"That definitely is an interesting mystery." Shisharen agreed. "However, I know exactly what my superiors would think of such a thing. 'It is evil. Destroy it.'" She shook her head. "At this point, they're starting to become monsters just like those we fight. The concept of mercy is.. well, forgotten."

Calar nodded sadly. "The day's are becoming such that it is either kill, or be killed. I'd prefer not to try to do this, only the way the chalice keeps disappearing, I'd like to know who does it, and most importantly why? What sort of secret is it hidding, to have to be hidden so well?" Calar shook his head. "Oh well, best to keep moving, and not to think about too many things at one time."

"Well, since I'm not on any mission at the moment, and the chalice is something that I could be called to investigate.. I think I'll join you." She told him. "I don't want to go back and get another official mission, anyway."

"That's a relief." Calar told her. "I was actually looking for some help. I think that by the fact that the groups that disappeared were always larger, that just the two of us should be able to get by."

Shisharen nodded. "And one person is too small, I would think." She added. Then she glanced over toward the door. "Well, I think those men you angered are long gone, so it would probably be best if we left. We don't want to be found in here, do we?"

"Probably not." Calar agreed ruefully. "I think that the best place to start would be the place where I was trying to get to before being interupted. It's an old library."

"Sounds interesting." Shisharen said, going over to the door and opening it. She hesitated for a moment, letting her eyes adjust to the light. "Well, come on then." She said to Calar.

Calar led her out into the streets of the city, and, walking confidenly, he moved through the empty streets for about the time of a half hour. After that time period, Calar stood in front of the steps of an old, closed off library. "I have to admit." Calar said suddenly, after standing in silence for a second. "That those men that chased me actually were chasing me because I had tried to get in here."

"That would have been helpful to know..." Shisharen said with a sigh. But she straightened up, examining the place. "Well, we might as well see if Paladin authority works here as well." She said resignedly.

Calar shrugged and moved up the steps slowly, hoping that Shisharen's paladin office would allow them to enter peacefully.

Shisharen closed her eyes for a moment, taking time to relax and concentrate. When she opened her eyes again, she had an aura of command about her, as if she expected others to obey her. She smiled at Calar nervously and whispered, "Play along." Then she started up the steps purposefully, with an annoyed look on her face.

Calar nodded, moving up behind Shisharen confidently, a slight smirk on his face.
