GIR is good for only one thing in Gaz's book: He can power her Game Slave 2 for all eternity, thanks to the power of SIR Unit power cores.
(Which must surely be fusion plants, don't you think, especially to keep up with the kinds of things GIR does?)
That's it. Gaz cares for nothing more than video games, Bloaty's, being left alone and beating the hell out of anybody who defies her desires.
GIR, though, understands emotion better than an unfeeling Irken who has never felt true emotions (the kind that start meaningful friendships and loves) in his entire life. That "stupid little robot" hides his real knowledge and has a heart of pure gold.
In the end, it boils down to this: GIR cares. Gaz doesn't. QED.
