Here I am again, doing nothing that one could consider entertaining, just sittin on the couch and watching the contraption muggles call television. I must admit, the device can be quite entertaining but I am not sure how muggle children can resort to sitting in front of it all day! I 've been watching it for an hour and I am bored with it. Well, muggles are weird people. So, with nothing left to do I hop up off the sofa and trapse into the kitchen as the smell of breakfast wafted through the room.

Taking a seat at the table I stiffle a yawn and look at the things layed out in front of me. Butter, jam, and syrup... looks like pancakes. Stretching I turn to Kolina whose over the stove creating quite a hefty stack of pancakes. One would think she was going to serve an army with a pile that big. After a few more minutes of watching her cook she finally turns off the stove, pops the pan into the sink and walks over to the table with her monstrosity of a pancake stack.

"And who does she think is going to eat all those bloody pancakes." I muttered to myself, maybe a little too loudly.

"Watch your language." Her eyes set upon me. Damn that look, no matter what it always makes me feel bad. "And you and I are going to eat these pancakes. You're a growing boy and need your nutrition and I am just plain hungry." Her stare had changed from chastising to a gleeful.

With nothing left to do I sighed and stabbed the stack with my fork to place about four pancakes onto my plate. Lathering them up with butter and syrup I dig into them. As usual the food was quite good. I had to give it to Kolina, she wasn't a bad chef.

Polishing off my four pancakes I eyed the remaining stack but my stomache thought otherwise and clearly told me no more food was needed. While Kolina was busy pouring more syrup on her new stack I quietly tried to slip away.

"Where do you think you're going? Get back here and have some more."

I stopped dead in my tracks and cringed. Why this woman created such a 'fear' in me when she spoke I'll never know. "I am full Kolina! I couldn't possibly eat anymore, besides, I have to go tend to Fanchon."

At that moment a large barn owl descided to make it's apperance and fly through the open kitchen Window. Eyeing the Hogwarts crest on it I quickly snatched it up. "It's from Hogwarts! FINALLY I thought the dunderheads would never... oops." Glancing over at Kolina I knew I was in trouble.

"Xilias! How many times do I have to tell you NOT to insult Hogwarts or any of it's staff members. This school is you're last chance because I refuse to send you anywhere else. Besides..."

I growled and threw up my hands. "Fine! I understand! I won't say anything about the bloody school anymore! Just let me read my letter!" I eyed the woman but was met with a glare of her own, eventually I relented and slipped out of the kitchen and into the parlor, letter in hand.

Flopping onto the sofa I took little notice of the envelope the letter came in and quickly broke the wax seal to get to the letter inside. Boy was I in for a dissapointing surprise.

"WHAT!?!?!?!?" I am sure the neighbors down the street heard me that time. Kolina came rushing in as I went on a tantrum. "How could they do this to me! I already attended my first year of school! Why should I have to do it again! They're so incompetent they don't even see the talent I posses! To think they would lower me to such disgrace!?"

The letter was crumbled in my hands. I hadn't even finished reading it but that one sentence was enough to set me off.

"Xilias! Calm down this instant! The last thing I need is your temper causing accidental magic. Now I need to you think logically. You never finished your first year of school so you probably missed quite a bit. I am sure they feel you'll excel better in the first year than second." Kolina had coruched down in front of me and placed her hands on my knees as she spoke, but I was still seeing red.

"I answered all the damn questions, and did all the spells and potions they asked of me!? I just don't understand how they could do this to me! To think, a 12 year old in the first year! I WILL be twelve you know! It'll be such an embarrasment!"

Kolina had attempted to calm me again but it was no use. I completely blocked out all her words as I flung the letter to the floor and stormed up to my bedroom, ending Kolina's words as I slammed my door shut. This was going to be a long year.
