tigerishdragon when we have pep rallies we go down a looooong street, and we make a LOT of noise (there are over 200 of us) and along the sidewalk there are a lot of people listening and cheering us on and calling our section names...there are usually people also taking pictures and are with video cameras basically our community loves us heart ...except some people in our own school crying
2nd pd algebra: OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!~ PEP RALLY! WOOT!
yeah. hes a piece of work.....
what really irked me at this years pep rally was that the cheerleaders tried to use flags.....*shudder* electrical tape, anyone???

I KNO!!!! when the flags came out they were just like...running around stupidly with them, and i stood up and wus like WTF MATE?????? they just wanna b us cus they jealous, yo talk2hand

The cheerleaders can't even hope to do what we do at my school. Even the principal agrees.

Even the principal agrees. nice. our principal comes to see us after band camp, but i have never seen or heard about her coming over to talk to us. she just compliments the general marching band.....which includes us but she says stuff like "oh the marching band looks so great for only duing this for two weeks! keep up the good work, everyone!" and she will congratulate us, but yeah....very much not involved in our affairs.
we used to play with shiny purple poms in the stands (along with the dance team, but they dont sit anywhere near us...), but after my coach's sister graduated, she took the poms with her.....im going to ask her if we could bring them back for next year.....

Aiyuri Sorano Erin Sovenya Our cheerleaders would NEVER give us anything, not unless forced. The whole band is so unappreciated at our school. When the winterguard won 1st place at every competition one season, we got on the announcements, and half the people didn't hear the announcement, and out of the rest, half didn't know wtf winterguard (or colorguard) was, and the rest thought that if WE could win it must be simple, because what we do doesn't look that hard scream For pep rallies, all participants (ie cheerleaders, band, guard) are supposed to be allowed to skip last period to change/warm up/whatever, but some teachers refuse to let guardies/bandos go, because "what could you have to get ready for?" Wow, that kinda sucks... You'd never experience that at my school. The band is actually pretty respected. I know the football teams likes us. The cheerleaders, like I've mentioned, are bearable... They like the drumline more than they do the rest of the band, though. And the priciple came to our competition on Saturday! It was really cool! Its not as bad as all that, despite how it sounds. The football team does like us (though whether its mocking or not hadn't been decided when I graduated) adn the principal does too. And if they won't excuse you from class, a senior from your section will make the rounds to collect you (we seniors, of course, knew how to get out of classes, reason or no reason, and know how to get other people out of class too) or we'd get the office to make an announcement on the PA for all bandies to report to the band room.

in my school we had "genral announcments" whitch ment if we brought something on a peice of paper and it had to do with school or the people in it it would be read, like birthdays and such so the guard was on every week no matter what place we came in.
our BD deffinatly hates what we do though (the competeing) so he cut us from the band funding so we had no choice but to break away from the school entirly because we couldent get support for anything like busses and new silks (we had a man say he would donate to us but the school wouldent let him gonk )
well it all turned out for the better cuz now event though i moved and graduated i can be on the guard again next year! blaugh

it just annoys me when the announcements come on, and they're like "wooh! the field hockey team won their last game yaaa!" and it's the monday after nationals, and nothing is mentioned. and someone who's in the band says something, and someone else is like, wut's colorguard?/you guys compete?/wut do you do, see who can twirl the fastest?
