I guess that more proves that even if Aeris was alive during the Lifestream scene, Tifa would still be the only one able to help Cloud.

Wait, nevermind, it says she perceived that he had lost sight of his true self, not that she gave up on him. Yeah, leave it to me to skew the info. xd

I think that we can't keep going into 'ifs and buts', however, Aeris probably, if she was alive, would have continued her search for the real Cloud. It's not only important for Cloud to regain himself, but it's important for her to discover the truth.
I still don't mind that quote Twin. XP Sure, the translation seems slightly off, but it doesn't really contradict anything. It's just emphasizing that she's not doing all of this just for Cloud, or that Cloud's a main factor. I doubt it's saying, "She cared about everyone else and Cloud was on the bottom of the list." It's just making sure the reader knows that she knew how important protecting her was to Cloud, and even then, her mission was more important.

Aeris is the perfect character, and therefore EVERYONE in the game must adore her as well as those who play the game. Those who like Cloti are the spawn of the devil, and Tifa clearly loves Zack, visa versa. Also, since Aeris is the perfect angel of all that is FF, she must then get the person she truly loves which is Cloud. Aeris mimicks Zack, sees Zack in Cloud, and doesn't know who the real Cloud is. But because Aeris is holy and a goddess, she was still able to see Cloud's true feelings, and understand him more than Tifa who has known him her entire life.
Not to mention that because Tifa was the one to put Cloud's memory together, it doesn't mean anything. Why? Because if Aeris was alive she would've been able to help Cloud because "she could sense the real him even though she hadn't known him for long. That's how amazingly super special awesome she is!"
Aeris cannot act friendly to Cloud without it being romantic, because Aeris deserves the best because she is so sweet and kind and did I mention PERFECT?!
She gets every guy she sees, especially when she deserves the hottest guy ever who is CLEARLY CLOUD, LOLOL!!!
[/sarcasm on this whole paragraph or so. -bitter-]

"I have in my hands the means, and in my heart, the will." I know how you feel. My friends eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when I claimed my newfound enlightenment of Aeris' character.
I used to hate her--- a lot. I had a lot of in depth rants about why she was a bad person. rofl
Those essays are proof to the flaws in her character, but after reading Maiden/Ultimania/playing CC, I can't really blame her.

Yeah, especially after CC, it really illustrates how genuine her character was. In the original game, she's mysterious and you really don't know that much about her except her apparent flaws. She is so much more human if you connect CC with the game. Aeris has just been searching for her long lost love and though she claims to be over him, is actually heartbroken.

I still feel CC elaborates rather than illustrates. By that I mean I think we knew this about her character all along, but CC makes it much easier to visualise if you are a visual person.

Aeris' character is a bit more mature and outgoing in FFVII, but it's cute. Almost as if the impact Zack had on her helped her personality develop. Zack has that affect on people, it just goes nut with Cloud. XD

Well, you can't really get anything out of Aeris' character in AC except her motherly side. xd
That's a good point you make Balthea. It just shows that Aeris continues to carry Zack with her, through how she acts. Like the date when Cloud fell from the sky. biggrin How cute.

As much as I like Zerith, I'm still a Clorith. >_> Not rabid. Promise. I got my shots. See the tags? *Jingles tags* ^-^
Anyway, I like the connections and all, but I honestly don't think it's very 'romantic', or 'true-love'. If you think about it, we all rub off on our friends and vice-versa. The same can be said for couples. Zack rubbed off on her, and she couldn't prevent it. It's not like she's acting similar to him of her own free-will.
Heh. How many men fell through her roof? 2. Could've sworn it was a lot more. Kind of makes me want to make a parody of every FFVII man falling through her roof. XDD
Ahem. Anyway. Yeah, the rubbing off thing is all I wanted to say. That and don't speak badly about Cloriths... please... it hurts me. cry

I can't agree, but I respect your opinion. I find Zeris to be very romantic. =] It's a tragic love story, really. I never realized that Zack and Aeris actually knew one another for longer than they make it seem. Also, I think it's just heartbreaking that Aeris says she'll wear pink on their next meeting and that she'll be waiting for Zack... Towards the end of CC Zack says he HAS to go back to Midgar, even though it's swarming with people out to kill him. Aeris is there, wearing pink, and waiting for him. Waiting for four long years for him to return. Imagining how happy she would be to see Zack back at her church after so long... breaks my heart because it never happens. crying I'm saying that it's more than just rubbing off on someone when you do special things for them and moreover risk your life for them. =] And I find that romantic however sad.

When you put it that way, yes, it's very romantic, but I see it slightly differently. ^^; Psht. How rude. You're no traitor. You're just doing what you like. Nothing traitorous about it. It's not like FF_G was the king/emperor of the entire forum and you pledged your alliegance and loyalty to him. Seriously, that's just plain mean. I believe that Zerith was canon in the PAST, and not the future. Sure, I suppose there's enough proof it -could- be canon in the future and in death's embrace, however... Yeah... I'm not going to say anymore. Don't really wanna start an argument. Just my opinion, people. But seriously, don't bad-mouth Cloriths. If you have to, then don't generalize it.

The Cloti want to murder anyone who is Clerith, and the Clerith want to murder the Cloti. Seriously, the people in those Forums act like the world revolves around their pairing.
I feel bad for you for trying to post in both and be nice. And since you were trying to be fair to both sides you got called a traitor.
