"Honey, I'm hoooooome!!!"
Shuki flounces into her room, touching and disabling her lock. She misses her friends and hopes that she can have a party or something in her room, to meet and greet her fellow potential summoners. A storm is building outside, which makes her excited and practically bouncing off walls, so she puts on some music with a strong beat and lots of bass, and dances around, hoping to expend some energy. With a very important question for Darbince, she wonders whether he'd skin her alive if she pushed a note under the door of his lab to ask him. This question could answer a riddle that had been playing out in her mind and she sincerely hopes that he will tell her the answer.
She bounces out of her room in much the same fashion as she had entered.

Shuki collapses in a heap on the floor as soon as she enters her room. She slams the door shut, but it bounces open just a fraction. A howl of pain escapes her as her fangs burst through her gums, not gently sliding out as they would, had she been doing as she was supposed to. Her eyes flash to red and seem to glow eerily in the darkness. She wimpers, her body wracked with pain as it seeks the fluid that she refuses to give it. It had been far too long and the blood cravings threatened to tear her apart.

Edging towards the door, Karolina noticed it was open a crack. She moved over slowly and peeked through the crack, "Shuki, are you all right?" She asked softly before blinking at what she saw.

She bites down on her lip in an effort to make the pain and cravings stop, but her fangs bite right through and she cries out in pain again. Hearing a voice, she glances up and sees Karolina.
"No no no no no no no no... NO!"
Shuki forces herself not to move, clenching her eyes shut and shaking her head rapidly, hands over her ears.
Suddenly she stops. She stands with a control that she hadn't known she possessed, and walks briskly across to the small fridge beside her bed. She pulls out a bottle of red liquid and carefully unscrews the lid. Swallowing it, she cries silently, angry at herself for having to do it, and wishing, not for the first time, that she'd never asked for this.

Karolina frowned softly, entering the room despite Shuki's request that she didn't, "Shuki...what's the matter?" She asked, not looking as though she were frightened...just more confused than anything.

She finishes the bottle off and throws it at the wall, watching with grim satisfaction as it smashes and small drips of blood run down the wall.
Staring at the wall for a few moments, she remains silent, and when she finally speaks, her voice is so low and soft that it can barely be heard.
"I don't want this any more, Kar... I can't take it. I hate living this way... and I try... I try so hard, but the cravings keep coming back... and the longer I wait, the more it hurts." She closes her eyes.

Karolina walked over and settled down on Shuki's bed, patting the side next to it, "Sit, Shuki. Explain... Maybe...well, maybe I can help in some way," She said.

Shuki sits down beside Karolina and pauses for a moment, trying to think how to word her tale. Her voice comes out husky as she fights the urge to cry.
"A while ago... I fell in love... it was so dangerous and exciting... he was a vampire and I thought we'd be together forever. The problem with that was that I was human... he'd continue to live on forever young, while I'd grow old and die. He didn't want to do it, but I begged and begged him and eventually he said yes... He changed me and I became like him. Soon things started changing between us. He started cheating on me and it seemed like the whole world knew; he certainly never made it a secret... so I broke up with him, although his actions made me believe that he'd already done so, even if it was unofficially. The cravings are so hard to control... it hurts... but there's no known cure... so I'm trapped..." She trails off and stares at her hands, which rest in her lap.

Karolina smiled softly and gently took Shuki's hand, "People do crazy things for love," She said softly. "Wouldn't it just be easier...not to try and resist? I mean, if it's not something you can control..."

"I hate it though... I don't want to take the blood of another..." She stares at the wall, disgusted. "I just abhor it. And to live by it... makes me only the more of a monster for doing it."

"Shuki, you're doing what it takes to survive, and there is nothing monsterous about that," Karolina whispered. "Especially, especially not if the blood is given willing," She said, hoping...perhaps, Shuki would understand what she was leading at.

"My friends keep wanting to help, but in the end it's no use... I mean, my closest friend is a garou, so to take blood from him would just kill me. And it's not as though I can go around asking people... the less people that know, the better."
She leans over and pushes open the fridge, which is stocked with bottles of blood.
"It goes beyond disgusting. I hate having this stuff kept here. And it tastes like s**t." She slams the door closed, feeling annoyed at herself for speaking profanities. "I won't drink from humans, so all that's left is animals..." She shudders. "That whole fridge is stocked from rats..." She leans her head forward so that her fringe falls across her face, thoroughly disgusted in what she was forced to stoop to drinking.

"Well, that explains why it tastes like s**t..." Karolina said, making a face. "It's always best to go with cow or better... It's more pure that way..." She said before chuckling. "And South Haven uses a lot of blood in it's cooking..." She said, rubbing the back of her neck.

Shuki smiles a weak but genuine smile, almost laughing.
"I don't really have a lot of access to meat that I actually have to buy... much easier to kill it yourself... and certainly a lot cheaper. I don't think I'd last long if I had to buy it." She felt a bit embarrassed. Any and all of the finery in her room, she had created herself, none of it bought and paid for. All it would take was a word for it all to vanish, leaving behind the dirty rags that had been in the room to begin with.
"What sorts of things do you cook?"

Karolina smiled, "Blood pudding, organ meat dishes, rare dishes. We may be the domiant faction of the Fire element, but...we rarely use it in our cooking...unless we're making vegatables. Those get cooked," Karolina said, chuckling. "So, blood never really bothered me... And considering I even use my own for ink... Well..." Karolina trailed off, not sure where to go from there.
