Anna stood as well, brushing her skirt into order. "Well I'm not exactly alone. I have a puppy and Gam." She smiled up at Lanaki, "date two? Iwould like that very much." She paused rather awkwardly. "You have my number?"

Why did the end of the date feel more awkward?

((I'm so sorry this has taken so long. D: Finals and you know how that goes.))

So she had a little baggage with her. Eh, no problem. Trelanz isn't exactly my kid really... but he could certainly use the entertainment. May save me from having to buy anymore ceiling fans.

"Heh, no worries about a number. You'll hear from me." He grinned down to her. "Now then, would you care for a ride? I noticed you pulled up in a taxi, and it wouldn't be very polite of me to not offer you a ride." He asked politely as he pulled his keys out from his back pocket.

Annabelle wouldn't wish her turkey boy on her worst enemy let alone Lanaki's son, but perhaps the little cannibal could be bribed to behave. She would have to consider it. "Ceiling fans? Do I want to ask?" she inquired as she scooped up her little bag.

"A ride would be great. I haven't got around to buying a car yet." And by yet she meant in the last five years, Anna could be the queen of procrastination if she set her mind to it. She looked out the window and wondered which vehicle was his. He looked like a fast car kind of guy to her...

((I most certainly do...my last one is tomorrow))

Lanaki paused as he neared the door and looked back at her. "I have a lot to learn about you if you can read my thoughts." He said with a wink and opened the door for her.

"Heh, understood. Plus the public transportation isn't too bad here. Fairly reasonable and accommodating. I was rather surprised when I moved here." He looked out to the parking lot and nodded towards the yellow Jeep Wrangler. "The yellow one's mine. It's already unlocked." He smiled seeing as the vehicle was completely door less; no need for locks.

((Understood.

And, I couldn't help myself. XD Lanaki was thinking about the ceiling fan in my previous post so I had to make him say something. lol It can be ignored in future RP, unless she really can read minds. ninja XD Oh, and I can't wait to see Gam and Trelanz together. They are going to be so much fun to RP. haha))

((oops, I definately thought he said it out loud))

Annabelle laughed, "I wish I could read people's thoughts." She paused for a moment and actually thought about it, "or perhaps not. I have been on my best behaviour today, normally I don't think I'd want to know what people were thinking about me. I get the feeling it might involve a lot of swear words." She giggled.

Ooo it was a real Jeep! The kind with no doors! Not the SUV kind that just pretended to be Jeeps. She grinned, "I worked as a waitress my first year and a half. Transit is surprisingly good considering how small this place is and you meet so many interesting people on the bus."

Lanaki headed towards the Jeep.

"I'm sure folks are always cursing about you. I know the phrase, 'damn girl you're fine~' crossed my mind a few times in different perspectives." He ran a hand through his hair as it quickly dawned on him that this wasn't just some other girl on the street, nor one of his good friends. "I'm sorry, that was rather rude of me." He apologized as he quickly turned back around and cracked a week smile.

'Damnit! This is why you fail at dating. You're way to damn open about everything before you think it through.' Lanaki fumed at himself.

Anna stared at him blankly for a moment and then burst out laughing. "Thanks...I think," she managed to get out between chuckles as she followed him outside. At least he was comfortable with her? "But seriously, I can be aggravating. Hopefully you'll be around long enough to discover it yourself." She blushed...too bold?

She climbed up into the passengers seat and buckled up.

Well, he made her laugh. That had to be accountable for something. Though he had to admit, she was intriguing.

"Heh, well, that goes for the both of us." Turning the key in the ignition, he threw the Wrangler in reverse and pulled out of the gravel parking lot and onto the street.

"But tell me, if just a little bit, as I don't want to know everything as that just spoils the surprise-" He paused, choosing his words. "in five words or less, what is it that makes people so irritated with you? I would wager it more on jealousy, but that may be placing the bar a little too low." He questioned while he shifted and pulled in front of an old cadi.

Anna leaned back in her seat and pondered his question for a moment, "I'm contrary, obstinant, and have a foul mouth" she counted on her fingers as she spoke. "sh-oot that was eight." She held up her fingers, "math was never my favorite subject." She omitted the part where she'd only finished grade school math.

The red head was quite pleased that he didn't want her lifes story yet. That was always the most awkward part of first dates- and what made them more like an interview than a date. "How about you, any bad habits I should know of now? In eight words or less of course." She winked.

"Haha, well looks like I can look forward to some good arguments. Trelanz is more like another piece of furniture than an actual child. But you've caught me at a disadvantage now. I'm such a pile of confusion I couldn't narrow it down to even twenty words." He laughed as he passed another driver.

"But I think it may be safer to let you be the judge in that case." Suddenly realizing he decided to change the subject. "You know, I just realized I have no idea where you live." He laughed awkwardly as he slowed the Jeep up, completely unaware at how fast they had been going.

Laughing Anna gave him the address of a rather upscale apartment building, work had been good to her lately. "At least you're going in the right direction." She considered his words, the mess of confusion intrigued her, but time would only tell about that. He was probably right about arguments if she had gauged him correctly though.

"You're lucky, Gam and I have been arguing for years- in fact his first words started an argument that hasn't really ended yet." Her ears perked- or they would if she had been a dog, she loved the song playing on the radio and she could hear it now that they had slowed down a bit. She sang along under her breath still keeping part of her attention of her date.

"Great, because those gas prices have just been making me sick." He shook his head as he ran a hand through his hair.

He grew quiet as a stretch of apartment buildings began to come into view. The song over the radio was one of his favorites but what was intriguing him more was the soft vocals coming from his passenger. As the song dulled down to the DJ's voice Lanaki finally spoke after the two minutes of silence, "I really hope you sing in that band of yours, too." He mentioned striking an immediate interest in her voice.

Anna chuckled, "Another reason I don't drive and my cab rides to shows are covered under an expense account." She winked.

At his comment she blushed bright red with embarrasment, she hadn't really noticed the silence during the song- she tended to zone out without meaning to when there was music involved. "I do, I'm the only girl so I have a fair number of my own songs and I do back up for Micah- our lead singer" she added realizing he had no idea who she was taklng about. She twisted a strand of hair around one finger.

Lanaki just froze and looked at her. "You shouldn't be doing any sort of back up singing for anyone. Not with that voice." He shook his head. "I'd love to hear some of your songs sometime, but I could probably do one better for you and see that you are the lead singer." He motioned as he regained speed.

Anna grinned, "I don't mind, Micah did a lot for me when I first got here. I write and play mostly, though I get more songs as we get more popular- I bring in the male fans." She told him with another wink, she couldn't imagine replacing Micah after he'd saved her.

"If you want to watch a show we play most friday's. We only get a few stadium shows if we are opening for an act but we are pretty regular on the club scene. I could score you some tickets." She watched her hands, her own music was the one thing she was shy about.
