No, do not make yourself known. It's not necessary nor is it important. Besides you have the right to remain anonymous and that right should be respected. If it is not, best believe, even though I shouldn't, I"ll show people how their ignorance towards that right will not be tolerated. I may not be staff but if I must I'll act like a staff member.

It is no problem, Whisper. I just want to make it clear I do no mean to talk down to anyone. I appreciate everyone's opinions and I want everyone to feel safe posting them.
Thank you Jezabelle, I am glad you see the situation like that.

It's 2:07 my time, and here I am, 2 hours after going to bed, still pissed as hell over this stupid s**t that this shop is doling out. I had every intention of not posting here, not because I'm acting all 'elitist and perfect' and stuffs and that none of this applies to me, when I very well know it's not true. It's because I've just reached my limit for how much stress and crap and s**t I can take before I blow up in people's faces. ((Please note that this is written with a very calm mind...if I was actually angry anymore as I was before I started writing this, it wouldn't be half this long xd )) So I give you fair warning right now that if you don't want to hear what I have to say, then just continue to scroll downwards. You got a LONG ways to go to get to the next post! First of all, I want to apologize to the newbies, those that might get the impression that I think of myself as an elitist, and that cause I've been here in this shop for 2 years nearly every day since I joined I don't have to deal with new people....that's not true. I'm sorry if you ever get the idea that way about me because I'm actually very damn nice and I've been known to give away lions and be the one (not the only one, mind you, I don't claim that) to give others who've wanted lions but don't have one their start. I love newbies and I know they're important in keeping a shop alive as well as the oldbies and the employees. Everyone in a shop has an important role, and no one is truly above another...the customers are just as important as the employees and the ones who've been there awhile as well. I've always tried to say hi to new people and include them...if I seem to be ignoring you now, it's only cause I'm very very stressed out with real life matters and have taken mostly to keeping to myself. Even my closest friends can attest the fact I don't talk nearly as much as I used to gonk Now...the next point I want to bring up is the whole bribe thing. No, I'm not bringing this up to piss people off, even if it does do that, I'm bringing it up to highlight another problem that someone stated and it was mentioned in here earlier as well. The rule has been in place for months, around about 4 or so, I know, since I first learned of it while I was still working in Detroit. The rule was exactly this: Bribes were no longer allowed. Plain and simple, short and to the point. Someone blabs a bribe was made and all of a sudden people are up in arms about it. I find it sorta amusing. Why? Mostly because the reason the people are mad is CAUSE THEY WERE CAUGHT. Isn't that the way with the world lately that we tend to get mad and angry is cause we finally get caught at something that we knew was wrong in the first place? Sure, the one who told of it could of done it a different way, but would anything of happened? No, at least I highly doubt it. Could they have confronted the colorist with the proof, and then gone to the owner when nothing was done? Sure...but in this shop, the one's who've been here long enough to know the truth, nothing would of been done, most certainly by the owner. Here's my reasons for the last statement, before I get yelled at for being inconsiderate, and I have to, I'll find you the proof it myself, but I shouldn't have to, as there's enough people who know it as well to back me up. 1.) The owner has stated HERSELF in the old main thread, 2 years ago, these words...that SHE HATES RULES. She has openly admitted ALOUD that she hates them both in RL and in the shop. 2.) She also said she sees no real reason to enforce rules because in her eyes that's hypocritical...why enforce something you don't believe in nor see a need for, in the first place? 3.) She continued on the state that she would not of had rules in the shop if it had been her choice. 4.) She said it was the colorists who put up the rules cause they felt a need to protect themselves. and the kicker? 5.) There's been only 2 punishments given out in the whole time that I have been here...repeated PMs of complaints did NOTHING. What did do it is when those that were fed up of the stupidity of others finally actively voiced aloud this sentiment: That either something was done, or they'd boycott/ditch the shop....then a good portion left till finally our voices were heard by the owner and a punishment was dealt. (Actually, I do remember now a third punishment, but that one wasn't nearly as bad the other two, the offence not nearly as severe, and it went over fairly well and with not nearly as much drama as the two I'm referring to, so for argument's sake, I'm ignoring that one for the moment....) My Personal Opinion (take it as you may): They did the only honorable thing they could do to guarantee their voice was heard and the ones involved were caught, and I applaud them for their willingness to stand up for what they know is right, whether or not people got mad at them. Plain and simple, I admire the guts that move took. Get mad at me all you want, I admire those that have the guts to stand up for what's right. And now a bit of small text.... It also does not matter how honorable your intentions might of been taking the gold, putting it towards buying tickets, what have you...the fact of the matter is the gold would of filtered back to you anyways. Think about it. Sure not all the gold might of made it back, and others would of benefited as well unknowingly, from the deal, but the fact is that you would of still profited no matter what even if it's still only a portion. That in my eyes equals a bribe, and against the rules, no matter how pretty and innocent you try and make it look. Don't get me wrong this is NOT a personal attack to make you look bad...it's only a fact that no matter how many dresses ribbons and bows you stick on a man, his genitals still hang on the outside. No matter how pretty it looks, a bribe is a bribe.Now...on to the point of all this, that was also repeated earlier, about the accusation that because oldbies break rules, the newbies can too. The fact is that no one can....or better yet, no one should. Rules have a reason for existing and all this drama proves why. Newbies -- I remember one of first few days I was in the shop (well, in the event that brought me into the shop and got me my first three lions) how there was one girl who came in the thread and started asking simple questions. Doodle's answer was "read the first page because that's where all the answers to your questions are." The girl actually got into a fight with her all cause she refused to read the first page and just expected people to tell her what she wanted to know when it was already there for her in literal black and white. Now, don't get me wrong...I'm not saying you guys are like her, but there is a difference in breaking rule cause you didn't realize it existed despite having read the first page where everything is spelled out (in which case your innocent, because we all miss things sometimes, not a single one of us is innocent of that, and in some causes it is the employees fault for leaving something out, which has been known to happen as well) and breaking one simply cause you made the choice not to read the front page and just expected that because you're new you'd be made an exception...or even that you heard cause others get away with things cause the rules aren't enforced, you can too. Oldbies -- There's no excuse for you guys breaking rules at all, and yet I've seen it done. You guys should really know better. Again, I want to stress the fact I know I'm not completely innocent of causing some drama myself, nor of breaking a rule, but the only time I have was actually not intentional. I have done my best to follow the rules to the best of my abilities - to uphold the honor of being a member of this shop (and really any shop), and no I'm not perfect, nor do I claim to be. I'm not an elitist, I know very well that I'm no better than anyone else, and I don't judge others to be below me simply cause I've been here longer. Again, I apologize to those whom may have felt that I have, again that's unintentional. I am just sick and tired of the stupidity of the old and new alike...the INTENTIONAL stupidity (not the innocent kind), the meanness that the old have shown for the new, and that the new show for the old, for the general lack of disrespect...A comment was made the same night the last bout of drama occurred that PL is a ticking time bomb...that's something I've said for many months now. One comment, no matter how innocent, and the place just blows up. I noticed the interesting point that what Monkey quoted here about what she said about giving Rhea piss and not really truly caring came before the fight broke out. There was no reason for the fight to break out at all, especially after that comment/explanation.. It's just getting to the point people are looking for any excuse to fight anymore, and what are you doing but causing more hard feelings, not only between the new and old, but also causing the rifts that are so evident in this ship to grow wider? We should be working towards making this place better. We should be working together, being friendly to everyone. There is so much damage that has been done in this shop, that I'll be honest and admit that I have no clue if it's really fixable anymore. There is great evidence that the shop is failing...many members are discontent and a good portion would leave if they had a "home" to go to, and the only reason they come back is for the few friends they respect that hang in the shop anymore. I'll be honest and admit that the only fix I know of that might fully cure the shop eventually would be a change in ownership...to get an owner who is not afraid to enforce rules and peace, but as it's already been stated by the current owner twice, once 2 years ago, the other within the last 2 months, that she will never sell the lines so that's out of the question....it's either that or give someone full power to enforce the rules, but we see how well the 'punisher' role worked out didn't we? So maybe I didn't voice any good ways to fix the problem but I have finally let my voice be heard after sitting on the sidelines and watching for so long. I don't very often voice my opinion on things, usually I chose to walk away before I strangle someone to death, but everyone has their point that they just can't stand not saying or doing something anymore. But hey, least I can sleep now that I've finally let myself be heard and at the moment, that's what matters most to me. @Monkey: that quiz idea is an interesting one...not sure entirely how to impliment it, but it does give me ideas for my own shops...thank you! @Whoever is on the mule...I 2nd Jez's thought that you have your right to your privacy, and I too will stand by your right to choose to post this way. heart Actually I think it's a smart choice too, as it's easier to mediate between others when no one as preconceived notions about you from the start (if that makes sense... I apologize if not, I've been writing this for 2 hours and it's now 4am. Hard to make sense when your tired and your mind has finally calmed down xd ) Last of all, I'd like to echo this sentiment: Jezabelle Kissntell Now that you see I am not afraid either to speak my mind using my own account, feel free to PM me if you have any issues with what I said. I don't care how you approach me. You can be calm and civilized or an all out jack a** because either way nothing that you will say will change my mind and I'm sure the same goes for you. But as long as we can come to a point where we can look and speak to each other and have a grounds of understanding thats all that matters. ((Damn...it's amazing how much I have to say when I finally get to the point it spills out...it's 4:15...took me over 2 hours to write it! o.o))

If you all need someone to blame, if that will make everything get better, because it seems all my efforts have done nothing but make some people suspicious of a person that has been here for weeks, then I am the one to blame. Surprising, huh? I was actually speaking with someone that controls PL Tiaret, who's not a friend, and was afraid of posting her thoughts on the issues, thus, I told her to give me the password and I'll do it myself and take full responsibility for it. Granted, I did hid behind Tiaret for the fact that I feared I would somehow get blacklisted, but then I thought about it, if that is the case, I won't be affected in RL. Right now, I have alot of things going on in RL that are much more important, if fact, worlds more important than anything on Gaia. However, since I entered the shop, I believe a year ago, there has been nothing but the drama I stated in my first post.
There main reason why I'm doing this (coming out to you all) is because I'm positive that there are still people that will point there fingers at Doodle. She's pregnant. She hasn't been on Gaia for a solid hour since the PL 3 year anniversary thread started. She is a friend of mine and I'm Godfather to her baby. I don't want anything to happen to her. The person that handed me the password was NOT my friend. Well, she is actually, but that's from talking to one another the past two days. I actually haven't spoken with Doodle in a while. We've both been too busy.
Now, I'm sure it's not believable, but believe it. I have nothing to lose except my lions. Most of the PL Tiaret girls have a lot more to lose. If she was afraid, then why not let me be the one to post up my thoughts? That way, she's safe and punishment will be dealt out on ME. Punish me if you so please, it won't change the fact, in fact, it will bring it further into the light, that PL has hit an all time low now because you ladies cannot get along with one another. There are only four boys in the thread, three with lions. (At least what I've seen. Maybe one or two more.) That's D, Kaalaa Naag, Son of Revenge (well, he kinda doesn't count. He's never seen the drama) and myself. You don't see us fighting for supremacy. We don't argue with each other over the immature things that some of you argue about, and we're MEN. Testosterone is supposed to make you a little more arrogant, and estrogen is supposed to give you more common sense, which is why, I'll admit, men can be alot more idiotic than women, but here, I see the reverse. How can it be that when you have a group of women, they all want to bite each other's heads off? For what, ladies?
Enough of the drama and enough of the BS. I'm not hiding anymore and I'm not going to stand for my friend's being stressed out because of unfair deals, bribes, harassment, etc. and nothing being done because they're not friends with the shop owner, or because they have the most lions, or something immature like that. Learn to RESPECT each other and MAYBE the thread will survive. If not, well, Ushi might have to find another source of income. If you have anything to say to me at all, please PM me. I'll be on until 2 o'clock today. Flame me as you wish, I care not. All I want is for you girls, (not all of you, mind you, but yes, about 95% of you, friends of mine included) to stop disrespecting each other.
P.S. Yes, i do admit in te past, Marinity and I had our differences, if someone would like to bring that up, and yes, I flew off the handle, but I look back on it now and regret doing so for the simple fact that I stooped down to the level that alot of you (NOT SAYING RINI) are still at even today. Leave the drama in the inbox. Smile in the face of your enemy. They hate that. Until next time, PLers.

Sticks and Stones may break my bones, But whips and chains excite me... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Before i begin, let me make a note that i am not pointing fingers at anyone.
"I may not approve of what you say, but i will defend to the death your right to say it"
I quite honestly don't see what is to not get along about. Now, this may be because i'm stupid, But i've thought of myself as everybody's friend, even now.
I know everything can't be sunshine and rainbows and cookies, but can we at least try? I try not to disrespect anybody (though i think i've slipped up a few times), I try to be a friend that someone can proudly proclaim 'Rhea is my friend!' and that's hard to do when you're reliving high school in a thread.
How old are most people here? Into their 20's? I know that there are a few teenagers in here under 18, but they've acted the most maturely. I always hear "Young people these days don't respect their elders like they should." Well i'll tell you what, i have a lot of respect for the older members of this shop, but little, if any, respect is directed back towards me. Yes, i'm odd. Yes, i suck at RPing. Yes, i am immature. Yes, i've probably pissed off a couple of people unintentionally. I have my own opinions as well, but i'm too afraid to alienate someone and risk losing the fragile friendships i have.
Like i've said before, don't make assumptions until all facts that can possibly be gathered are around you. A lot of drama has been started (from what i've seen) by assumptions.
Same goes for me what everyone else who's posted. Have a problem with me or what i said? My PMs are open, i'm on MSN/AIM/Yahoo.
(Yes i'm not typing much but that's cuz i can't word things right -and- i'm half-asleep =.=)

Would it make everyone feel better if I just gave away all my profits from this God damn event that I wish I never even participated in anymore? I REALLY don't give a ******** abut the gold, I just like coloring and organizing. I try to be nice, I try to make everyone happy (including the person who asked for the God damn lion in the front banner), but people still freak out in the end. Holy s**t.

Kaoru, I'm not asking nor demanding anything of the sort, keep the gold, I don't care about that. What I'm talking about has a much deeper meaning than that one act alone. The point I wanted to get across (to old and new alike, I'm not pointing a finger to you alone, but to all of us) is that no matter how much you justify your reasons, or no matter how much good the action would of done and how many people it would make happy, in the end it boils down to the same thing (and yes, even I will agree the gold would of made people happy, whether they knew where it came from or not, but still...): A rule gets broken and pushed aside.
Other people see this, ESPECIALLY the new members (but it pertains to the old as well) and they start to think that if so and so can come up wtih cute pretty reasons, then maybe I can too....soon you have alot of mass chaos and your rules go out the window...ok, maybe not usually so quickly, but in this shop, it seems people are walking on eggshells and any action anyone makes gets put under a magnifiying glass and grossly manipulated till all hell flies out the window. Hence the comment "if the old break rules then the new can too."
When we join ANY shop, we all have the honor and responsibility (whether we joined 3 years ago, or durning this last event) to follow and obey the rules...to uphold the honor of the shop that it rightly deserves. Doesn't matter if the rules have been made 3 years ago or 3 months ago, every rule has a reason and place. The most honoroable thing would of been to not accept the deal, no matter if in the end it made alot of people happy, but becaus it has repercussions of the fact that people will see that rule breaking is okay and accepted. It's no wonder newbies get so mad at us when we get after them for breaking something that others have blatantly done in the past. We don't know how many people are lurking in the shop...we dont know how many SEE the actions that we figure aren't worth much thought, and we don't KNOW how it affects those that come in later until, once more all hell breaks lose and new gets pitted against old.
Again, my point is this: We have a duty to accept and obey the rules, regardless. It is our duty to do so. As current members, we need to set a better example to those who are lurking AND to those coming in. If we start changing our attitude, being more friendly, respectful and honorable to each other (who are already here}, and to those coming in later, we wouldn't even have half the problems this shop currently has.

Oh yes, I agree, however, it didn't get pushed aside. The shop owner came to me and asked me about it because apparently, she got a lot of messages (no surprise there). Did that ever happen when the other colorists were doing bribes when it was ALWAYS against the rules? No.
For my "breaking of the rules," SHE was the one who made suggestions on what I could do to fix it. Because people jumped the gun before I could even explain my doing to the shop owner, I couldn't follow through with the plan. So instead, she was suggesting a pet trade or something.
And for those who think the shop owner is a "gold monger," I offered to give her ALL of the funds from this "bribe." However, she turned it down and suggested that I should use the gold towards the anniversary event; doing a raffle for tickets or a game. All for you people.
A while back, I was the one who mentioned something about bribes being done and she didn't have a clue that colorists were doing them. She told me that she never said that bribes were allowed and no one ever came to her and asked about doing them. In worrying about the rules so much, there are rules when it comes to the percentage of gold a colorists gets when coloring. In that percentage, some of it is given to the shop owner because she is the shop owner, whether some of you like it or not. Well, in doing the bribes, the shop owner wasn't getting her portion of the funds, which isn't fair to her. She spent her own gold and dedicated her time in creating the shop, she deserves her fair share. So that can be considered breaking the rules as well as doing something behind the shop owner's back.
And still, once she knew about them, people continued to do them until we formed a new guild and created a rule (which was recent). She didn't want to make anyone angry or upset by messaging them about it either, so they easily got away with it (there are some other reasons too, but I won't get into it).
It's sad how often people just walk all over her. She's too nice and people take advantage of that. The same thing just happened to me, but I don't give a damn about what anyone thinks of me in here anymore. If they are offended because I'm not giving them "what they like best out of everything," too bad. It's not about their feelings anymore, it's about my a** because apparently, it's the only one that gets punished so it seems.

Ok, after some thinking I've managed to come up with some ways that I think would help the shop get back on it's feet and be the way that it used to be.
A. Stabilization of the staff bond.
(1.) First and foremost, this whole pitting thats going on between the staff members needs to come to an end. I understand that not everyone can be friends but they can at least be friendly associates. Now in order to get this shop the way it needs to me we have to fix the heart which is the staff. The staff should resemble a family. A tightly woven unit that is practically impenetrable. Yes, you have the casual argument but not so much where the heart of this shop is struggling to breath. If you must since it seems that someone feels their is no set pay, the owner and the staff need to go into the staff section and talk about what the pay should be. Once all have come up with an agreement make the official list and post it up in it's own one page thread.
(2.) If you can see that the shop owner is too nice for her own good and feel that people will walk all over her you need to designate a thread manager/punisher. Yes we had one in the past but ultimately she had no say. That has to change. This person must have the power to do as he or she sees fit. So if that means that someone is grey-listed then so be it. However, the length of time one spends there should be discussed between the thread manager/punisher, rest of staff and shop owner based on said persons crime. Also, you need to have a strike system. Meaning first offense you are given a warning. Second offense you are grey-listed and third offense your on the black list. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
(3.) In the staff forum of the guild as well as the main forum of the guild you need to have a thread of rules for the staff to follow as far a coloring, customs, breedings, giftings and things of that nature. You all need to come up with punishments to be dealt out if they break set rules. My suggestion for staff is the two strike system. Two strikes for them because of their status. They should know better, thus you need to be hard on them. First offense puts them on probation. The time of their probation can depend on said offense. Please make the minimum time at least two months. Second offense equal demotion from staff. Basically they're fired and will have to do a hell of a lot to prove themselves worthy at a second shot of being a staff member.
(4.) You need to acquire your self an issues associate. This will be someone who reads PM's sent to the mule by people in the thread who are having problems with someone or something and bring it to the attention of the thread manager/punisher. A lot of the problems don't get addressed fast enough and thus things escalate into something worse. So this person must log on the mule once everyday to check the mail and make sure that everything is fine or being addressed with a satisfactory time frame. I'm sure this will make plenty of people happy.
(5.) Like they're are rules within the shops thread, there should also be rules made for the guild that must be abide by too. I haven't seen much trouble happen within the guild but I think this is a necessary precaution to take to make sure it stays that way.
B. Clarity of the Shops Thread
(1.) You need to separate all the rules so that they're less chance of confusion. So here are the categories that I think should and could be used:
Main Rules for Thread* Rules For Flat sale Rules for Customs Rules for Breeding Rules for RPing
* There in all honesty should be more than seven rules. I mean seven rules just looks pathetic and doesn't make you look like you actually care about how smoothly the shop runs. Also include the customers in rule making. Have them throw out their ideas, tweak and fine tune them as you must and then make them the law. Involving the regulars in how the shop is run is sure to make them feel like what they say actually matters.
Now I know that many of you think that having said categorizes of rules posted up is just a waste of time but it's not. It makes things a lot more clear to newcomers and shows them what's expected of them.
(2.) Before the shop owner and staff make final decisions about anything, run it by your regulars. Remember, regulars and newcomers both are the blood of the thread and what enables it to thrive and live. Allow them to voice their thoughts and actually take it into consideration. If that means making a separate thread with a poll so people can vote then do it.
Now remember, these are just some suggestions. You don't have to follow them if you don't want to but hey it just may save the thread.

Or even better, we need to have a small group of anonymous rule enforcers on a mule given power to hold up the rules since no one else will. they have the power to give out warnings freely but any decision/punishment must be made via group decision. And they remain anonymous to everyone else not on the mule so that there's no bribery going down and colorists can't be on the mule nor can they know who is.
If this idea is favored I will make the mule for said committee and I will chose who i think will do a satisfactory job.

Not to put a wrench in the rule-enforcer idea or anything, but there really needs to be at the minimum three of those, and they need to both be in agreement and there needs to be an appeals system for that. There is too much past history that leaves to both unintentional and intentional favoritism in PL. We see it in how people communicate with each other alone, and I believe we saw it last week in the outburst that caused all of this.
I sort of feel like we're still seeing a lot of it, even in this discussion. There needs to be a lot of apologies made and forgiveness given and things gotten off of chests, and things need to be said specifically to people. While it's nice that people are trying to resolve issues, the bottom line is that they will not be resolved when there's still a lot of anger, resentment, and things not even buried but left lying around to be picked up at any time. Otherwise, it's not going to matter what is tried, this is going to fall apart because some issues are STILL being skirted around.
A suggestion about the owner: Although she won't sell the lineart, is it possible to have her designate one or two people who can act as thread owners anyhow? Have the lineart on a sort of---lease---basis while there are other thread owners? I don't know much about this situation, but if these opinions are true, then it sounds like she is the type that may prefer to have a background seat as owner? I know I personally love my leadership role in my other shop and dedicate a lot of time to it, but when it came down to "AriyaLauna is owner" for a few short months, I panicked and couldn't do anything. Perhaps she is similar? Would she be willing to take a "backseat" position like this, where she's included in major shop-changing (not necessarily new rules or events or the like, but things like new line art that's not hers or adding PL team members), but once decisions have been made, the thread is mostly run by others? It may or may not already be like this, but having it said and put in writing may be best.
Also, I think using the word "Co-owner" is a LOT more positive than "Punisher" or "Rule Enforcer" or whatever. Those terms just beg for someone to come along and try to push envelopes. It practically shouts "this thread contains and welcomes trolls!" They shouldn't be used. =)
On a side note: Small text because it's dealing with a specific problem and not the thread as a whole. =) If there's any problems you have with me, please say it to my face and don't side-swipe. I prefer blunt and in your face, that's the type of person I am, and it's what I like. I made a mistake, but it had nothing to do with Monkey. I was offended by something I've explained to both the mule and Rhea through PM. Going very quiet on the matter was unfortunately allowing it to get to me before I said something, which was in thread because I was afraid PMing her would cause *more* problems (that has been my past experience). I handled it badly, and there are reasons for it, but I won't make the excuses. I didn't realize the tensions that PL had, I didn't even realize that anyone was around other than the three of us. It was an honest mistake. I hate drama, and honestly it's made me feel terrible the whole week. But please don't make me the fall guy for causing things, the people that came out to cause more trouble hardly even addressed the issue at hand, it was obvious they were just looking to jump. I didn't know that. I didn't know PL had so many issues, and I'm sorry I lit the fuse. At least one person who has been extremely accusatory about the whole thing has really hurt my feelings because this person should know better about me. I'm not a horrible person. I'm not a troll. Most of the time I don't jump like that, and I'm trying really, really hard to be contribute positively to PL and am using the Anniversary event as a jumping point because every. Other. Time. I've tried to get involved since I had to go on my first shop hiatus at the beginning of 2007 I've been almost entirely ignored, except by one person. Please, please don't point fingers at me for causing something I didn't actually contribute to except for that one comment and please don't push me under the rug or settle in your mind that I'm "in" this clique or "out" of that one. I don't do cliques, and I don't do drama. I was just--having a what's generally a really rare moment for me. I'm sorry about it and I'll be more aware and careful.
The thing is, in a thread where there's already a lot of tension, others WILL pick up on the tension unconsciously if they don't recognize consciously that it's there, and even if it's rare for them to lash out they will. Even if they're 20 or 30 or whatever, they will pick up on the level others have and react in a like manner. (And, I think, in a way, it's even more dangerous for those that don't KNOW about it because they're not aware to be on the watch for it.) That is why things need to be said and addressed personally.
In band, we had a quote: "A band is only as good as its worst member." And so we were expected to help and support one another. Perhaps what we need to do what we can to face these issues head on and fix them, then adopt a code of unity and edification: If one seems to be suffering, whether it's to say something harmful or being the end butt of something harmful, they need to be addressed with *concern* with the situation being *objectively* pointed out to them. An offer to *help* needs to be given, and a chance to make amends given as well. If all we do is have discussions to make it harder for people to rag on others, then all we're doing is taking all these bad feelings and stuffing them into a bigger bomb for something to make it go off.
PL has gone beyond rule breaking and rule enforcement being necessary. There really needs to be a means of fixing all the hurt that is floating around. There's way too much of it, and ignoring it for the sake of being objective and uniform isn't going to help until the worst of it has been resolved and stopped.

[PL]Tiaret Some of you know that PL has had more than it's fair share of drama. And last night, it reared up again. Something needs to be done about this. In the past, it has been dealt with, but has not completely gone away.
People are frustrated with the management. The owner, while she may be a wonderful person to talk to, has absolutely no sense on how to properly run the shop. Which can be testified by people who have witnessed this over the three years the shop has been up and running. Some outstanding points that have been forefront in many of their minds are as follows:
She does nothing for the shop and cannot make a proper decision for the shop. She would rather drag the whole shop down just for her to fill her pockets to overflowing with gold and expensive items that she surely does not need or truly wants other than for a symbol of status.
O.o hey now, i totally do not drag the shop down, i let colorists have alot of liberty with things they want to make or change in the shop, i listen to people suggestions and get pms about alot of the drama. I use all my gold to of course horde items O.o....yeah i dunno O.o i like equiping things...sometimes several times a day but that is because i do not buy pets cuz i do not have time to rp them so the ones i do have i give the rights away. I take 30% of all sales (soon will be 20) which mostly gets put away for items which i would gladly sell for some more lineart for the shop (before i cut myself off from buying lineart this is where all my gold went) O.o i do not care about the status my horde gives me O.o i just like equiping it and this shop and my others are the only reason i have been on gaia since 03...tho really my shop career first started early 04
Many of the problems of Pride Lands could have been properly dealt with if the owner had a backbone. If she could have made the hard decisions to do something about some of the problems in the shop, maybe all of the recurring anger from the colorists (and customers) could be avoided. Instead, she procured someone who offered to act as a punisher on her behalf. But because of conflicts (true or not) it did not end well.
I do deal with alot of questions and drama that is pmed to me or said to me on msn O.o i always let people know they can pm me whenever or message me ... XD tho my chatting often slows my coloring progress. I talk to people to solve things but that doesnt mean everything is POOF solved, everyone is differnt and people often blow things out of proportion in the thread or pms, most of this should be solved on their own O.o just cuz you start drama in the thread doesn't mean someone should rush in and make you behave O.o this is not a daycare and you should all beable to work things out in a nice manner on your own >.> and people really shouldnt make nasty faces at one another or make snide remarks O.o i mean seriously I see that happen far to often... and the whining *pulls out a tiny violin* this is all stuff people should KNOW not to do O.o if you want me to come in and start scolding more i guess i could but none of that gets to the point where it hurts someone alot and need severe punishment
In addition to this 'punisher', another person offered to act in the owner's stead while she was away so much due to real life, which is quite understandable. All the person wanted to do was to make Pride Lands better. But unable to do much without the owner's consent because of the seriousness of some of the problems, that person quit as well.
Along with the inablity to deal with the harsh problems that occured in the shop, there does not seem to be any set pay. No where is there to be found a post or thread that lists every rule of the shop. There is no rules that state how much a colorist gets from such a transaction. The only rules that seem to show up anywhere are the basic breeding, custom, and general rules. How is a shop supposed to stay afloat without some basic, concrete rules everyone knows and can run by without having to ask the owner?
colorists have gotten 70% (custom/auction ect...) since september 2 years ago O.o and breedings have always been 100% colorist and 5k for each flat, almost all the colorists have me on messenger anyways this should not ever be a problem
The shop is complete chaos due to the owner letting anyone color. A newer regular to Pride Lands, from the information that has been gathered, did not apply to become a colorist, suddenly, quite out of the blue, has colored customs for herself and was able to hold her own event. Why? Does Pride Lands not have enough colorists on hand? Sure they are not all 'active' in the shop, but does that give anyone the right to suddenly color lions, not only for the shop to sell for a profit, but FOR THEMSELVES?
yes i let people that ask sometimes color, infact tudora and doodle started this way, and eventually they sometimes become colorists, its nice to let someone have a chance to color sometimes O.o would you be a jerk and be like no O.o you suck go away and color something else? umm no O.o ive seen alot of colorist since i have started on gaia go from being crappy (yeah....i started there too >.> it was baaaad) to being better then i am now *waves fist in the air....* cryness and yes colorists are usually allowed to color themselves something on occasion even guests if they ask first
Older regulars are leaving Pride Lands because of the lack of rules and following through of the rules. Many are frustrated by the fact that 'n00bs' come in and do not read or have any maturity. If they do not read the rules, they should not win anything. This is mostly in reference to the anniversary flatsale. People were not posting the forms for the cubs and yet were still winning the cubs. Either the rules need to be more specific, or a post should have been made later to clarify. Not to mention there should have been at least two staff members on for that event, one to figure out who won and another to keep the crowd calm. And when people do not act mature, it is difficult to reason with them and difficult to even know if one has gotten their point across when the party they are talking to does not answer in a manner that can be deciphered as serious, joking, or sarcastic.
Perhaps, a few people could have access to the mule and moderate arguments between the staff and customers. They would remain unnamed for privacy and protection. This is merely a suggestion seeing as how the owner does not want to deal with the usual problems that come with a shop.
this has been suggested through messenger to me but O.o seeing it posted by some unknown person on the shops mule makes me think maybe not....we will see but i think this would still result in favoritizm and things would not do so well as you would think
Please know this is not just one person's view on the situation, but many. And I ask to remain anonymous. Even if you happen to figure out who I am, do not call me out or post my name. I am only posting this because I feel everyone has a right to know what is happening behind the scenes and to know how many people feel and help to come to a decision we can all live with to make Pride Lands a better shop.
I also ask that people not get mad or point fingers. This is posted to point out problems that need to be remedied, not to be cruel to one another.
