I tried an ale in a local pub a few days ago that I quite liked, and now I've looked it up it seems I'm unlikely to get hold of any outside of the Westcountry.
It was an ale brewed by Otter Brewery, it was really very pleasant. Nothing too angily challenging, just..you know. Pleasant without being boring.

Invictus_88 Talkisker, Scotch Malt Whisky.
I've never had a whisky as peaty as this. A very new experience for me. It is made not on the Scottish mainland but on an island off the West coast with water drawn from what are apparently quite large peat bogs.
Very earthy, I'd have expected it to look misted with the strength of the flavour but it was wholly transparent as it should be.
I'm not sure I'm used to such a peaty malt, but it was certainly very interesting.

So we went to the bank the other day and they gave us a couple free smoothie-makers...So we decided to try throwing some things together to make some kind of drink. We bought vodka for the first time...We had never drank it on purpose before. That was interesting. So here's what we did...
(Into a four-cup blender or smootie-maker)
1 cup vodka. We used real cheap stuff. I mean...REALLY cheap...Like, $10 for a half-gallon...
1 1/2 cups orange juice. We used Minute Maid pulp-free...I don't like those little chunks...
3 scoops vanilla ice cream. We used Marsh brand, I think...Something cheap.
X amount of strawberries. I put in about five...three of them were HUGE, though...
X amount of ice. I put is as much as it took to fill the rest of the pitcher to the line...There wasn't much room.
Some people liked the way it turned out. Personally...I didn't care much for the texture. The consistency was too...warm...if that makes sense. The ratio of ice:ice cream was way-off. It was like the difference between the two different kinds of icing they put on cakes people buy at the store...The regular one and then the whipped one...I don't like whippied. It's not cold enough. So I would suggest much more ice, and much less ice cream. Much less ice cream. The flavor was mostly good. Using less ice cream would make it damn near perfect.

I personally don't suggest mixing last bits of alcoholol together. I had 25-30 different spirits mixed together straight, and you cant get that drunk because you constantly neeed to pee.
