No, even then, it wouldn't be THAT late...wait, that clock didn't look familiar at all!
Like a shock of cold water being dropped over her, she sat up suddenly. Her head pounded harder in response and she felt woozy. She was completely overheated. In a panic, she tried to pull the blankets off, though it was difficult with her slurring motor skills. The blonde managed to dislodge the blanket but not the top sheet, and was too exhausted to keep trying. Her body gave up on her and she slumped into the back of the bed, looking around the room with agonizing slowness, her heart thumping loud and rapidly.
She didn't know where she was. Where was she? This wasn't even home...she was sure of it. Where was her bird? Where was the window? Her duck plushie...
Ugh, she was totally parched, and she felt like she'd caught some terrible cold...it must be a nightmare she was caught in. Yet why wasn't she waking up?

*Having had time to repair, recharge, and even replace the portal power core, he waited outside the office and gave a knock on the door to with the back of his hand*
Are you awake in there yet? Seems like you've been sleeping for days...

She flinched, looking at the door. Her head was spinning. Who exactly was knocking on the door?
"H-hello?" She asked, too out of it to really think of a more sensible plan in this situation.

"Doctor...?" She found herself repeating quietly, what doctor?
The blonde swallowed hard. She was so thoroughly confused that all of the questions barely mattered anymore. He could get her something to drink, maybe help her...certainly sitting here like this wouldn't help, she felt terribly sick and wanted to be taken care of.
"C-come in?" The girl stammered.
She took notice of the covers and quickly reached for them, pulling them back up around herself and then watching the door with wide eyes.

*Turning the handle and entering slowly, MK appeared through the doorway and shut the door behind him. Wearing his full lab gear, he started cautiously over to the girl, anticipating the effects of the drug and some reactions she may have to it*
Yes, your doctor. Don't you remember? You fell ill last night, and called for me to come when you awoke, that I could check on you. You said that you were all lightheaded, overheated, dry, and things were on the whole seeming fuzzy?

Her brow furrowed noticeably as he entered. She was about to inquire when he spoke up. Her expression didn't change, though. She had no memory of this. She clung tightly to the blanket, sinking into the bed a little and eying him with a mixture of confusion and mistrust before finally speaking up.
"...I did?" She found herself asking, "I do...I feel sick...do you have any water?"
She felt like she'd die if she didn't have something to drink soon.

*The man pulled from his coat a bottle of water, one which seemed to have a faint orange tinge to it. Standing beside the bed and offering it to her, he smiled in much the way a doctor would when handing a child a lollipop*
I knew that you might need some, as you told me the plumbing has been acting up. Do drink up, and then we'll take a look at your vitals, hmm?

The sickly girl grabbed the bottle hastily, not bothering to look at it twice before she downed a huge chunk of it. She finally stopped with a gasp, catching her breath and feeling a wave of refreshment wash over her. The girl took another swig, then wiped her mouth with her sleeve as she handed the rest back to him. She felt a little better now, only a little, and readjusted her blankets some before looking at him. He wasn't as fuzzy as before, so she had to ask:
"A-am I contagious? You're dressed funny, for a doctor."
Many other questions were gathering up. Mainly, where was she? And also, why wasn't she at home, where she last remembered being? She vaguely recalled something...sand? It was bright. But no, that didn't make sense...

Hmm...? Oh, my apologies. I was doing some blood work and came right over. I didn't have time to change into anything else. You shouldn't be contagious, though I would like to take some time to see for myself what it is you have.
*pocketing the bottle he smirked to himself and then regained his composure*
Now, tell me my dear, what is the last thing that you actually do remember?
