Hahaha you want to update the first post to reflect the changed definitions and make them clearer.

I still stand by my answer, though, about equal is the best. I don't like playing into roles, it's restricting. Besides, one of my joys in life is cajoling people into clothes they wouldn't normally wear. Like skirts. Or guys' jeans.

Bermuda shorts for me. I like being in control in certain areas (ahem!), but other times I feel like being all cute and clingy and stuff.

XD I agree pretty much with that. I'd just hate to be stuck, and I don't like it when it's too like "What are you doing?" if I decide to switch for the occasion. So yeah. :] Fluid and relatively equal.

XD I'm not sure whether you're talking figuratively or literally. Of course I wear shorts?

Great way to ask the question, though, and something I haven't really seen brought up that much (or asked in that way) here. It's neat to see the responses.

I'm technically straight, but I think if I weren't, I'd be skirts. I'm kind of a submissive person, I hate to say it. I like being cuddled and protected. whee The worst part is, I consider myself a feminist. Yeaaah...I'm such a hypocrite. But I just don't like being in charge a lot.

You're mistaken. A feminist is someone who fights and advocates for equal rights between men and women, so of course, every one of us here is a feminist, unless a girl here actually WANTS to have her every move controlled by a man... *shivers*

But anyways!! Clothes don't necessarily determine the roles you play in a relationship. I'd think that usually, the ones who wear pants are more of the submissive type, since they are the least revealing of all the clothes aforementioned. They would fit a conservative type. Skirts on the other hand, are probably for the dominant ones, as their self confidence truly shines.. And I mean REALLY shines, with those strawberry patterns and sexy legs. XD Shorts can be for either, or for the switch, but then again, clothes don't really tell people if you're the top or bottom person.

When it comes down to it, being a seme or a uke is all~ in the personality.

Agreed, being a feminist means equality and equal rights, not being treated like crap--not really "women power" or anything.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with being submissive or liking to be protected. Some people just are that way, and some people are just the type to be very protective or dominant in relationships. And some people just like to go with the flow. Unless you let someone control your life or consider yourself to be less than someone else...that kind of thing. :]

Whew! I really liked you guys' responses. I feel a lot better, and what you're saying certainly makes a lot more sense than what some people have been trying to tell me.

I keep running into "feminist" *cough* girls at my university who see me as a "project" and only seem to try to become my friend so they can "toughen me up". It really sucks, because I don't feel the need to be their image of "tough." I really dislike the steriotype that all feminists are mean, angry b***ches and hate men. My dad and brothers consider themselves feminists, and they certainly don't fit that image.

But yeah, a lot of girls at my school try to tell me that "real girls" don't let themselves get rescued, or be the princess in stories, or wear makeup or girly clothes, or whatever. Kinda doesn't fit with my love of Revolutionary Girl Utena, where there's a beautiful and protective "Prince" as well as a lovely and cherished "Princess." Oh, well.

While I prefer to be the one being protected (and babied, lol) in relationships, I would be quite pissed if someone tried actually controlling me, or treating me as inferior in any way. So thanks guys! ^^

Whaaat? Why are they telling you not to wear make up? I mean, as far as being a feminist goes, I don't see anything about cosmetics that kind of links to misogyny or the ideal of female inferiority. It's used to make yourself look beautiful, although I myself don't like using make up at all. neutral

It seems that these girls are just somewhat androphobic. You like what you like, and girly clothes are for girls, so why shouldn't you wear them?

Besides, your liking of being babied has nothing to do with the desire to be controlled or to be viewed or treated as an inferior being. It's stupidly obvious how these two could be so different, yet their meanings are erroneously interchanged and surprisingly thought to be connected to the other.
