"It's not cold," she shook her head and wiped the rain from her nose and eyes with a swipe of her hand."I don't want to get your coat wet," she said as if she were oblivious that it was raining and she wasn't the only thing wet. She looked at it, then him, and tilted her head to the side. "It could get ruined."

'So she isnt completely retarded,' he mused. "It's already wet on the outside, and I have others." His head was tilted downward so he was able to stare at her eye to eye. "Take it, you may keep it." Patiently he waited for the girl to take it from his grasp. "C'mon then," he urged.

She watched him then the coat. She reached forward, but instead of taking it she seemed to struggle with pulling something off. "The cats are everywhere tonight," she said before taking the coat as if she hadn't put up an argument before hand. Slipping her arms through the sleeves she held it close. "I'm Bobby," she said introducing herself without doing anything else in greeting. INstead she bunched her knees and then jumped into a rather large rain puddle. Leaving it her other sock and sweatshirt sleeve was left behind without her really noticing.

Gabriel laughed before continuing to walk. He expected that the girl would follow him. "Nice to meet you, Bobby. My name is Gabriel." Gabriel examined the picture they made. To think what others might think of them. A drenched rich man followed by a crazy girl. But then, what did he care. By now, his shirt clung to his skin, showing his lean but muscular body through the wet material. It was no use to try and wring the water out until he got home. He figured he could run really quickly home, but he didnt want to leave the poor girl out in the rain alone. It was almost as if he felt responsible for her well being now. Oh, what had he gotten himself into?

She trotted after him and spun in a circle raising her face upwards. "Maybe Edward will come back soon," she comented. That would be nice, she missed Edward even though he hadn't been gone very long. "Oh silly cat," she picked something up. Yes, she saw lots of cats, and she didn't think it was odd that they popped up out of no where. Holding the imaginary being in her hands she seemed to pet it as she followed him although she didn't realize why. She did just because she could, and because she wasn't getting any farther from a place she needed to be since she lived anywhere along this street and anywhere in this town.

Gabriel walked onward, every now and then looking back to see if the girl was still following him. "Don't you have a home, Bobby?" He asked, stopping to face her. It was pretty apparent that she had no place to take shelter, but he asked nonetheless. "Any family or friends?" He paused for a moment. "Besides Edward, that is."

"I do have a home," she nodded pointing backwards towards a shadowed alley. "Edward could be there.." she said absently. "Edgaris my family.. if I've had others I don't remember them and they don't remember me. That's what Edgar told me," she nodded her head. "I have a pretty little garden and a wooden house with windows and a sky light," she told him. She was speaking of a stack of crates with leaky tops and the grass and moss growing along the brick walls of the alley way.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow. "A wooden house with a pretty garden, huh?" he said, not really believing that she got her facts right. Once again, he looked her over. Her clothes clearly had no hint of civil living conditions. Gabriel licked his lips. He started to feel a small need to feed, and as a result, his fangs grew and he took a step towards the girl. Immidiately after, however, he came to his senses and drew back, only to turn around and start walking again. He needed to get home. At home, perhaps, he would be able to get a drink.

She hardly noticed and she jumped in a puddle before following him again. "YOu acted funny," she finally said which made it apparent that Bobby had noticed a change for a moment. She spun in circles for a moment before walking normal, and almost seeming normal besides her clothes. She seemed to become a little more normal the more she was around someone other than Edgar.

Gabriel was slightly surprised that Bobby noticed his brief change, but before he could think of it an longer they had arrived at his large house. Unnoticed, they had actually gone through several dark allyways to get to road that led to his large two story house that he was able to purchase with the money he gained from his years of living. Opening the large iron gates of the fence that surrounded his property, Gabriel continued to walk up the road, heading for the door of his home, not caring if the girl followed or not. She did believe she had a home of her own, after all.

She stopped and stared, her eyes widening as she looked at the large house. "Is this yours?" she asked not moving in from the iron gates. She didn't actually go inside homes, she hadn't in years. Edgar had said that they were bad, that living in a house would hurt her and that she was better off where she was.

Gabriel stopped and turned his head around, looking at her few feet away from her and the gate. Hands in his wet pockets and water streaking down his pale face, he looked tired. "Yes, this house is mine. You are welcome to stay here if you wish," he said, not really realizing what he had said until a moment later. What was wrong with him? He told himself that he didnt really care if this simple minded mortal was alone on the dangerous streets at night, but if that was what he truly believed, he didnt know.
He looked at her. Her blue hair now visible from the washing of the rain and her small figure folded in his large black coat. She was so innocent looking... Was that why he felt so compelled to help her? Turning back around he added, "My servants can clean you up and give you dinner. You look like you need it." Once at the door he placed his key in the keyhole before looking back at her still at the gate. He raised his eyebrows. "Are you coming?" he asked.

"Edgar says houses are bad..." she said softly almost looking scared of it. She licked her lips, then chewed on it. "You have snakes..." she added looking around the gate with an almost terrified look. Yes, Edgar's words were embedded in her mind, and it was channeled to her imagination which created what she saw. Her eyes darted back to him. She stayed where she was. SHe wanted to, at least a part of her did.

Gabriel looked around. "I dont see any snakes," he said. Taking back the key from the lock, he walked back to her. The rain softened now and hit his numb cheeks ever so lightly. "How are houses bad?" he questioned, reaching her. Gabriel looked around with disbelief and sighed. "Look, if you're scared of the snakes, I can carry you to the house if you would like." It was obvious he had made his choice that she would stay with him now.

"He told me if I stayed to long I wouldn't be able to see him anymore.." she said her eyes trained on the snakes. She backed away again every so slightly since they were on the gate.
