Ike. Well it depends on what the person thinks. I think Ike is strongest, mostly because he's the only strong character I use.

Talwar126 Spartan9053 there is no strongest character, its how you use them... 3nodding I seriously want to slap every person I hear or see say this. This is so cliche and idealist.
This is like saying "I only care about his/her personality" or "I'm not racist." Either the person is saying those things to keep from being socially criticized or they have deluded themselves into believing it. Everyone is attracted to other people physically before they are attracted emotionally. It's just a part of our genetic makeup. Feel free to check out January 28th's Time Magazine if you'd like to read up on it. As for the second comment, everyone, and I mean everyone, is racist. You don't have to go around screaming "******" or "spick" to be racist. People have a natural affinity towards their own race or culture. We have just come to utilize the term in such a negative way that people actually fear being labeled as such. Or, better yet, "It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it..." Sorry, her (or his, for that matter) boyfriend has a tiny p***s. You ask any woman to be truthful, they'll tell you that size does matter. Bigger is better. You match up two men with equal skill in bed, and the one with the larger p***s will be the one who gets more points in the woman's eyes.
Now, granted, those are all extreme exaggerations of my point but it still stands. NO, not all characters in Brawl are created equal. I don't care what anyone says. Just because you want to feel like you aren't using one of the "inferior" characters, it doesn't make them otherwise. There are certain characters that are just plain better than others. Perfect example of this, Toon Link and Link. The ONLY thing that Link has over Toon Link is a very slight range and power advantage (as well as the marginally useful pull/push effect for his Gale Boomerang). Toon Link, on the other hand, is far faster, only ~2% less damage per attack, has more knockback, better priority, a larger hitbox on his bombs, and arrows with a greater distance-to-charge ratio.
You can't go about comparing two players with vastly different skill levels and expect to come out with viable results. It's like a scientific experiment. You want to analyze tournament results from many months and several different locations of tournaments and determine which character, more often than not, comes out on top when mained. You then gradient it out from there. This means that we won't be able to truly determine who is better than who until at least sometime mid-May. At that time, the people should be sufficiently used to characters and the sample size should be sufficiently large in order to make a proper decision. That's a narrow-minded viewpoint.... Yes, some characters are better than others on average from all people but for each person, they have to find out who they are more skilled with. For example a noob will have a hard time winning a battle with Ness or Marth while an experienced veteran could kick some serious butt with these characters. Why? becuase they are harder to master, harder to control, but if you do master them then you'll see how they are better than Ike and Lucas.

Why? becuase they are harder to master, harder to control, but if you do master them then you'll see how they are better than Ike and Lucas. That's the same tired "counter-argument" I hear everywhere. It's narrow minded to just assume that a character can be "good" because some person decides to play with them a lot. You completely ignored the latter portion of my argument and just assumed that I only intended to state that not all characters are equal. I'm tired of continuously returning to this point, but I'll do it again:
Pit a Veteran Donkey Kong player against a Veteran Fox player and the Fox player is going to Shine the DK player to hell. Pit a Veteran Ness player against that same Fox Veteran. Same thing is going to happen.
Look, yes, certain characters have advantages over other characters. That's just plain to see. Thing is, some characters have advantages over more characters than others. This makes them better overall. In addition to this, you have numerous things like Power/Range-to-Speed/Lag ratios, combo ability, and Advanced Techniques that sift characters out into their tiers. Anyone who thought that Melee characters like Link, Mewtwo, Ness, or Yoshi were seriously on the same fighting plane as Fox, Falco, Marth, and Sheik are absolutely bonkers, need to stick to their casual gaming, and shouldn't talk about how "it depends on how you use them."
And, Buster, I know. There are just a few things that tick me off, you know I don't bash very often, but this is one of them. sweatdrop I left the comment at Racism and Physical attraction at first, but decided that the third point was just too good to leave out. xd I mean, some of these teeny-boppers might not get it but I'm sure you understand and know that it's relevant, at least to people out age.

Ok lets all try to get along and not kill each other over a game. The answer is simple NOT ALL CHARACTERS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL, but to say that one character played at the same skill level as the rest of the charactes would win is also wrong. Simply put every character has its strength and its the one who can utilize that strength who will win. Ok here's an example if two noobs play one as Ike and one as Sonic who would win. A majority of the time Ike would own the hell out of Sonic. Now lets say these two ppl play brawl non-stop for 3 months will the results be the same NO THEY WILL NOT. Why you say simply put Sonic becomes very dangerious when he links his attacts together, and with Ike's lag time and lack of speed it would be harder to stop Sonic from landing all his hits. I am in no way saying Sonic would win, but I am saying it would be a whole new ball game. Much different from the first fight. Simply put some characters abilitys are harder to find. but in the long run its the wielder not the weapon, and yes I know its better to have a gun than a butter knife, but in the case of brawl no character is that powerful that no matter who you pick you will never win

Absolutely brilliant, and I intend to imply no sarcasm in that statement. With all my rambling, you managed to say my meaning more elegantly than I ever could. That is going into my signature.

Anyways, I'm staying out of the argument, I just wanted to give the congrats to aqua. Away with me! *gone* BRRAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
