Oh, my goodness! Yay! I finally finished Domo-kun, for my friend's birthday. Strike one off the Works in Progress list.


Domo-kun was inspired by this very very fuzzy plush felt I found at a fabric store.
The inside pictures didn't turn out very well (Domo is dark, so his details are hard to see on the white background), so I took some pics outside, too.
See pics in my third post, finished plushies.

It was a lot of work figuring out how the accessories would go together, and I almost gave up on that part, but I'm really happy with the way it all turned out, and I don't think the red velcro in his red felt mouth detracts too much from the way he looks.

What do you guys think? Can you forgive me for making an internet meme (2 if you count the companion cube) instead of an original character? xp

Anyhow, I'm really tempted to make one of those bears, thank you so much for the pattern! I'll probably make a panda one for my friend's birthday.

shiny things are hard to photograph. but this is how i do it.

what i would do is clear out a large spot on a raised table or something. making sure no other structures are near it. put down and spread out a piece of plain [no design] fabric down. place your object on top of said fabric, in the center [it doesnt have to be fabric necessarily, just any plain material. like sheets of printer paper works well. also, depending on the color and how shiny your object is, it might also reflect color. similar colored material works the best as the base]. make sure the lighting around the object is even, with little or no glare. sometimes dimming the lights a little will help. place your camera far away from your shiny object and zoom in to take the photo. if you dont want your own reflection to be there, you might want to put the camera on a tripod.
