i buy my skincare from Lush all their products are handmade from natural ingredients, organic and vegan where possible, with minimal preservatives/packaging too, reading they're product catalogue(which is in the form of a newspaper) makes you want to buy every one of their products, they have a great philosophy and care about what the product actually does, not how it looks/smells or how to maximise its shelf life, they actually put use by's on the bottles and a sticker with a pic of the person who made it.
I'm only on minimum wage and their products aren't the cheapest, but i'd rather buy for them than any other fancy brand that's full of chemicals and other nasties.

One thing that i read in a past catalogue that has stuck with me, they were talking about their moisturisers..saying that the big skincare companies seem to be more bothered about product consistency that what they actually do for your skin, they load them up with emulsifiers and preservatives until the product's molecules are so big that they just sit proudly on the skin's surface unti it's time to wash them off again.

if i remember to cleanse, tone and moisturise my face morning AND night with my Lush products, by the second day my skin positively glows! i never thought it could look like that and for that reason i shall stick with their products even if they do cost me more than stuff from a drugstore 3nodding

Does anyone have any advice on what I can do about getting rid of my acne? I am so tired of it. I have tried meds my doc has given me and store bought things like natures cure (which caused me to break out in rashes and my eyes itched and swelled). I have had acne since 4th grade and I am 22 now.

I have a great aromatherapy oil skin cleanser for acne at home. I'll post it up later for you. It works great; my fiance has acne and he uses it on his skin wherever he needs to and it really works well.

Referencing "The Green Pharmacy" by James A. Duke, Ph.D.
Skin Problems (page 392)

Aloe:
take the leaves, slice down it and extract the pulp. apply to irritated areas.

Evening Primrose:
this is especially good for eczema. the oils of the evening primrose are good for acne (not sure if this is applied to skin or aroma therapy, assuming applied to skin, however its not stated explicitly). also evening primrose can be bought in capsule form in health stores and taken internally for skin problems.

Avocado:
blended into a face mask, or the oils applied to skin are good. also eating avocado is good for skin.

Calendula:
calendula in ointment form should be applied directly to acne (follow directions on ointments for specifics)

Camomile:
either in tea for and drank, or used as a compress on the irritated areas its both good for the skin, however

Cucumber:
peel, the put in a blender. use the puree directly on the skin and leave for 15-60 minutes.

Gotu Kola:
the leaves are unavailable in the US so buying a tincture is the next best thing.

Wild Pansy:
take about a teaspoon and make into a tea with boiling water, let sit for about 10 minutes.

Witch Hazel:
use witch hazel water externally, especially good for damaged skin.

Carrot:
the vitamin A in carrots is good for the skin, just eating them helps.

English Plaintain:
external treatment with plaintain leaves is good for minor skin problems.

Ivy:
chopped and sent through a blender, the mixture should then be applied directly to affected areas.

MarshMallow:
take fresh root, put through a juicer and apply the liquid to affected areas.

Fruits:
pineapple, apple, grape, gardenia, and tamarind are good fruits to eat to improve skin quality.

Purslane:
put in blender and make into a face mask. let sit on skin for 20 minutes.

Walnut:
the leaves steeped in hot water, then let to cool can be applied to irritation. also adding the leaves to a hot bath can help with skin problems.

Hm.... what about blending them? Something like avocado-cucumber with a touch of witch hazel, blended into a nice cream for the face. Make a mask of it?
