CLASSES & RANKS

The aim of the Emania rping ‘verse is for you to better your characters and have many great adventures with other players. But how is the best way to make a character stronger?
Well, of course one fights in tournaments and quests in order to increase your stats, but this can only take you so far. While you may be faster and stronger in normal role-playing, unless you get a large increase it does not reflect into your dice-roll game play. Not only that, but if you stay as a ‘newb’ you are limited to use only certain low-level weapons, no matter what your stats.

To get the most out of Emania’s game play, you’ve got to rank up
"So what are the ranks?"

Current ranks:

1)Newb [you start here] ~ default stats = 18
2) Adventurer [rankup when you train in a class eg madge] ~ (see class info for stat rankup. usually +5/+6 and special abilities)
3)Hero ~ [+5]
4)Renound ~ [+8]
5) Master ~ [+10]
6) Legendary ~ [+15]

The better your rank, as you can see, the better your character. Your stats naturally increase, with each level (as does the potential power of your default weapons)
"How do I Rank up?”
One can rank up in a number of ways. Sometimes you may gain a rank after a particularly impressive quest is completed (boss monster destroyed), or when you have a very large amount of stats earnt.
However the two main ways you can rankup are these:
1) Take part in many dice-roll activities [esp quests]
2) Train with the various Instructors scattered around the world of Emania
Your first rank: Newbie to adventurer - cannot be achieved unless you train with an instructor, so you better hop to it! XD

"How do I train with an instructor?
Instructors are rped by mods or player show have asked the mods for permission. They reside in various places in Emania. Once you have trained with an instructor you rank up and have a specific ‘class’ for your character (eg Rouge class)
Your first instructors can all be found in Ash Coast or the surrounding area. Why not have an explore?
Currently you can train as a warrior, rouge, cleric or madge.

However your class is not simply the beginning. As you explore further away from Ash Coast and deeper into Emania, more instructors will become available for you to upgrade your class (eg rouge ninja , clericpaladin, madge necromancer etc). Your character, as he or she gets stronger, will elvove... and their power will gradually increase.

As their power and reputation increases, so does their rank.

Rank and Weapons/Spells.Items:
Rank also effects the type of weapons and items you are allowed to have. The higher your rank and stats, the higher the power of those items and weapons available to you. On a weapon’s description, pay attention to it’s stats and who is allowed to weild it....

STATS

"So what is the point of stats?"

The points of stats is to be able to gve you a visual reprsentation of the development of your character - how strong they are etc, for when you roleplay normally with each other.
plus it's a bit fo fun, as the point is to participate in the Guild-sponsored events in order to earn stats and cool weapons.
At a point in the future, the amount of your characters stats will also lead to influence your shieldinga dn attack bonuses, as well as other nifty additions.
For the timebeing, they're just another layer to the relaism and interest of your rolpalying characters

The eight main elements of stats are as follows:

Quote:
Strength: (physical power - this is how well you can use brute force: a skill those interested in melee combat often like to build)
Defence: (how well you can fend off physical blows. Those with high defence also often benefit in melee combat)
Health/Endurance: (how much damage you take in combat and how long you can last.)
Speed: (how fast your character is - you can do more attacks at once and run about at once. Rouges usually value swiftness)
Evasion: (how well you can dodge attacks -those with high evasion get hit rarely. However you are not impossible to hit.
Accuracy: (how likely you are to hit someone in combat. Those with high accuracy can hit someone with high evasion much easier in combat. But you don’t always hit someone afterall!)
Magical defence: (how well you defend against magic)
Magical Power: (how powerful the magic is you use and how quickly you run out of power)

DICE ROLL SYSTEM

So: in the D&D game it works fairly simply. HP damage is calculated by rolling certain coloured dice. Each colour has a different property (eg yellow is low damage, so has more chance of no hits).
The weapon you use dictates what dice you use. The type of monster dictates what dice it uses. For example, a higher level weapon rolls more impressive dice. A higher level monster rolls more impressive dice.

I’m thinking, to make things easier to understand, we stick with the idea of dice colours - that way there’s a easy reference when you look up what each dice’s properties are.
Also I think at the moment it’s easier to just stick with your classic 6 sided dice.
Of course there’ll be an explination (in a quote) of what each dice does before each game, to remind people.
It’ll be simple once people get used to it-lol

Here's a diagram to make it simpler.
User Image

“So how does this work in the game?” I hear you ask? Well, here’s an example:

You’ve got a level 1 weapon. All level 1 weapons are weak-ish, so they use a mixture of either two yellow dice, or a yellow+ an orange dice.....
Eg

Weapon:[long range weapon] ‘flash pellets’
Type: Long Range
Description: These long range throwing pellets create a small explosion.
Dice to be rolled: roll two YELLOW dice + The STAR dice
Other: If you get a star [even number], the monster misses its next turn.

--->
*You roll the YELLOW and STAR dice. [ie three 6 sided dice.]
*You edit your post onc eyou know what they are. Dice must be rolled in the order the weapon says

-->
I got a YELLOW 5 = one hit
I got a YELLOW 4 = one hit
I got a STAR 6 = star

one + one = two hit
star = action (in this case, the monster misses 1 turn).

-->Remember to take the monster's shielding into account.

imagine the monster i'm fighting has 1 shielding.

--> two hit - 1 (monster sheild) + star = 1 damage to monster's hp + monster misses it's turn

Not only that, but can be argue dthat some of the senient races can be considered monsters (for example, not very many people want to be on the reciving end of a Lolth-worshipping drow!) A list of these can be found in the monster index.

PETS

Pets are always good to have around. Period. There's not much more to it than that.

Pets can be used for several different purposes, each of which could be used in the world of Emania. Classifications are as follows:

Transportation - can get you from one place to another. Horses are generally the best for this.
Companionship - Eveyone can get lonely once in a while, so it's always good to have some simple company. Cats, dogs, and other small animals are best suited for this.
Combat - when times are tough, there's always someone to help you, no matter what. Whether it be to attack the opponent, or to be an aid, healing you, you won't regret having these pets. a wide variety can be used for this.
Farming - Everyone's gotta eat, and who makes all the food? Well, not the pets, but you know what I mean. Cows are good if you ant fresh milk; the same goes for goats. Cows are also great for protein, as well as pigs, chicken, etc. cattle is always good to have, even if they do take up too much space. The roosters are great alarm clocks, too.
Assistance - This is a hazy topic, if you call stealing Ikli from another man's pocket assistance. But some of those pets are good if you can't do something, but they can with ease. They also help if you're hungry or poor. wink

You must be sure to take care of your pet, as well. They need as much food, shelter, and rest as anyone else. Food can be found in the "Shops & Pricings" section. Toys and such, for the smaller pets mainly, would be found in the same place as the pets themselves. And if you're any decent person, shelter is not hard to find, even for the larger animals.

BATTLE

When you encounter a monster or any such adversary, a battle sequence will begin. This is the initiation. during combat, you have options to choose from. Each option grants you the choise of performing a certain task to use during combat. Some are wiser to choose from than others, depending on the situatuion throughout the battle proccess until the end.

Attack: use whatever weapon you choose - thus dictated by whatever dice rolls has it.
Magic: use whatever magic you have or maybe if your physical weapon has special specific magical attack. Works just like the 'attack' - dictated by what the info says about what dice you roll. This aplies for healing magic too.
Skills: using special/racial skills (roll whatever dice it says or do whatever the description on it says)
Guard: gaurding is a limited ability. Roll the star dice to determine whether you successfully gaurd or not.
Item: Use up your go to use an item (on any team member) - discard if it says so. (eg potions are discarded)

When it is your turn, you allowed to go twice, with the exception of using an item, in which case both turns are used up.

There is also the option to flee from the battle. This means that you have the chance, when it is your turn, to run away. In this case, you may have to leave some gold behind, or you lose experiece to rank up. If you must run away, do so, but use it wisely. Sometimes, when fighting certain monsters, you cannot run away. This is most obviously the case with boss monsters. If you are cursed in a way where you can't move, or you are frozen, then you are denied the chance to run away for the time being.

It would be wise to find tactics to perform against certain monsters, and use those against them.

SHEETS & FORMATS

Most of this has been talking, so now you want to participate in the action. You want to help make something; a pet, a weapon, a monster, a new character, an NPC. But how do you do that?

Have no fear, my friend, for they are located here! If you need a quick peak, you can check here, rather than searching through a whole bunch of topics to find how to make a monster.

A last few pointers before you skim through this. If you wish to make any one of these, they must be approved by the Moderaters or the Administrator. If they are approved, they will NOT go here. They will be placed in their proper places, whichever topic it may be.

TRAPS & SWITCHES

Throughout the world, traps and swithes can be found. Most of these are harmful, but some may be beneficial. You can find these mostly in dungeons, secret passages, certain rooms of places, etc.

All traps are harmful, unfortunately. Most traps effect the surroundings, causing you harm, like say a trap will spring an axe to chop off your head. Hopefully you're fast enough to dodge it.

Switches can be both harmful and beneficial, and both effecting surroundings and your emmediate person. Switches are found on the ground, the walls, on ceilings(o_0), and pretty much anywhere else there can be a switch.

When you come upon a trap, you must roll a star die. If you roll a star, you escape the trap. Otherwise, you are effected by the trap.

When you come upon a switch, you roll a normal 6-sided die. Whatever the number's description says, that is what happens. There is no way to avoid anything, so be warned.

A list of 20 possible possibilities are listed below. There may be more, so pay attention

Quote:
Trap/Switch Possibilities
1. Blind
2. Poison
3. Freeze
4. -5 hp
5. -10 hp

TRANSLATORS

Some races in Emania, like in real life, speak different languages. Because of this, you might be confuzed as to what they are saying. Because of this, I have taken the liberty of finding a few translators for your convenience.

These translators do not mean you can go around understand everything everyone says, without any previous knowledge. That is considered part of godmoding, I think. So, though your character may not know the Elven tongue, it's always nice to know what exactly they are saying.

RECREATION

Emania is not all ranking up and getting decent stats. There are "sidelines" to it all. Recreation is something that we all need, including our very own characters. Sports, side quests, and games are all included in this section.

SPORTS
Quote:
Portal
A three-team game, with three players on each team. The objective is to score 30 points first. Depeding on where you hit the ball into the goal, you can score 1, 3, or 5 points. Details on the main forum.

Tlachtli
A team game, ranging from 1-1, to 10-10 players. The object of the game is to score 15 points, using a ball and getting into the hoop. You are not allowed to use hands, however. Only the goalie may use hands. Details on the main forum.

SIDE QUESTS
Quote:
Ikli-upgrade
At each rank, there is the chance to recieve and upgrade as to how much Ikli you can carry. You start with 200 Ikli, and as you rank up, not only do you automatically upgrade, you can upgrade a second time. Details on the main forum

Argor's Beast Hunt
Free to all Emanians, here you may hunt in or on the edge of Galgorra forest to attempt to catch and/or kill an animal or monster of some sort. You are allowed to do whatever you want with your catch. Details on main forum.

GAMES
Quote:
Lucky Cups
A two person game, where one has four cups, one with the ball. After flipping the cups around several times, the player is asked to determine which cup has the ball located in it. However, before playing, you must place down at least five Ikli, so be warned.

*NOTE* This is not a complete list. Rather, it is a list in the making. As more games and quests are discovored, they will be added to this list. Be sure to check in once in a while, to see what is available.

[thank you, DT. 3nodding ]

STORAGE

As you know, and if not, it's only common sense, you can only carry so much. Whether it's armor, accessories, items, or Ikli. So, what happens when you an't collect any more Ikli, or your inventory is completely full?

No worries! When you sign up to Emania's roleplaying fun, either you or a crew member will create an "account" for you. Here is where extra money and collected items will go. Just remember to place these items IN your account. Crew members will not do this for you. If inactivity appears, and in circumstaces where there should not be, A crew member, or perhaps a kind fellow Emanian, will notify you via PM. If ignnored, you will probably be PMed by the Admin and possibly temporarily banned.

Now wait a second. Sounds too good to be true right? Well, of course it is! There is a limit to this. A total of 50 Items is allowed and/or 50,000 Ikli, or 50K, is allowed. This does not mean 50 potions take up the entire space. If you have 50 potions, only 5 "slots" will be taken up. Baswed on this information, you can conclude some items don't take up a whole hell of a lot of space. Potions of any kind take 10 to a slot. accesories of the same kind take up 5 to a slot -this is generally rare- and armors, weapons, and other larger items take up only one slot each.

A sub forum specifically for "accounts" will be made. A topic will be made for each Emanian. In this topic, the first post will be the history record, which can be refreshed each month. REMEMBER TO UPDATE THIS WHEN NECCESSARY! The second post will be for Items only. A mini history of what is placed there will be in a quote. Again, remember to update this. A third post for Ikli is placed, lastly.

I must say this again, for reminder, sinse this point is Vital. UPDATE YOUR ACCOUNT DAILY WHEN REQUIRED!
