I agree with looking at a map. Or even buying one.
I've lived in San Diego my entire life and I still can't navigate downtown.
I usually take the trolley to comic-con, I live out by the end of the orange line, but since last year I got a job in Little Italy, and they give me a 5-star parking permit every month. ^^ So I only have to take the Trolley from the American Plaza transfer station instead of from La Mesa, That will save me a good hour or so every day.
Plus, I work at a school, and one of the days we are taking the kids! So I'm getting paid to go to con on one of the days!

That's lucky. I may get to work at a booth for a little bit of time. Last year a friend and I put in some time at the Pokemon booth teaching people how to play the new figure game, and sounds like we have the opportunity to do it again.

Whee for double posting, but more things have occured to me, and I though it best to write them down before I forgot.
-As far as planning ahead or figuring out your day: the schedule gets posted on the official website several days in advance, there is a complete copy also in your con-book, not unlike a TV Guide with both written and grid-block listings to aid your scheduling. In addition, though, each day there is a daily newletter of sorts that can be found all around, but I know at least in front of nearly every entrance to the sales floor. They sometimes highlight things of interest for the day as well. And don't forget to grab an anime guide from the anime rooms if you care to check anything out. They give descriptions of each show, as well as a schedule.
-Some sites allow you to order things online and pick them up at con. You may have to print a confirmation email with a barcode or something on them, but some booths have separate lines for people picking up preorders versus buying on site, and at the very least, you can guarantee that they won't be sold out. Plus, for me at least, it gives me that much more cash on hand that I won't be loosing on stuff I knew I was buying anyways.
-That awesome elvevator that goes all diagonal? Doesn't get you as many places as you'd hope. XD

Thought of something else:
-The hallways that lead to the rooms with the panels upstairs have been guarded by Elite the last year or so, and they are quite adamant about letting you go only one way down the hall. Basically, if you haven't been there before, the room all have doors on either side, and it's gotten so crowded and messy with people waiting outside both sets of doors, that they set it up so alternating hallways are each one-way streets. So keep that in mind when trying to zip from panel to panel, or if you have to go to the bathroom while waiting in line. Even if the bathroom is 10 feet from the line, they will not let you walk 'up' a 'down' hall, you will need to walk all the way around. I don't know if they'll even be doing this again this year, but keep it in mind.

maybe try walking backwards down a one way hall so it looks like ur going the right, way> LOL
