"By all means. You've all done well, and you've all earned a reward." Shinji stood and grabbed three seperate lunch boxes. He handed one to each student in passing, each box shut and locked with a small diary style padlock.
"If you had gotten your question wrong, each of you would have been sprayed by paint. At which point, I would offer some advice, then instruct you to return to the box and finish the question. You all seemed to see through the riddles correctly, so these are yours. You all must be hungry... But I seem to have forgotten something. I'll be right back. Stay here please." What did Shinji forget? It was hard to say. He had handed a lunch box to each student. Each box was black wood, and locked. Each student had their own keys.
Shinji walked off and disapeared to the right into the trees. His chakra signature slowly grew fainter and fainter as he went further and further.

He took the Lunch box as shinji handed it to him and then began to try and figure out how to open the damn thing then he remembered the Key and put it in the Lock turned it and heard the lock click open "ah food" of he open the box and looked inside and began to eat his lunch

Xio took the box with a smile and put it in her backpack next to the key saving it for later " i had a good big breakfeast" smiling and not hungry at the moment then laid back in the chair staying alert but resting her eyes a little

Hehe, breakfast thats why Kaole was late. He slept in on accident and skipped breakfast in order to get here faster. Kaole had seen what Zakhar had done, and opened his box in a slightly more relaxed manor. When the lock clicked open he began to eat the food. He wanted to eat fast but he wanted to seem as if he wasnt starving, though he was.

Xio watched the other two eat there boxes and sat wondering where the hell did Sensei go he had only been gone a few minutes but she was still thinking about it

As the boxes opened, the reason for Shinji's disapearnace may have begun to come clear. There were a series of silent clicks inside the boxes, and 5 secconds after opening, the boxes spewed out black spraypaint at their holders. Shinji returned a minute later with 3 sealing tags. "Oh my... I don't recall telling you that you could open the boxes. Did you both assume information and then pay for it?"
What Shinji meant by 'pay for it' was that the food inside the boxes was now basically covered in paint. All that remained in the triggered boxes was a small sealed canteen of water, and a single riceball wrapped in plastic. Eveything else was unwrapped, and practically inedible. "Now it would seem that the only ones with good sized meals are myself, and Xiomara, who seems to not be hungry."
Shinji handed a tag to Xiomara. "Place this tag on the bottom of the box before opening it in order to supress the trap. I don't suppose you two would like one at this point considering..."

Zakhar had downed the entire box quickly and at the end he pulled out his water canteen and drank from it he put the empty box in his bag and put the key in his shirt pocket and then lay on the grass digesting his lunch

ZTSChronicle Zakhar had downed the entire box quickly and at the end he pulled out his water canteen and drank from it he put the empty box in his bag and put the key in his shirt pocket and then lay on the grass digesting his lunch ((See my above post and re post after reading it.))

Kaole felt stupid. It was ninja training and he should have expected it. Now all that was left was the water and he hadnt had breakfast either. He shrugged and placed the box upon the ground. He waited for shin to give instructions before he did anything else.

Zakhar now found himself to be covered in paint and laying on the grass luminescent and feeling stupid "damn i was hungry too"

Xio took the tag and put it on the bottom of the box then placed it back in her backpack for a minute then looking at the other two pulled it out unlocked it and gave each Zakhar and Kaole half of her lunch excpet for the riceball which she took
"here ya go now enjoy it for me"
she said with a smile on her face handing each of them their halfs

Zakhar got up off of the ground and hugged his new team mate "thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you" he let go of her and began to now slowly cherish his his new meal

"You see? There are always alternatives available. One: You have a teammate who does not feel inclined to eat at the moment with undamaged food who may, and is willing to share. Two: You have a sensei who you could ask politely to share with. Three: You could forage. Four: You could use diplomacy and nogotiate a seccond supply. Five: You could forcibly sieze food from others..."
Shinji smirked and walked back to his rock. "Being a jounin, it's my duty, however, to protect the future of our village. Therefore, my meal is yours. It is not locked, and it is not trapped."

Kaole looked at the food and then a Xi. He was in a disbeleif as he took the part away. Standing from his seat kaole bowed to Xi. "Thank you very much. I owe you. If you ever need any help, even outside of the team, i will help."

Xiomara bowed her head but refused the food her sensei offered her and merely ate the riceball from her original lunch
"Sensei your food is also your and as your genin it is our duty if need be to protect our teacher so your food is yours"
She smiled and looked at the teacher then continued to nibble on her rice ball
