This notice is to certify that Tabitha Whind is granted access to Hogsmeade from ten o'clock, AM, to six o'clock, PM, by order of the Ministry of Magic.
Tabitha shivered lightly as she read these words, and stashed the notice into her pocket. It all just seemed so strange to be confronting a past she thought she had left behind when she transferred to Hogwarts, almost like this Tabitha wasn’t allowed to know of her former life in Marshgrays. She clung to her jacket for warmth and comfort, and stepped into the small town, grey eyes wandering about for the person she was supposed to meet here. All she could see on this cold day was a dark-robed figure, staring absently at a poster in a shop window, a parcel under his arm. Tabitha blinked. This must be the person she was to meet; who else was on the street at this time? She approached him, not making a sound until she was right behind him. She glanced up at him, and then frowned. This couldn’t be the person she was to meet; he couldn’t be more than sixteen, and by the looks of it, he was quite beat up. Lank black hair fell in his face, nearly hiding one grey and one brown eye, and he had a strange, nearly hungered look, like a predator. Immediately, she was reminded of a wolf prowling about after weak prey. “Excuse me,” she said quietly, “But I’m waiting for someone, have you---“ Before she could finish her sentence, however, the boy had jumped, dropping his parcel, fumbling with the collar of his robe to bring it up against his face. Hastily, he seized the parcel, a few books tumbling out of it, eyes meeting with Tabitha’s for a moment, both surprise and anger showing plainly. Without a word, he turned in the opposite direction, bolting down the street with a speed surprising and unexpected. “Wait! You dropped your books!” called Tabitha, seizing the two that had fallen out, running after him. As she turned the corner, however, he was already gone. “How strange…” she said to no one in particular, looking down at the books he had dropped. One was “Advanced French,” and the other was “Mysteries of the Werewolf.” “What an odd person,” she said absently, placing the books in her bag. As she was about to continue after him, someone shouted at her from behind. “Tabitha! Tabitha Whind, is it?” they called. She turned, blinking. Behind her were two people, one female and one male, both adults. “You were told to meet us, are we correct?” “Yeah,” she said, walking over. “I am Tabitha Whind; nice to meet you---?” “Winifred Gaot,” the woman said pleasantly. She was a short witch, about the same height as Tabitha, with wispy red hair and bright blue eyes. “I was sent by the ministry to get some answers about the Marshgrays tragedy.” “And I am Thomas Autumn,” the main said, offering a hand. “A reporter for the Daily Prophet. I’ve been researching Marshgrays for an article, and Winifred invited me to tag along. Perhaps you know my daughter, Clarissa Autumn?” Tabitha blinked; had she ever seen Orville Autumn, she would have immediately doubted that the two were twins, or even related. Thomas was tall and slender, with greying, light brown hair and dark, aqua eyes; almost the opposite of his portly twin. “Yes, I know her from school. We don’t talk that much, though,” Tabitha said with a smile and a shrug. “In any case, shall we start this interview?” “We shall, but first I think we should get out of the street. Shall we be off to Honeydukes? Seeing as no other student is permitted to be here at this time, it should be a lot less crowded,” suggested Winifred. “Fine with me,” Tabitha said cheerily, and the three set out. Before long, they were seated at a table near the window in the shop, Thomas hastily scribbling upon a notepad. “All right, Tabitha. First off, we would like to get the basics down. Your name is Tabitha Ellen Whind, fifteen, and you formerly attended the now-closed Marshgrays. Correct?” “Right,” Tabitha nodded. “Okay,” Winifred said. “Now, do you know the names of the people killed?” “I do; it was Alana Drustan, Alexandra Brion, and Crete van Chalaice, all within three weeks… right?” “Yes, that’s correct. Now, is there anything about the murders that you know of?” Tabitha thought about it. “Well, if I remember correctly, they were all Pureblooded wizards and witches, right?” “Yes, that’s also correct. Now Tabitha, we believe that whoever killed those three was a Muggle-born, possibly a student. Now, we usually wouldn’t suspect anyone outright but…” she hesitated. “The day before you transferred to Hogwarts, there were two murders in London… both Purebloods.” Tabitha’s eyes widened, staring at Winifred. “You… you don’t suspect…” “Is it not true that you were staying with your aunt in London, prior to setting off for Hogwarts?” “For one day!” Tabitha panicked. “I was there for a single day, not even that! I just stayed the night after my flight. You can’t possibly think---“ “Tabitha, right now you’re our number one suspect in the case of the Pure-Blood Killer.” Tabby sat there, eyes wide, mouth somewhat open in shock. Her eyes started to water, tears trickling down her cheeks. “How… how could you think for a second that I killed those people?!” she exploded, cheerful nature abolished for the moment. Her face was red, tears falling like rain. “All of those people…. Alana… Alexandra… Crete… they were my FRIENDS! Why would I kill my FRIENDS? What motive would I have?” “Miss Whind…” “No!” she cried. “No, I can’t just accept that you think I did it, because I didn’t! I’m completely innocent!” “I think this interview has rightly collapsed,” Thomas said grimly, putting away the notepad and quill. “I suggest you have Miss Whind go back to the castle for the time being.” “Right,” Winifred agreed, looking over at the irate Tabitha. “Please return to Hogwarts until further notice.” Tabitha stared at Winifred, still crying uncontrollably, and stood up, running out the door, sobbing as she ran all the way back to the castle.

Adara caught from the corner of her eye the bushes rustling slightly. Tears were streaming down her face and Hailee started backing away from her like she was going to pull out a knife right then and there and stab her. It's not like that, she told herself trying to make herself feel better, I'm not that kind of person. Addy thought that the headmistress at her old school might have told the rest about the two missing persons who just left with no reason, but she had kept the secret. Adara just realized the mistake she made, she just confessed to Hailee that she commited a crime and now Hails could easily go back to Beaux Batons and rat her out to EVERYONE else. She also noticed she got a few strange looks from others walking by, for she had shouted her confession outloud. "Hales, do not tell anyone. What good is this information going to do for everyone else at that school. It'll just bring about hatred that is not needed right now, please!" she begged in a whisper and she walked toward her. Hales was going to blag and there's nothing she could do about it.

Kia had just walked out of the shop when she saw Addy. Addy looked as though she had been crying. Her eyes were all red and puffy. She looked really, really upset about something. Kia slowly walked up to her but as she got closer, Nathan pushed her out of the way and dragged her into the bushes. "Nathan what the heck is going on?" she asked him crossly. She wanted to go comfort her friend and he was preventing her from doing that such thing. Maybe this boyfriend thing wasn't such a good idea. She wanted to be able to hang out with her friends not be attatched to Nathan by the hip. She wasn't an item. She didn't belong to him. Just the thought of her being an item to him made her livid. She wanted to go and she wanted to go now!

"Kia, I am only trying to protect you. That Adara girl is a murderer. She killed her boyfriend back when she was at Beaubatons. I don't want you hanging out with her. She is very dangerous." He didn't know why she was being so rude. He was only trying to protect her from that evil demon girl who killed her boyfriend. Who would do anything like that? He really didn't want kia learning from this girl. She could teach Kia to do horrible things. He was doing this for kia's own good. He wanted what was best for her. He didn't want anything bad to happen to anyone that he loved. Especially Kia. This adara girl was just bad news. He had had a bad feeling about her from the start.

After Hailee tripped away from her, Adara walked back over to where Kia was finished her shopping. Addy hid her face from Kiandra and Nathan because she didn't want them to see that she was crying, because that would bring about questions. And questions...were not what she needed right then. Adara said loudly, "All done? Okay. Let's go back to Hogwarts." without even looking at them to see what they wanted to do. She kept a fast pace and hoped that her friends were following. "And I'm REALLY sorry if we get into trouble when we get back!"

Kiandra ran to catch up with Addy because what she needed right now was to talk with her friend. Right now she couldn't really care less about whether Nathan had gotten in trouble or not. She didn't want to be anywere near him right now. He was being totally unreasonable. What a prat. He is just jealous that I have a new friend she thought to herself. He wanted her all to himself. When Kia had caught up to Addy she told her what Nathan had said about her.
