In my personal opinion this is one of the few golden animes of are time it's plotline and sory are uncomparable to most other shows that are out now and for those of you who don't like it merly because it moves at a "slower" pace than most other animes i have one thing to say to you "expand your horizons" if all you watch is some of the faster moving animes out there you'll never rly learn to appreciate a goo plot in a realy well written anime though i will admit this one is a little hard to break into though once you scratch the surface there is plenty there to keep you digging.
Quite frankly, I wouldn't say this series has a "good" or "well-written" plot. Too many of the characters were the stereotypical anime or video game characters, what was accomplished in 26 episodes could have most likely been accomplished in around 10 fewer but seemed to be drawn out just for the hell of it, and all of the so called "depth" that a lot of people found seemed to me like things found in every other show that has a somewhat serious plot line. Of course, one of the main things that turned me off from the series is that it is over franchised... between the several anime series, the video games, and various manga series, there seemed no point in the majority of them besides making money.
Ok, rant done. Sorry if I've offended anyone, but actual discussions require both sides of the issue, and I'm in a weird mood...so therefore I rant. ^.^
